Can old tristar testers be flashed with updated firmware?

Basically yes, but they say no because they want to sell more of this 3€-devices for 50€ to people that repair phones without any basic understanding of electronics. If you have the possibility than do all possible measurements on the dock connector, give them to me and I will make an open-source project about that based on Arduino, this is all it needs, some measurements on working and broken devices.

Yes, but you need to send it to them... I've done that but I would NOT recommend to do this: I got mine back with V3 Firmware, but I only got the option Quicktest, regular Test button on the left side does not work / appear: Complained about it with a freindly mail but no reply after 2 weeks so I opened a PayPal claim to get at least my money back... no answer from the seller so far!

Ohhh... the update for Tristar-Tester V2 > V3 is not available anymore... who wants mine? ... going for a JC Tester instead... Even if this one works, but ignoring your customers is a no go!
