Frankly, probably the best Spider-man game to date. The two recent ones kinda came close, but somehow seventeen years later, we have still yet to get a game to top the Gamecube title.
XD I knew this was gonna be a good video when yesterday TB said he wouldn't be doing any videos for a few days. Then takes the time out of his schedule to take a swing at this. I commend you Mr. Totalbiscuit. Your like a more modern AVGN except more dapper.
Do more of those "hold-on" moments! That was actually hilarious and very appropriately used. A lot of your WTF's have those moments where you post-highlight something verbally and we don't know where to snap back to... Well, you could do this, or put in annotations what time point you were referring to verbally?
@@gamerinatrance3618 Then again, if someone actually for some reason liked this game... I wonder if there's even any torrent for it. When such unpopular games vanish, it can sometimes feel as if they had never existed to begin with, and that vexes me somewhat...
Biscuit, you're forgetting, multiplayer game. Epsilon's point ticked up when that guy died that didn't get shot on YOUR screen. On Epsilon's screen he undoubtedly hit him, synchronisation is out just like in every other multiplayer videogame ever. What you're seeing on your screen isn't what he's seeing on his.
I think "Mouse Button 3" is when you click the mouse wheel. (Or some mice might still physically have a third, large button.) Buttons 4 and 5 tend to be on one of the sides of the mouse (If it supports them), though some mice differ from this, or might have even more.
In one of his mailboxes (kind of old so things could've changed) he said he usually has the comments disabled, but sometimes he removes the disablement and reads them anyway. He also said he has a moderator or something.
fun fact, a good movie tie in game awas King Kong for the PS2. I may be a black sheep here, and the Kong bits were less than memorable. But their was something really scary about running from dinosaurs using only a spear and being low on ammo constantly
The slow motion replay part actually took place slightly after TB went 'stop', so we can't really tell because it's the first time we see it and we don't know if the soldier was shot right before that. Not that I care, but it didn't quite work. Or am I missing something?
Here are examples of good Movie-Based game I've played: Spider-Man 1 & 2 The Hulk: Interactive Game Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Batman Begins X-Men Origins: Wolverine Captain America: Super soldier The Amazing Spider-Man
I have yet to run to a game that lets me choose what screen I play it in. If there is a windowed full screen mode it pretty much always goes on screen 1 and so does fullscreen to actually. Only solution I know of is windowed + shiftwindow, that lets you choose the screen you wan't to use.
How exactly did the first one not do well? Did it not do well in the UK? I read that it was commercially successful. It raked in $274,470,394 at the box office, and it's budget was $80 million. How is that not doing well?
Star Wars Episode 3 was that weird co-op combo based hack-n-slash game for PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube that was released two weeks before the movie came out.
I recall someone else made a very good point that the 2 year distance IS what made the game good. The fact that it wasn't chasing a tight deadline made sure that the game was in the hands of the developers.
Maybe, though the word 'review' has a wide range of applications. You can "review" somebody's testimony, for example. Or as the process of going over a subject again, to memorise or summarize fact, similar in use to revision. As a critical article/report, reviews are typically evaluations of a work through thorough examination, reporting on it as a cohesive whole with the authority of someone who has fully explored it. First impressions tend to document only this initial exploration.
the spiderman + lego games(although I don't count lego games as movie based games)+Lord of the Rings games+X-Men Origins+Goldeneye were all pretty good.
Spider-Man 2 was a pretty fun movie-game. Lots of free-roaming fun. Sort of like a proto-Prototype. Actually, that was Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, which took a lot from that, so it's a proto-proto-Prototype.
Took me two or three minutes to realize he was green (by looking at his name), because the reticule was red. Think I get how the shooting could be messed up just from the changing perspectives. Unless you're lined up with something vertically, your perception of where your reticle is can be screwed up by the depth of the environment. Looks like you're aiming at the guy, but it's actually to his left, or somesuch. Maybe. I'm not gonna find out. Wonder if it fared better on the PSN PLAY promo.
Of the good or decent movie license games there was the original Pirates of the Caribbean (a game that was actually supposed to be the sequel to the venerable Sea Dogs), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Spiderman 2, Chronicles of Riddick, and the old Star Wars movie licensed games.
For what it's worth, the Scott Pilgrim tie-in game was pretty awesome, although it didn't try so hard to copy the book series or the movie so I'm not sure it counts.
I've played the trial of it on the Xbox 360 hoping to see if it's any better than the PC port, but I had some of the same aiming problems TB was having. It's a shame, because it seemed to be good from the footage I've seen. Sadly, it isn't.
I'm pretty sure he just meant "aliases" as its use in "online alias," which is a fairly common term for a username. It's slightly more accurate to refer to online identities as being under an alias, as a "username" is a login name coupled with a password, and may not necessarily be the same as a publicly displayed identity. Basically, Koalabrownie was just saying "Make sure you check who you're replying to, because I never said that."
RIP. Its 2022 and your still missed. (wish youtube would stop making me change my memorial comment every 20ish videos or so. when did they implement this new annoyance?)
The Expendables franchise can only be saved by highly descriptive Title Colon Subtitle. I can understand how Expendables: How Not To Make A Movie translated into Expendables 2: How Not To Make A Videogame. I just hope that Expendables 2: How Not To Make A Movie Sequel is good.
What Madcow said. He went on to give his opinion that the movie pretty much wrote itself given the cast at hand. On one part, I'd incline to agree. On the other, I'd imagine the game to be in "Its so bad its good" territory.
Watching TB is absolute gold if you're trying to improve your english. "Bad enough that they have the gall to charge fifteen dollars for this schlock." Intriguing vocabulary all over the place.
Die Hard Trilogy, Goldeneye, Spider Man 2, Riddick, Batman, Tron, King Kong, Scott Pilgrim, Star Wars, T2 Judgement Day, Aladdin, The Warriors. Good movie games off the top of my head.
Does anyone else think it would be a good idea for TB to have a little thing at the end that says whether or not he recommends the game or not? While I like to watch the full length of TB's video I find that there are times where I don't have time to watch the whole thing and I just want to see if he likes it or not.
I'm sorry. Am I the only one noticing that the trucks are CLIPPING right through a fence, and the two guard towers and zooming onto the map at 8:05? Just... That's JUST MAD, I'm surprised TB didn't even Comment on that. Just look at that Hideous "Trucks Appear" 8:05
Continued... Oh, and looking at giantbomb's rating system 2/5 is pretty much identical: "2/5 This game's problems outweigh its good qualities.". You can read about their explanation for their ratings on their site under >Help >Site FAQ".
spiderman 2. played it when I was little, and only recently have a realised it is one of the only good movie based games (probably because it didn't feel like it was trying to follow the movie too much. So if you had never seen the film, it would just feel like another good game)
The batman games were quite good. It's interesting to me, since it seems like they are the only movie tie-ins that have been any good at all. I don't own them, but I've heard pretty good things about them.
Holy crap! I thought I was the only person who played Expendable for the Dreamcast. It, Bangai-O, and Grandia II are the only reasons I keep my Dreamcast around.
Just because you only see that far into the gmae does not mean he does not play through it enough to give a review, most of the time he records playing the game then afterwords he syncs it with his commentary so he has plenty of time in between to fully play the game.
"The main problem I've got with this game is that it's just terrible in every respect."

I thought that Spiderman 2 was pretty good. I enjoyed swinging around the whole city.
Frankly, probably the best Spider-man game to date. The two recent ones kinda came close, but somehow seventeen years later, we have still yet to get a game to top the Gamecube title.
Spider-Man 2 was an amazing movie tie-in game!
An entire market that "takes one for the team" every single day. Brave, Brave iOS, you shall be remembered.
The Incredibles Game was pretty solid.
XD I knew this was gonna be a good video when yesterday TB said he wouldn't be doing any videos for a few days. Then takes the time out of his schedule to take a swing at this. I commend you Mr. Totalbiscuit. Your like a more modern AVGN except more dapper.
That Stallone impersonation is hilarious 😂
Ty TB, you may not like tearing apart these bad games but I and most others love it, pls keep it up!
Spiderman 2 on the PS3 was a great tie in
Do more of those "hold-on" moments! That was actually hilarious and very appropriately used. It appears that this game was delisted from Steam.
Not surprising, licenses run out all the time even nowadays.

The detonator is outside of his hand!
whooooooah this is the best editing iv'e seen from TB so far.
ET on the older systems was pretty good SAID NO ONE EVER

JustinKC97 the James Cameron’s avatar game for 360 was pretty agreeable in my opinion.

I've heard of Prison Break sadly.
where in the video was the invisible shotgun? i could not see one
Is it weird that when i see the Terry Crews character portrait, I see Fu Man Chu? Racist on my end or the developers? YOU DECIDE!!!!!
Gotta love TB's brutal honesty...Good Job As Always TB!
How exactly did the first one not do well? Did it not do well in the UK? I read that it was commercially successful. It raked in $274,470,394 at the box office, and it's budget was $80 million. How is that not doing well?
i like when TB interupts his commentary, makes it seem like their is multiple biscuits!
The fact that you had to press a button to bring your weapon up blew my mind. SO REAL.
@17:51, Did to enemies completely disappear or am I seeing things?
Star Wars Episode 3 was that weird co-op combo based hack-n-slash game for PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube that was released two weeks before the movie came out.
20:09 I like how the detonator is attached to his knuckles :P
"Tron 2.0" (from 2003 by Monolith, not to be confused with the more recent "Tron:Evolution") is another good game based on a movie.
I recall someone else made a very good point that the 2 year distance IS what made the game good. The fact that it wasn't chasing a tight deadline made sure that the game was in the hands of the developers.

just wonder a fast question, why do I always lagg out from sc bw when I have perfect internet connection and sc2 work perfect?? -.-'
Best totalbiscuit video so far. I've never laughed so hard before.
Spider-Man 2 was a pretty fun movie-game. Lots of free-roaming fun. Sort of like a proto-Prototype. Actually, that was Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, which took a lot from that, so it's a proto-proto-Prototype.

Can we get a list of decent to good movie to video game tie-ins?
Let me start the ball with the classic Goldeneye on N64
"Hello my name is Totalbiscuit, or PlagueBiscuit right now."
- TB 2012
made my freakin' day
Next PLEASE do WTF is Primal Carnage (Beta)? It is a multiplayer based Dinosuar game that is REALLY AWESOME.
8:00 Geez, did those trucks come out of hyperspace?
Yes it is, if you don't see it on your steam main page store, thanks to GFWL its probably not available in your region
is that guy floating above the fence at 14:07 ?
Aren't they related to the books? I haven't seen the movies so I can't tell.
It's possible to remove your "game subscription" in steam. I haven't explored how, but their terms of service claim that it can be done.
For what it's worth, the Scott Pilgrim tie-in game was pretty awesome, although it didn't try so hard to copy the book series or the movie so I'm not sure it counts.

how many of those batman games were good pc ports or actully how many of then were good?
at 9:23 review the thing i nfull motion and you see the sniper and sylvester stalone shooting
Oh god, you made the rest of the week for me.. Cheers! :D

Which Batman movie did they make a video game of?
Does it can be played multyplayer?

me change my memorial comment every 20ish videos or so. when did they
implement this new annoyance?)
17:51, enemies just despawned, they didn't even bother animate the dying, they just vanished
The Warriors one of the few good movie tie ins and that was made 20/30 years after the actual film
Look at the soldier at 14:57. Some nice flips there.
The Expendables franchise can only be saved by highly descriptive Title Colon Subtitle. I can understand how Expendables: How Not To Make A Movie translated into Expendables 2: How Not To Make A Videogame. I just hope that Expendables 2: How Not To Make A Movie Sequel is good.
name of the song at the end ?
It's about time we had a game that brought out the full TB onslaught! Really enjoyed this.
wanted to write exactly that. Picard would be it's title/splash screen
What Madcow said. He went on to give his opinion that the movie pretty much wrote itself given the cast at hand.
On one part, I'd incline to agree. On the other, I'd imagine the game to be in "Its so bad its good" territory.
TB, your videos are great, but I feel like you jumped into this one biased since it was a movie game. However, you are very entertaining.
The shotgun probably fires "Dragon's Breath" rounds, not fireworks. Very effective in close quarters against infantry.
Watching TB is absolute gold if you're trying to improve your english. "Bad enough that they have the gall to charge fifteen dollars for this schlock." Intriguing vocabulary all over the place.
yeah he does... he moved there a couple months ago
20:43 they can put that on the box. TotalBiscuit "It's abysmal"
Wow i cant believe theres someone else who actually knows what those are and they do look amazing.
The sad part is that this movie was tailor made for a modern day FPS since it's all about shooting people and over the top action scenes.
I think Spiderman 2 was the only other movie tie-in game beside of Riddick that was actually worth playing.
Die Hard Trilogy, Goldeneye, Spider Man 2, Riddick, Batman, Tron, King Kong, Scott Pilgrim, Star Wars, T2 Judgement Day, Aladdin, The Warriors. Good movie games off the top of my head.
00:40 The Godfather was good...it came out 34 years after the movie though. Does that count?
Does anyone else think it would be a good idea for TB to have a little thing at the end that says whether or not he recommends the game or not? "The only thing I have wrong with this game is it's terrible in every respect."
Oh well if that's all :p
Another great vid!
The Lord of the Rings movie "tie-ins" were great, well Two Towers and RotK were
yeah but those are usually exceptions because the comics and cartoons came first then the first games on the old ps1 etc
I've seen that "2"-logo type somewhere.. :p
In a market saturated by FPS games I find it unbelievable that the one time it's a good idea to make one for a movie they don't bother.

I don't recall seeing TB do too many things like that reply at 9:10
Don't forget about the King Kong game based on Peter Jackson's movie. Really that game never gets mentioned but sure as hell deserves it.
spiderman 2.
played it when I was little, and only recently have a realised it is one of the only good movie based games (probably because it didn't feel like it was trying to follow the movie too much. So if you had never seen the film, it would just feel like another good game)

Holy crap! I thought I was the only person who played Expendable for the Dreamcast. It, Bangai-O, and Grandia II are the only reasons I keep my Dreamcast around.
Loved Ikari Warriors. Had it on the Amiga 600 and 500+ ;D
you know i wish that total biscuit would do a wtf of minecraft hearing him yell at notch would be hilarious
Normally I'd correct you, because you probably meant "dump", but in this context it's hard to tell if "taking a dumb" could actually work.
Not to mention "Double Dragon", "Super Mario Bros.", and "Alone in the Dark".... I think those should be classified as torture devices.
Welcome to another 20 minute episode of 'Complaining' staring Total Biscuit.
Just because you only see that far into the gmae does not mean he does not play through it enough to give a review, most of the time he records playing the game then afterwords he syncs it with his commentary so he has plenty of time in between to fully play the game.
Oh wow.... Thanks for the video, TB!
There was a flash of Contra with expendable characters for the first game
finally someone who remembers the great game Incoming.
