I have this kettle. It is ideal for me as Im single and live alone in a small apartment. However given the size of this mini kettle it would not be recommended for a large family. It does sometimes sell for $180.00 Australia dollars - which is expensive and over priced in my opinion. So best to buy when on sale at a cheaper reasonable price. Personally the amount of plastic the kettle is made out of is not an issue for me, as it means that the outside of the kettle will not be "hot" which is a good safety thing, the really only downside is that the Kettle is made in China, and not Italy or another European country. I would rate the kettle 8 out of 10.

Thank you for the info and tip! 🙂 Do you have the kettle already? Mine is already broken 😞 you can still use it but it does not open and close good anymore. It’s not as hardwearing as I thought it would be. The connector part of the lid to open and close it is so fragile and thin that it broke already after 3 weeks. I was even careful with it all the time because this is the most expensive kettle I ever bought. But it didn’t live up to my expectations. I thought when you choose a very popular and expensive brand that it would last better and more durable but it is not always the case. For now, they will send it back to Smeg and hopefully it won’t happen again but seeing how thin the broken part is, there is a bigger chance it will.

Hello, it’s not durable at all. I need to send mine back so they can check it. A plastic part of the hinge(or I don’t know how it is called 😅) is broken already. It does not open and close good anymore and I only have it for 3 weeks which is really disappointing. I hope they can fix it and it won’t happen again but with my old very cheap one, I never had a problem with it. With this I was even careful and still it broke. 😔

Will I use white vinegar or lemon juice for cleaning Giselle what have you found effective 🙂
I returned this unfortunately. I replied to someone explaining what happened or I pinned that comment. But normally, I use water filter called Brita so I don’t really need to do it because I hardly see any water limes inside.
For cleaning because the water filter does it job wonderfully, I just clean it with a regular dish soap and non abrasive brush/sponge
It is effective. I always clean my kettle of scale by boiling water and vinegar in it, then letting it cool down and boiling it again. And now I have a glass kettle, so I can see everything.

Hello, I don’t have this anymore because I returned it and got my money back for it since it had defect after 3 weeks. If I remember it right, the cord was not that long. It won’t reach 1meter I think
