Possibly one of the worst games ever developed for the PC actually has a FOV slider AND it's not a first-person game. Triple-A Developers should be ashamed of this.
The 'run up and punch them' approach does not work in later levels at all, since enemies seem to infinitely spawn when there's an alert. And EVERY SINGLE GUARD will advance towards your position. Especially frustrating in some of the larger levels that have lots of guards.
As we understand it, light doesn't have mass, but it does have inertia. In fact, when a photon collides with something, some of its energy is transferred to whatever it collides with, and the wavelength (color) of the photon is changed.
Should of taken notes of the AI in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. They light flare's, use flashlight's, notice if locks or lights are broken, if their buddy's are missing and even though it's a stealth game, they co-ordinate and use tactics in full-on combat, using flanking, cover and grenades, co-coordinating amongst themselves.
they really aped hitman absolution what with the subdue skill the BODY FOUND alert snd with the alert of them being hostile BUT... Hitman absolution is a great game this game is just a half assed ape of good games
you know what? you're properbly the most awesome guy i've ever seen on the internet (just judging from your comments on this vid) no matter how you're insulted you're still friendly and you even care to add a touch of sarcasm. keep it up good guy there if you're trolling then nice job at doing something new XD
Although I know the WTF series doesn't really apply to AAA games, I would love to see you review some of those. Consistently solid and helpful reviews!
doesnt matter how long it was before you watched.. youtube takes a few minutes to finish processing. sometimes it doesnt take more than a minute and some times it takes more than 10.. just happens to be finished processing when you watched.
Thank you TotalBiscuit. You saved me money from not buying this game. The game looked cool in trailers, but was waiting for your review. Keep up the good work.
laser do not create kickback... voltage applied to a gas to excite into light does not create kickback...even if you think the light bouncing around inside would...you must remember there is just as much light bouncing on the other side so it will equal out (and either way would be completely minimal). no kick back.
Cel-shading choice was more than likely due to the success of Borderlands. (Plus texture quality can be acceptably lower by using filters on them to make them more cartoony, allows for lower graphics budget)
i hoped this wasnt bad... purely for the fact that the voice actor for the main character is the same voice actor from The Witcher games... but then i saw the gameplay videos, and now this.. dayum.
Never did play Revolver. But you're right it did come out a year before GUN. Was it similar to redemption. Because I found a lot of what GUN did was a lower scale version of Redemption.
that's what i ment in the first place, not really guns blazing but being able to silently take dudes down with a silanced weapon from a distance, AND the option to take you knife and go in the face of the soon-to-be-dead person
If he were to do a Cube World video at present it would likely be part of the new "Alpha Strike" series. That's where he does games in alpha/ early beta.
Here's how it works: Have you ever tried to watch a video on TH-cam but before it plays you need to watch a commercial? That's called a pre-roll. Every 1000 times a pre-roll advertisement is shown, TH-cam gets paid some amount of money. The amount can vary but typically TH-cam is paid between $20 and $25 for every thousand ad views.
its true laser weapons would have some form of recoil, its just a matter of scale. the recoil would of an single short duration pulse would be negligible. now if the laser rifle produced a continuous strem of photons over a long enough period of time in a circumstance where the effects could be observed, lets say zero-g space, then you could notice it and even get a small acceleration out of it. There are in fact methods being developed to lift objects to orbit with high powered ground lasers
Honestly, I have fairly positive memories of it. It wasn't mindblowing, certainly, and it had its fair share of issues but I think that it did get a few things right (story- and dialogue-wise) and the gameplay wasn't as awkward as in many other games. I think it suffered from some bad ideas and concepts but also from limited time to execute the good ones properly. The whole "consequence" thing could have been done better but there were a few instances where it did that surprisingly well.
I might understand if you said that about something like Max Payne 3, which they filled with unnecessary cutscenes, but in The Last of Us, nearly all the cutscenes serve a purpose, usually to either further the storyline or to improve character relations, and it did so successfully, and still had much less cutscenes than MP3 did. Might you elaborate on what you mean when you say that it was more of "a TV show" to you?
Because even the Arkham series has a few situations where going into direct combat is a bad idea (such as those times where all the enemies are armed with guns, with which they can kill you with them quite easily before you can even build up a decent combo).
Well they use a lot of tactics and teamwork on the lower ones as well. I remember when I was a noob at it I played Call of Pripyat on easy, I went to a mercenary camp and shot at one. I was being shot at so I decided to flank them. There was no other way in so I headed back to entrance, they were all out basically, one threw a nade at me and killed me instantly. Golly I love that game.
im aware of that but you can also run and gun the entire game if you want to. i don't consider a game to be a stealth game at all until you can go the entire game without killing anybody. but its still not something i would call "pure stealth." the reason i mentioned the first two metal gear games as pure were not because you couldn't run and gun through the game (you could although your a god of gaming if you can do that) its because if u tried to do that, more-often than not you will be dead.
But not always to this degree, and quite frankly, I don't blame him. Even if you muted the audio, you could see the quality of the game. I, for one, like to know what my health is at and not be blind when I lose it. TB even ended by drinking blood in full view of the enemy without alarms being raised, whereas earlier he was behind some of them and they could 'see' him.
When he was sitting at the title screen and he explained that it was a stealth game where you played as a vampire, I thought of a game where a vampire hunts people. I'd have to say I agree with most everything TB said about the game in this review. The game isn't what I thought it was sadly.
Glad for the honest review - prevented me from even thinking of picking this up. That's 50$+ CAN I can put towards something worthwhile, like DarkSouls 2
Sigh... TB mentions Vampire the Masquerade bloodlines, Jesse just made a vampire rpg in Game Dev Tycoon. I really have to play that game again now, it was so good...
Archmage: Reckoning has to happen. Each time you fuck up and die the FOV slider gets permanently shorter and the camera starts randomly closing in on the character. And the game would be so amazing you'd just have to move on and try your best not to screw up.
Revolver was just a linear level-based western shooter. Redemption was an open world sandbox game, that took every enjoyable western trope and turned it up to 11.
Actually, you can teleport to some ledges with the shadow leap. Also, I got a pretty fun time playing this game IN FULL STEALTH. Exacly like said in the video, the IA is so shitty that if you break the script of the guards walking around, you'll just play a bad Beat em all
Well that's the trick isn't it? MGS's thickness of legend was well implemented. It worked, in a way, and it flowed with the game's feel and play style. MGS' brand of stealth gameplay fit with the intensely thick idiocy of it's enemies. :T
Would like to see you do a video on Vampire the Masquerade : Bloodlines like what you did for Deus Ex. Really curious to see which Clan you'd play :p (thinking Tremere or Nosferatu)
I don't doubt this, and that TB tried to stealth when he first played the game, but it would be nice to see him seriously try it on tape, to demonstrate how it fails, instead of just walking up to punch almost every enemy.
That's a huge part of the game, just try a no kill playthrough on hardest difficulty. Also, you could simply not use blink or set a list of personal rules to limit it.
Sorry, not a TV show but like an extremely amazing and interactive cinematic. I was so immersed into the game it felt like I was just watching the story line pass by my entire eyes.
yeah but TB wont be able to see prices for in other currencies on steam, just what he has set it too, so dollars. he just knows a rough estimate. and it may be priced differently on steam anyway.
E=mc2 (with 2=squared) gives that the energy of a substance (being atoms protons or in this case photons) is equal to the mass times the speed of light times the speed of light if photons had mass they could never reach that speed simply that you'd need too much energy to get that fast easy :) (fun fact speed of light = 300000000m/s or 1080000000 km/h, dont know miles figure that out yourself because i still dont know why the USA and Brittain still aren't using the metric system :S
Sort of. The shooting was lock-on based from what I remember. GUN is definitely a closer representation of RDR since it had the power to work a similair style but yeah I just remember seeing red dead revolver when I was a kid
But surely if it has mass, the Newton law that dictates every action has an equal an opposition reaction then takes effect, giving the laser rifle recoil?
TB was in the middle of saying "over and over and over again" when I skipped the video ahead 5 minutes. I immediately heard him say "over and over and over again" again. That alone spoke volumes about this game.
I had already made up my mind when i checked other videos and reviews across the internet but it is nice to have some confirmation from TB that i made a good choice earlier = ) Even though i only watched this in dire hope for TB to show me something i didn't realize was good in this game.
Vampire: the masquerade bloodlines is a very high recommendation on my part. But I highly recommend you download the latest unofficial patch if you decide to play it. There used to be some very annoying bugs in that game. All gone now :)
Yeah im saying that stuff is okay assuming they state that they are not reviewing the final product. he was talking about reviews done on games in alpha states that did a minecraft model of business where they sell in alpha and increase in price in beta then in release. im not saying that stuff is bad assuming it is clearly stated that it is not the final product and they do a follow up review upon release.
does anyone notice that the instant kill is the game is too slow? it's instant kill so I imagine it will be a powerful move to execute, like a lethal martial art attack, which is never slow. the vampire is also moving too slow like an old man while creeping...
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines is one of my favorite games on the PC. The fighting may not be the greatest thing in the world but the quests were fun and the interactions with NPCs were great. I always played as a Malkavian for their poetic conversational choices. It is a joy to go back and play that game multiple times. This game....looks like a pile in comparison.
thanks TB, this game is on sale on steam, i think i'll keep my money this time around
I want say thank you to his family for living these videos on TH-cam
Possibly one of the worst games ever developed for the PC actually has a FOV slider AND it's not a first-person game. Triple-A Developers should be ashamed of this.

"We feed on him by lightly blowing on his neck! How romantic." I died. xD
TELL ME MORE ABOUT DARK.
Oh, God, this game is hilarious. Just the attack animation sends me into a fit of giggles every single time.
You are right. Plus keep in mind that you must do something to create that laser and I wouldn't expect that to be free of any form of recoil either.
Hey! Gun is Awesome!!! Stupid title, I know, but it's awesome! It's like Red Dead Redemption for the PS2.
Red Dead Revolver is great too
He was just talking about the title not the whole game.
As we understand it, light doesn't have mass, but it does have inertia. In fact, when a photon collides with something, some of its energy is transferred to whatever it collides with, and the wavelength (color) of the photon is changed.
0:21
DARK is less of an original name than Gun.
@Agent 005 and the prequel to Toe.
And the reboot of Fuck This Game which was a new take on Who The Fuck Came Up With This Shitty Game?
Should of taken notes of the AI in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.
They light flare's, use flashlight's, notice if locks or lights are broken, if their buddy's are missing and even though it's a stealth game, they co-ordinate and use tactics in full-on combat, using flanking, cover and grenades, co-coordinating amongst themselves.
6:50 that laugh
They managed to made a game in 2013 that looks worse than vampire the masquerade in almost every way, even visually.
That takes talent.
they really aped hitman absolution what with the subdue skill the BODY FOUND alert snd with the alert of them being hostile BUT... Hitman absolution is a great game this game is just a half assed ape of good games
you know what? you're properbly the most awesome guy i've ever seen on the internet (just judging from your comments on this vid)
no matter how you're insulted you're still friendly and you even care to add a touch of sarcasm.
keep it up good guy there
if you're trolling then nice job at doing something new XD
Why... am I getting a weirdly-animated ad in japanese?
Because you don't have AdBlocker...
Nolan Murillo My, aren't you a bright one. I was weirded out because it was in japanese, not because I got an ad.
ESFAndy011 Ask stupid questions and you'll get stupid answers.
Rory David The question wasn't stupid, it was stupidly misinterpreted. I simply found it weird to get an ad in japanese, end of story.
You're getting defensive.
Although I know the WTF series doesn't really apply to AAA games, I would love to see you review some of those. Consistently solid and helpful reviews!
Looks like a shit dishonored rip off with theme stolen for vampire the masquerade and a cell shaded art style
TB talked about Cube World in his vlog video and that he wasn't very entertained about it, but he did say he'll do a video on it eventually.
#TellMeMoreAboutVampires
Thank you Mr. biscuit,
i have been waiting for your opinion on this particular piece.
thanks for saving me 15 euros! :)
thank god i was thinking about getting this game. thanks for putting this up biscuit.
Rip Legend 🙏
doesnt matter how long it was before you watched.. youtube takes a few minutes to finish processing. sometimes it doesnt take more than a minute and some times it takes more than 10.. just happens to be finished processing when you watched.
this is really made as a copy of a Thief DEADLY SHADOWS
A really BAD copy
Man the preorder DLC for this is amazing! I got a skin for the main character that is fully animated!
Thank you TotalBiscuit. You saved me money from not buying this game. The game looked cool in trailers, but was waiting for your review. Keep up the good work.
Thanks TB, I just re-installed Vampire Masquerades because of this.
laser do not create kickback... voltage applied to a gas to excite into light does not create kickback...even if you think the light bouncing around inside would...you must remember there is just as much light bouncing on the other side so it will equal out (and either way would be completely minimal). no kick back.

Sometimes. I think the main thing is having a delay between being spotted and the alarm raising/everyone knowing your location.
A stealth based vampire game where you hunt your prey sounds like an amazing premise.. someone make a real game like that.
Never did play Revolver. But you're right it did come out a year before GUN. Was it similar to redemption. Because I found a lot of what GUN did was a lower scale version of Redemption.
Newest upcoming one IS a vampire game, considering you play as Dracula, go around biting people and using vampire powers, etc.
that's what i ment in the first place, not really guns blazing but being able to silently take dudes down with a silanced weapon from a distance, AND the option to take you knife and go in the face of the soon-to-be-dead person
You want a good vampire game that can be stealthy? Play Masquerade: Bloodlines as a Nosferatu.
If he were to do a Cube World video at present it would likely be part of the new "Alpha Strike" series. That's where he does games in alpha/ early beta.

I had high hopes for this game, the way they hyped it in all the ads. Thanx for showing us how much of a bomb it is. I guess I will play Thief now!
Honestly, I have fairly positive memories of it. Omg, Dark purple is my favourite colour too!
Heh, wasn't expecting that.
Thanks for the heads up TB. Damn, I was really hoping for another masquerade :(.
21-22" screen ?
Any hoo what screen is being used ?
yes it does. because whats in alpha, and what the customer is going to purchase can sometimes be drasticly different.
im aware of that but you can also run and gun the entire game if you want to. i don't consider a game to be a stealth game at all until you can go the entire game without killing anybody. but its still not something i would call "pure stealth." the reason i mentioned the first two metal gear games as pure were not because you couldn't run and gun through the game (you could although your a god of gaming if you can do that) its because if u tried to do that, more-often than not you will be dead.
That's in fact Doug Cockle , the lead voice actor in the witcher serie who does "Eric" in dark.
But not always to this degree, and quite frankly, I don't blame him. Even if you muted the audio, you could see the quality of the game. I, for one, like to know what my health is at and not be blind when I lose it. On the subject of light having weight, doesn't that mean laser weapons should have some form of recoil?
Lol @ 3:40, says the character on the morgue thingy is "five meters away". Five LONG meters.
Useful as always with the recent midweek madness sale
Sigh... TB mentions Vampire the Masquerade bloodlines, Jesse just made a vampire rpg in Game Dev Tycoon. I really have to play that game again now, it was so good...
the best thing about this game is the fact that the main character is voiced by Doug Cockle aka Geralt of Rivia
Archmage: Reckoning has to happen. Each time you fuck up and die the FOV slider gets permanently shorter and the camera starts randomly closing in on the character. And the game would be so amazing you'd just have to move on and try your best not to screw up.

:T
20 min of pure blizz TB, ty
Because what you describe there are the melee combat section.
Have fun trying that out in a gun fight.
Damn, the powers circle-y thing and the powers menu looks almost EXACTLY like Dishonored.
6:46 for Hilarity!
In your introduction to this video, I could've sworn I heard a touch of "God I've said this so many times" in your voice! XD
Would like to see you do a video on Vampire the Masquerade : Bloodlines like what you did for Deus Ex.
Really curious to see which Clan you'd play :p (thinking Tremere or Nosferatu)

Vampires: the masquerade, as in one of my favorite games ever.
I was on the fence about this game for awhile. Good thing I waited for this WTF to come out.
I was kinda hoping for something in the vein of prototype or infamous but with more stealth in mind.
does anyone notice that the instant kill is the game is too slow? it's instant kill so I imagine it will be a powerful move to execute, like a lethal martial art attack, which is never slow. the vampire is also moving too slow like an old man while creeping...
did u watch the video, he talked about make it a pure stealth game or make combat interesting
Wow. I found a TV tropes page for TB. I had no idea he has one.
He moved to the US a year or two ago.
TB likes purple
purple is a combination of red and blue
together with purple that makes 3 colors
halflife 3 comfirmed
Dishonoured is how you choose to play it can be an action plat former and it can be a stealth game.
i think their on about the first impressions that tb dose, which aren't really reviews but its just easier to call them that.
what about the thief series? I know thief 2 had some really good stealth elements.
yeah it is kinda important, i suffer from low fov making me feel sick its horrible
does anyone know if this is free roam at all?
TB's favorite colour is dark purple, he's obviously a closet Vanu in Planetside 2
2:11 How sensible is your mouse? I like mine daft.
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines is one of my favorite games on the PC. The fighting may not be the greatest thing in the world but the quests were fun and the interactions with NPCs were great. thanks tb!! i was about to buy this game but you saved me! thanks a lot man!
sure it's a click in stealth, but it's good melee, ranged, magic fight when you get detected/or go the slaughter path
