Answering a few common questions here: - "What is Notion?" I think this video has gone beyond the Notion niche here on TH-cam, so if you're confused or new to Notion, it's essentially a productivity app/no-code tool that lets you build your own custom dashboards and workflows. It's great for taking notes, tracking tasks, managing projects, and a lot more. Here are some of my build guides: th-cam.com/play/PLzyqWC0hTxc-hJH2n6mVp1W8OAPSl1kcV.html Here's my playlist for beginners: th-cam.com/play/PLzyqWC0hTxc-4cuvDjb1eTMes0OoFV2B_.html - "Why not just write the code yourself?" (in Example 7 at 07:22) I've seen quite a few programmers give this feedback, and I can see why - the example I showed in the video required a pretty verbose prompt. But it can currently write useful code even with a shorter prompt, such as "In JavaScript, write a function that reverses the order of the elements in an array and also reverses the order of the characters in each element's string." Notion AI answered this correctly in about 3 seconds; more importantly, I didn't know how to write a function like this. Hopefully this second example demonstrates how AI can be quite useful in a programming context! Today, we have to search Stack Overflow or go through code documentation to learn how to use syntax that we don't currently know. Tomorrow, we may still do that - but we'll also be able to simply write a prompt like the one above - if not for writing production code, at least for learning! Pro-tip: I've found that you can also ask Notion AI to ~explain~ what a piece of code is doing.
Yeah but you're still writing pseudo code at that point. With copilot you can literally say hit the poke api and output the weight of each and it will figure it out.
After setting up myriad systems for business management in notion for the past week.... I could see how crazy it would sound being explained at random. 😂
this edit is insanely clean. incrediblely solid content, great editing pacing and transitions for granular details/zooms, solid narration, and very well placed minor memes that doesn't overdo it or break pacing of the knowledge portion of the video.

From ChatGPT. The surface area of a sphere with a radius of 20 can be calculated using the formula: Surface Area = 4πr^2 where r is the radius of the sphere. Substituting r = 20 into the formula, we get: Surface Area = 4π(20)^2 = 4π(400) = 1600π ≈ 5026.55 Therefore, the surface area of the sphere is approximately 5026.55 square units.

It actually solved the surface area example as the area of a flat sphere in 2D or a circle as commented in the "let's think in step", thus, πr² = 1256.6370, whereas Wolfram calculated the surface area in volume in 3D, thus, 4πr² = 1600π or 5026.5462. With the formulas, you can verify whether it's correct or not. GPT also makes errors in Math, so it's important to double-check. The formula to calculate the surface area of a sphere is: A = 4 x pi x r^2 where A represents the surface area of the sphere and r represents the radius of the sphere.
Hey could do a video or series with notion and how it can help students? Specifically looking at important features and how to make pages that would help college students. Thanks I really am enjoying your channel.
I wasn't able to understand the Japanese language but judging how well it translated the Spanish and German one I can tell it's pretty good. I wonder how it translate from a proper Japanese sentence back to English or any of those languages. I think it got the spanish and german translation because of they are all Indo-European languages and english and spanish are very latin influenced but having a real Japanese or even Korean sentence translated into English there's always a lot lost in translation since their idioms and colloquialisms are different.
Thanks for sharing this Thomas! I've been using for Notion for three years now and didn't realise thse cool ones.. haha Looing forward for good finds in the future@
This is cool -- I think Notion should site the sources for the information. There are many examples of items I research that I start at Wikipedia just to find further links to dive into.
2:22 This is only an output of what somebody typed earlier. So, if they typed their own preference list, but people who prefer another list but didn't type it, this won't be the best 10 as a fact.
Thanks for the excellent and entertaining tutorial, as always, Thomas! As a native Japanese speaker, I can tell you that Japanese translation dropped ‘secretly’ and ‘the worst nightmare’ was’t great. Despite the fact, Notion AI translated back to the decent English tells me their Spanish and German translation was perfect?! 👏
10:33 The big problem with these systems is the unstable way you have to specify things. I doubt you'd be able to feed it this same English description next year and have it work the same. So in addition to needing to know the programming language and API, you need to know the ever-changing way to specify these things to the AI.

From ChatGPT.
The surface area of a sphere with a radius of 20 can be calculated using the formula:
Surface Area = 4πr^2
where r is the radius of the sphere.
Substituting r = 20 into the formula, we get:
Surface Area = 4π(20)^2
= 4π(400)
= 1600π
≈ 5026.55
Therefore, the surface area of the sphere is approximately 5026.55 square units.

With the formulas, you can verify whether it's correct or not. GPT also makes errors in Math, so it's important to double-check.
The formula to calculate the volume of a sphere is:
V = (4/3) x pi x r^3
where V represents the volume of the sphere and r represents the radius of the sphere.
The formula to calculate the surface area of a sphere is:
A = 4 x pi x r^2
where A represents the surface area of the sphere and r represents the radius of the sphere.
this is absolutely incredible
Amaaazing! Can't wait to try this out.🥺
@14:28 in JavaScript use 4 * pi * 20**2 instead of 4*pi*20^2
Both the Spanish and German translation was spot on.
That is very powerful!! just amazing.
Really amazing how this tool translates. And even in German it makes sense. Awesome…👍
Hey could do a video or series with notion and how it can help students? Specifically looking at important features and how to make pages that would help college students. Thanks I really am enjoying your channel.
Dope! Thanks man!
Hi, I am Japanese and confirmed that the Japanese translation by the AI was correct. Good video as always! ありがと!
Hello Thomas, thanks for the video first of all!
I wonder what brand and model your microphone is.
Spanish was perfect 😊
The 2nd sentence in German was kind of meeehh. Sentence structure could be better and the "secretly" got lost too.
@@NataschaBuckConsulting Well, my guess was that all of these problems was caused by the Japanese translation..😊
@@kayokok.corbet7107 agree!
Thank you fr yr efforts, sir.
10:33 The big problem with these systems is the unstable way you have to specify things. I doubt you'd be able to feed it this same English description next year and have it work the same. So in addition to needing to know the programming language and API, you need to know the ever-changing way to specify these things to the AI.
6:54 The German translation was spot on 👌
That is actually mind-blowing!
