I grew up in Aylmer but have now lived in Nova Scotia for the past ten years. Whenever I'm feeling homesick, I put this video on and I feel like I'm out for a stroll in the same streets that I walked through for years growing up. They look exactly the way I remember them. A little correction for your description - Aylmer was amalgamated with Gatineau and Hull in 2002. In 1975, it was actually a different amalgamation of the three smaller towns of Aylmer, Lucerne and Deschenes, which created the Aylmer that I grew up in in the 90s. Both the 1975 and the 2002 amalgamations were very important events in Aylmer's history. Anyway, thank you for sharing your appreciation of my little gem of a hometown!
Thank you for your heartfelt comment! It's truly special to hear that this video helps reconnect you with your roots in Aylmer. Your detailed correction about the town's history is much appreciated, and it's fascinating to learn about the significant amalgamations in 1975 and 2002. Your personal reflections add a unique touch to the history of Aylmer, especially regarding its transformation in the 90s. It's great to see such pride and affection for your hometown. Thanks again for sharing these memories and insights!
Thank you for the history blurb, very interesting. I've lived in Aylmer for some time now and didn't know... And thank you for the video, very beautifully done. Unfortunately, in past couple of years, since your video was posted, Aylmer had gone through a lot of changes. It's like the beautiful, old town is slowly being erased. I hope and pray 🤞🙏 we don't loose it all together.
Lived in Alymer Sound, Québec before it was closed down; a few parcels were misdirected there. If anyone there got my Atari PlayStation in 1982, you can keep it now . . .

I lived there a couple year ago and it’s beautiful. Especially the trails/ build road for cyclists and walkers located there.
Thank you for watching. Aylmer is a beautiful place. We enjoyed visiting.
