I honestly think it would've been MUCH more fair to compare Dark Gaia to beings like Perfect Chaos, the Biolizard or something like that. Solaris could just make Gaia fly away with a single touch.

That's a good way to put it. As powerful as Dark Gaia is, Solaris is simply powerful on a figurtivel and literal higher level than simple 3 Dimensional beings. Solaris is by far the most powerful enemy in the Sonic franchise, (except mabye the comics. I haven't read them, but I know Sonic in them is far more powerful than the game counterpart.)

Solaris- took 3 SS to defeat him, didnt give their all (i mean sonic shadow and silver bc one of them taked him on first and then second giving some time to rest before going back to fight), was destroyed, god pf time and space
Dark Gaia- took 1 SS and Light Gaia (which has more power than chaos emeralds bc it revived them and didnt lose any power wjich makes it more powerful than super form and same power as 2 super forms) had no time for rest, had a shield, wasnt destroyed but going back to sleep which means he can still destroy the world and even beat sonic bc light gaia is gone bc chip is gone, god of darkness, has perfect form doubleing his power

Kinda easy. Emerl is incredbly superior, although both can copy their enemies, Metal can't copy the level of power, Emerl can, which means, even if metal could become stronger, emerl would just copy his power level. Also, Metal is made to defeat Sonic, Emerl is made to fight wars

And to boot this has metal the advantage that he doesn't relay on Chaos emeralds to power him so unless we talking UltiEmerl is Emerl heavily inferiore. A really interesting videos and it was really interesting hearing the analysis, but it was a pretty obvious answer. Dark Gaia just has no way to permanently kill Solaris while Solaris has multiple ways to kill Gaia. The only thing Gaia has over Solaris is physical strength.
Would be interesting to see you do something like this again. I would love to see a video to see who would win in a three way fight between Perfect Chaos, Biolizard, and Metal Overlord. I think that's a much more fair match up and could be really interesting. My money is on Metal Overlord.
Another suggesting would be Metal sonic vs Emerl. Since they both are robots who can copy other fighters. Once again I feel Metal would win that fight.

Okay, but weve never been shown any evidence that Dark Gaia can actually die. He can be defeated, but he will just come back in a thousand years or so...
There's only one outcome, solaris controls time and space, consumes time and space and is a transcendent lifeform so even if you somehow found a way to defeat it it still exists in the past and future.

Solaris is a time lord, a being able to controll time and space to unprecedented barrier. So it can essentially snap its fingers, and Dark Gaia is unable to exist, do to his liking of timelines as lunch.

Don't forget, Super Sonic one-shotted Dark Gaia's Perfect Form. It took 3 Super-form hedgehogs to completely kill Solaris. I think that speaks for itself. Still though, very cool analysis! Loved the effort and care put into this one.
it took 3 super forms because there were three main solaris. Each solaris was different but was as strong as the last. So saying it needed 3 super forms is pointless

As don’t forgot, Eggman himself stated it’s a transcendent lifeform that exists in all points in time. All 3 are the same in terms of power, but the difference is they’re different time periods of Solaris. Future one fought Silver, present one fought Sonic and the past one fought Shadow. The hedgehogs are in 1/3 across time to fight the Solaris’

@@presidenthaltmann4395 Well in Sonic Generations, Chaos Emerald had enough power to repel the Time Eater. That would mean that a Chaos Emerald is Universal+ on its own. I guess this would also Make Sonic Universal+. He took hits from the Time Eater and he survived. It doesn't look like it would be something to pull its punches. To further solidify this, in the 3DS version, Sonic is seen repelling the Time Eater with the boost. Neat.

The difference between SS forms is a 50x multiplier. Each level multiplies the previous by 50. Hyper form is similar in nature. Solaris had trouble with 3 Super Hedgehogs. 1 Hyper Hedgehog is worth 50 Super Hedgehogs. Hyper Sonic could have crushed Solaris like a bug, then warped to the next time period to do it again, until all 3 copies were dead. Since the Fan Character Nazo is capable of a Hyper form as well, he is easily far stronger than any canon Sonic villain ever made. If Nazo fought Solaris, he could very easily kill him. Dark Gaia wouldn't even be a fight, Nazo would just blow up Mobius. Even if DG survived, he'd suffocate in space, giving Nazo the win.

Alright all of y'all stop giving super forms super saiyan multipliers if it's Sonic characcters. A single emerald has unlimited power and energy (SA1 and Shadow The Hedgehog). You realize what this actually means. Infinite to a more Infinite for each emerald obtained. Each Super Emerald even a bigger infinite. Shadow the Hedgehog can temporary to endlessly use infinite power (which in his hero/dark state is invincible to all except death collisions) (weapon ammo doesn't decrease until guage ends) and even when he lost the emeralds he could still use it. Oh and Sonic (without any upgrades or emeralds/related is time travel fast (Sonic CD). I mean he is likely even faster (why would you have an infinity symbol while jetting?), and is holding back. Sonic can restore color and life with his acceleration through time. Maybe Chaos/Super Emeralds make it easier.

Solaris’ form varies depending on his emotions. His calm state is the normal flame form which enabled sonic and Elise to kill Solaris before he transforms/get’s angry.
We don’t know what Solaris is if he’s feeling happy.

This was Dark Gaia who by Dark Gaia standards had not slept for two weeks.
But here’s the thing you forgot about.... The downfall of DG awakening too early, was that it broke apart and scattered across the planet.... when Dr. Eggman developed EggmanLand, he was able to create a machine that actually gathered all of the scattered pieces of Dark Gaia (all of the creatures you fight in the game), and essentially completely rebuilt Dark Gaia.
Who’s to say solaris can’t do the same?
Solaris Would just destroy the entire Multiverse before it knew it killed Dark Gaia.

You forgot to mention that the only reason that Chip was able to bypass Dark Gaia's shield was because Chip was Light Gaia, the opposite of Dark Gaia, and their special powers (well, the special effects at least) cancelled each other out.

As possibly the only person here who hasn't yet played or watched a playthrough of Sonic Unleashed, I'm happy this was my first time seeing Dark Gaia. He's an incredibly powerful creature and I can't wait to fight him in due time

I'm so glad someone's out there doing work like this! I've wanted this in a Sonic channel for so long! To see the series' greatest giants called to battle for our entertainment! XD As disliked as the idea of eldritch monsters within the Sonic universe now is, they have an odd charm to them that I'd honestly hate to say goodbye to.
Personally, I would love to see a fight between Metal Overlord, and the Biolizard. A faulty creation attempting to be better than the very best vs. the abomination that was progress to perfection!
Dark Gaia utterly destroys Solaris, let's be real.
Dark Gaia could take on a much stronger Super Sonic than the one in 06, not to mention that he was also fighting Light Gaia as well, so Dark Gaia could take on the equivalent of 2 super states.

Not exactly, Solaris had omnipresence, he was only really fighting one super state at a time, and even then, Sonic and Shadow really weren't taking Solaris all that seriously, and Silver was inexperienced with using a super state. It's even implied that Sonic split his power regardless.
Even the Egg Wizard negs Solaris 6 feet deep, that thing took on 2 post-06 supers, and Sonic even admitted that he couldn't win without Blaze's help. It's pretty undeniable that the Egg Wizard severely outclasses Solaris here.

Because of the Egg Dragoon. The in-game encyclopedia even says that it is the pinnacle of Eggman's mad science, heavily implying that it's superior to the Egg Wizard.
And what do you know? The Egg Dragoon is powered by Dark Gaia energy, a very little fraction at that.
Yeah, Dark Gaia undeniably destroys Solaris with no difficulty whatsoever.

AP =/= DC. Basic scaling says otherwise. Using this same logic, Golden Frieza is only planet level, despite being leagues above SSJG, which threatened the universe alongside Beerus. Zamasu and Broly were also shown to only be threats to Earth, guess they're planet level now, huh?

Solaris may be ridiculously overpowered when compared to other verses, but he's severely outclassed here, his only advantage would be his omnipresence, but that just means he'll be put in an endless loop of eternal suffering by Gaia's hand.

Shadow has a much higher chance but metal has only has a few chances. If metal copies shadow's abilities then maybe the powers of shadow could be used against him.
You know, Neo Metal Sonic is able to copy more than innate, self sufficient powers. It can also copy powers that require a gem and turn them into innate powers. It only required team sonic and the chao to longer copy the powers of all 7 chaos emeralds, that's insane.
It took three hedgehogs to beat Solaris. It took one to beat Dark Gaia. That sealed the deal in my checkbook.

Dark Gaia exist as a dark entity. It's that energy that weakens the light (like the chaos emeralds) so in essence, we never fought Dark Gaia at our fullest when Super Sonic. Dark Gaia's very appearance - even in a transparent form - is an anti meta of dark energy that disturbs all forms of light. In other words he can essentially cut its power very significantly lower, which is why he was able to damage Super Sonic, who can at full peak be near universal in power.
Light exists on a 3rd dimensional plane of existence, and Dark Gaia weakens it, but he can't completely destroy it. Whereas Solaris on the other hand can. Not only does Solaris exist in all timelines, he also exists on a 4 dimension plane. The only thing our existence has to even remotely calculate this would be black holes, points of infinite density and gravitational pull that not even light can escape from it. The only way Solaris can be defeated or killed is not with the shared power of chaos emeralds. Yes, chaos emeralds in and of themselves can grant Sonic near universal strength, but only on a 3 dimension level of power despite being able to control time and space. Super emeralds however are the true forms of the chaos power and they draw direct power from the master emerald compared to the chaos emeralds. Sonic would only need one super emerald to go super, so when in Hyper Sonic form, it's possible for him to attack on the same 4 dimensional level as Solaris and not be damaged by any of his attacks.
If Hyper Sonic was against Dark Gaia, his power wouldn't change at all. Even if it did, he would be still be a threat to a galaxy if he ever turned, which is still way stronger than Perfect Dark Gaia.

The balance of light and dark is nonexistent if time is eaten. I also thought: imagine if when you fight solaris, if you spend too long, it will lose not because of the rings, but because time eates around it.
Truly Perfect Chaos (ALL the Chaos energy), Dark Gaia, Solaris, Solaris and anyone with the Phantom Ruby preferably Infinity but that isn't put yet.

Not even close, Solaris has feats comparable to Darkspine sonic, who deflected an attack from Alf- layla wa layla, who could destroy the multiverse of arabian nights. Solaris was 'eating' dimensions, which also translates to universe and timelines, and he was going to erase ALL of existence, which means in every universe. He is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. Solaris was so strong that he could not even be defeated by 3 Supers, he had to be sealed away and reset. If Dark Gaia went Super, he still couldn't come close to Solaris with an infinite amount of power ups, Solaris is still unbeatable even by modern standards, he's probably comparable or stronger than Alf- layla wa layla and darkspine sonic.

To add even more insult to injury, the only way to fully defeat Solaris conventionally is to go back in time and blow out the OG Solaris. This will poof Solaris out of existence. If this isnt done, you can beat the crap out of Solaris in all periods of time, time and time again, and you'll never be able to fully destroy it. DG never had a chance really. Also do you plan on making more of these versus? They are very entertaining

They never defeated him, that's stated by Eggman in the game. They never would have defeated him in combat, they had to reset time itself and seal Solaris away. Solaris was going to destroy all of existence, which means multiverse or more. Solaris is comparable to Alf- layla wa layla, who was gonna destroy the multiverse of arabian nights.

Between Super Sonic (once he got serious) actually one-shotting Perfect Dark Gaia with that hard blow, P DGaia getting rocked hard by light blows from Light Gaia as well as base Sonic putting THE EXTREME hurt on him- and i can go on- all that strength is probably his power, not brute strength. Otherwise the melee with light gaia wouldn't have been so sad (he was getting ROCKED HARD getting uppercutted, and through the whole fight, from his snakes to himself- his durability is nearly not existent, and not what it should be. Super Sonic blasted at his hands and arms, and he couldn't take it[this applies for either the Wii battle or PS4/XBOX battle as they do differ a little) - and one ACTUAL hit, flying through his head , he was about to die(and had to run away FAST, )
Solaris's "core" is WAY stronger than Gaia who got drilled and one-shotted effectively when Super Sonic actually tried to attack him for real, (not smack his hands away like he did all the rest of the fight when P D Gaia was attempting (and failing)to win the melee fight against Light Gaia )
And yeah, Solaris's Eyes of Solaris were the multiverse collapsing, they were time and space itself getting erased, as they expanded over time....
Solaris was also formed from the power of the Chaos Emeralds- and each one is infinite- so yeah, by the nature of his formation, he crushes Perfect Dark Gaia....
I personally think after he got nailed by that one serious of Blow of Super Sonic and was grievously injured and retreated- Super Sonic should have gone into the lava, and dragged him out, and smacked him around more(or fought him in the lava, and ended him, as Super Sonic can operate in Lava)- but they needed the story to make it so Light Gaia made his 'exit' of sorts...
As for the fight...an omnichronological omnipresent ,multidimensional lifeform that Shadow noted could actually possibly be a -fair fight - to them using the power of the Chaos Emeralds- ...with Solaris having dominion over space time and the Super Forms having the infinite power of Chaos, and Chaos Control if needed-
yeah, Chaos Control - if it had been used against Dark Gaia at all in any form - he'd be done immediately. Meanwhile Solaris's power brought Silver back to the others..(only Blaze escaped, and that'll be the Sol Dimension..)
Honestly, Solaris would probably grow to fight Perfect Dark Gaia- and in that case, Gaia's pitiful melee wouldn't cut it, since his strength isn't physical- and his power- is impressive(Iblis at full power is almost a better fight considering what he can do and his own Perfect-Chaos like immortality) - But Solaris is immortal and invulnerable a bit too hard...The hedhehogs had to attack his consciousnesses sort of like how Super Sonic had to calm the chaos in Perfect Chaos's heart- Gaia can't fully do that- and he can whack at him physically, maybe his core a little- but ultimately ,he doesn't have the tools to even compete. Size? Bet you Solaris can use his power to grow. Then, Perfect Dark Gaia finds out once again- he shouldnt step into the boxing ring. And that his energy beams don't have power like what Solaris's will have behind them. Oh wait, he's too busy getting rocked by light blows from Sonic the hedgehog and Light Gaia is literally knocking his block off.
I'll knock Solaris's projectile spike attack (I mean, SuperSonic hit him with unimaginable speeds, Super Shadow blasted away with pure energy at him ,and Silver..........flung his own stuff he..craps out back at him...fail on Solaris and Silver's part, but whatever)
Points for mentioning the intelligence thing- Solaris is Iblis(can't tell, he seems to be smarter than he lets on in the game)- and Mephiles(a extreme threat, he is very intelligent and knows how to control space and time also) while Dark Gaia doesn't have any brains- Light Gaia has all the brains.
One more thing- the ring thing is confirmed to be a gameplay mechanic, and isn't actually a thing in canon- so Super forms losing rings isn't really a thing that happens(not to mention, wasnt unleashed the game where the floating rocks HURT super sonic, yet in the doomsday zone he was blasting through bigger ones?) So, i dont think we can really say they could bypass supe rform invulnerability, solidly - because of weird stuff like the 'harmful' floating rocks that happened during that fight.
Super Sonic should have kept tapping the emerald's power , gone in the lava, dragged PDGaia back up, and ended him- or gone after him into the lava, and dragged him into the outer or inner core and smacked him around some more and ended him- Or base sonic should have pinballed on - er, THROUGH all his big eyes(and his two dragon eyes)- and he'd be blind and open to getting his block REALLY knocked off by Light Gaia..
/end the 'cycle',. Or be a cheapskate and Chaos Contol Perfect Dark Gaia right into the Sun (This has a small chance of killing PD gaia straight up ,even. [note: This wouldn't work as well on the omnichronological Solaris] - then once there at the Sun with PD G , kill him there anyway just for heck's sake. Then Light Gaia doesn't have to watch over him anymore.
/Do Metal Overlord vs Devil Doom[This would be an awesome fight involving Chaos Control ] , or Chaos (Pick a form, or use them all vs Iblis (all of his forms)). Those are fights i really want to see, as all contestants can bring a fair amount to bear (Picking up Egg Fleet pieces/buildings to throw at each other and wielding CHAOS CONTROL to blank check space time, or summoning infinite amounts of water and lava against each other....)

The Sega Scourge - 【The Sonic Theorist】 The strongest dragon Ball villain who is the One Above All(something like that) the one that looks like small allies child. He was stated to be only able to wipe out a *few* universes. Not only that but in one DBS episode, he travelled in the future and they were supposedly two versions of him that met. They were confused when they met each other which means he doesn't have omnipresence like Solaris has.

Terrence Scriven There are multiple versions of Zeno. There is a Zeno in every timeline, meaning he isn't completely above the laws of time and space. Zamasu was becoming one with the universe but wasn't able to destroy it on a whim. You could make the argument that time eater was stronger than Zamasu as time eater destroyed an entire space time continuum in one go

i kinda disagree, obviously the power to control time and space is incredbly op, however, you can't assume that the laws of physics works on gods the same way it does on humans/mobians. and since dark gaia is almost am embodiment of destruction, getting to solaris on three different time periods would be easy, que could probably tear the space with brute force if he wants, since he is a god of absolute destruction. i would vote for dark gaia in the end

Guys, just know Sega said it themselves that Solaris is the strongest boss ever. This means after Dark Gaia was introduced. Solaris only craves destruction and despair. Also, Eggman clearly states that standard attacks won't work on it. So as physically strong as Dark Gaia is, his punches or claws aren't gonna do a single thing to Solaris.Also, Dark Gaia is planet Level while Solaris is like Multi Universal Level.
People forget that Solaris eats timelines for lunch and is very gluttonous. He's like a Kirby where Kirby can endlessly consume lots of things like a Vacuum of Space. Solaris can do that effortlessly if it wanted to. Super Silver and Super Shadow are both more powerful than light Gaia.
Solaris can't erase anything but its still a whole lot stronger than Dark Gaia. Solaris is literally Omnipresent. Solaris is literally a god of time. It can change the fabric of time itself.
The only way to defeat Solaris is a core but even then the only reason Sonic and gang won was that they blew out the flame. I doubt Dark Gaia can actually do that. Also, Solaris is smarter than Dark Gaia. Without destroying the core, Solaris is basically impossible to stop.
What we should be debating is who would win between Dark Gaia and Perfect Chaos. I think that would be a more worthy debate.
I enjoy playing the Devil's Advocate so just know I'm not seeking heavy debates but more about bringing new information to light which can scale Dark Gaia/Perfect Dark Gaia to a single body of Solaris and potentially more to provide a challenge for Solaris.

Yeah, Dark Gaia has some interesting feats that are overlooked and even unexplained by the game but when you dig into the source material; there is a story told in the Japan version more complex than what is seen in the English version but lets focus on the weird parts that can only be explained by the Sub; not the dub lol.
1. Dark Gaia's energy upon awakening was enough to override Super Sonic "after" his battle with Solaris. And Dark Gaia's energy at sleep was non-existent so while waking up, his passive energy was enough to shatter the planet and override the Chaos Emeralds being used in unison to create Super Sonic and *this* was Super Sonic after the Solaris Battle; about 2 years later leading into Sonic Unleashed.
2. Dark Gaia along with Egg Salamander, Solaris and Phantom King are the only known entities to damage Super Sonic and each villain has their own explanation. Egg Salamander surpasses Egg Wizard with the Power of the Stars which held up alternate realities/parallel universes. Solaris is just Solaris; a Super-Dimensional Entity and Phantom King had the Phantom Ruby which was "passively" breaking the boundaries of dimensions just by existing. Dark Gaia's explaination is; "It achieve The Perfect Form" which is vague in English Terms but but with Proper Context, it becomes another story.
Sega does its research and it really enjoys the idea of creatures called *Conceptual Entities* which are their own category of power comparable to Solaris. For example, Chaos Emeralds have been confirmed to have limitless power but never explained why unless you look into the original source material.

I was rooting for Dark Gaia, but knew Solaris would probably would win. I guess I'll be THAT guy and say that the events of Sonic 06 isn't canon, but where's the fun in that? But if these two would actually fight it would be a never ending battle. If Dark Gaia killed Solaris, it would come back from another timeline, but if Solaris killed Dark Gaia, Dark Gaia would regenerate after thousands of years.
I wonder if Solaris destroys the Earth, does that essentially kill Dark Gaia? Dark Gaia is a part of the Earth, and despite being Immortal, wouldn't have anywhere to reform after thousands of years. He might just be floating in space, his job of destroying the Earth already done for him.
