It's an amazing movie, even with Javier's hairdo! Funnily enough we had Thanos being hunted by pirate Captain Salazar and harassed by Tallahassee, the Zombie killer.
I think you guys hit all the main pros and cons. This was my first Zombicide as well and we played five missions before packing it away. I think there was a missed opportunity to not include character progression across the “campaign” as we really weren’t enticed to play much more. Luckily, I have the KS version and we swapped out our characters to mix things up after the first mission so that helped a bit. We even added in the KS monster variants and some additional Abominations. However, as you noted, all the weapons become familiar and we were really only fighting against RNG. I liked this game a lot. It's that, fun, just plain stupid fun. Roll the dice and go for it. It creates anecdotes and laughs when played with the right group. Zombicide is one of my preferred solo games mainly because it's just brainless fun. No stress, no high scores, no achievements. It's just kill, kill, kill and be happy with the nonsense. I was waiting for more playthroughs hehe.

Regarding the Zombicide rules (and hidden details), as someone who also has all of the Zombicide games, I wish there was a summary sheet that listed the subtle (and not so subtle) differences between the various versions of Zombicide. It could even just group the modern era games together with the differences, and then the dark ages games and, finally, the future era games. I like combining the modern era games, for example, and keeping track of some of the new features (and improved rules) is a challenge sometimes. Maybe I should see if Board Game Geeks has something like this since there are often a lot of contributed material by fans. Anyway, great review!

Cool review. I backed this on KS, and it's up next to play once we've finished the last couple chapters of Aeon's End Legacy. If I'm lucky, I'll have time to paint at least the characters we'll use before we start! So many minis!! Would love to see more of Dark Side if you can get around to it.

After seeing you guys play Darkside I ordered at my local retailer and it looks great. My kids love playing this game so easy recommend for me.

This variation is slightly harder to start out with. It must be marketed to Zcide players. Modern was super easy to learn. It is indeed what we call a beer and pretzle game, all smashburger tactics and no thinky think. I went all in and lost 60% of the time. But any variation of this game seems like goofy good time fun. And win or lose you feel like you had an experience. You big beautiful bastards rock!!!!! Looking forward to some more gameplay. Love the graphics. Good work
@@TabletopKnights cmon is basically re skinning zombicide, adding little change, and like you guys were saying charging extra for dice. My local game store hates cmon cause they basically cut him out with the kickstarter. Which is the most economical way for guys like us to get the cool stuff. I'll need to see what there going to do with the reboot of their modern version. 200us is a lot for a rulebook plastic dash boards and 100 blowmold minis. But they really have the marketing down. If you dont already have the modern version, definitely back the kickstarter or play your mates. Its my go to for new gamers or Milton Bradley gamers. Do I win longest fucking response of the century or what:)

Massive Darkess, has a similar feel to ZC but the Shadow Zone mechanic here is more about the heroes sneaking about. So it's almost like they took that piece and gave the ability to the Xenomorphs in Dark Side. I didn't warm to Massive Darkness. Thanks so much for the question!
Regarding the silent shotgun, the shotgun with the silencer was one of the coolest parts of No Country for Old Men.

Zombicide games are way more worth when they are bought with KS bonuses. It was the same thing for Black Plague/Green Horde

Limited release ... available in retail but no guess as to exactly where or for how long. General thought is however long 1st print run lasts.
