evans won the tour up the galibier the day before - he lead the favorites 95 % of the mountain and cut 2 minutes of schlecks lead .... that was phenomenal !!!
Let's Face it Cadell Evans was beaten 3 times with the supposed winners later being caught as drug cheats. Evans should have won 4 TDFs. Most deserving winner EVER !! Great work and a great champion. I only hope that Andy is not on drugs like his brother !!
This was Voeckler's tour. Had he not descended so poorly and not tried to chase earlier before Alpe D'Huez, he would have ended up winning. People forget how well he did in this TT.
andy, a word of advice. if youre not very good at time trialling and even worse at descending, dont wait until the penultimate mountain stage to put in a massive attack that in the end pretty much failed because you went too soon and gave evans way too much time to chase you down and with all the TT km this year you need to be far more aggressive in the mountains and maybe exploit some of those uphill finishes on the other stages to gain back little bits of time whenever you can.
Andy's tactical mistakes are becoming infuriating. Rubbernecking with his brother ( who, it must be accepted, holds him back ) on precious slopes, launching desperate breakaway attacks, and generally mucking about. He is a climbing freak. His tactics should consist entirely of staying out of trouble until the harshest, steepest, longest slopes he can find, and then relentlessly annihilating it without any regard for what others are doing. There is no one that could live with it right now.
Evans isnt a sprinter. And being a sprinter isnt going to help in TT's. Sprinters can be explosive in short amounts of time, but they use all there energy.
Andy Schleck was one of the worst time trialists (together with Pantani) and that’s why he never won the tour. And Pantani shouldn’t have won it because HE WAS DOPED. So Jan Ulrich is the deserved winner of 1998

4 TDFs ? Why ? In 2007 and 2008 Contador and Sastre won. And both weren’t doped
