    • @turbotroll8605
      @turbotroll8605 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically when the USAF sends F-22s and F-16s out here they come through Japan, so it's not unusual to see KC-135s based at Kadena out here. The B-52 at 6:34 was nondescript with no obvious markings, and was actually parked with 5th Maintenance Squadron engine covers on it. The fuselage skin was all wrinkled and I fear the old girl is not long for this world. The USAF C-17 was scheduled to fly on Saturday but suffered a bird ingestion about 4-5 seconds before rotation. Big flash of flame out the back of the engine followed by a thump (caused by the fuel not the bird), reverse thrust and she was all over for the day

      The H model B-52s (the only model still flying) actually have a much shorter fin than the A - F models had, aka the "tall tails". Boeing redesigned the vertical stabilizer in the G and H models and made it much shorter than the A - F tall tails after several incidents involving the vertical stabilizer breaking off in flight during severe weather, with the loss of some aircraft. As others have pointed out they do have a crosswind crab system built into the quadricycle main landing gear so they can land without having to yaw to runway heading in the landing flair, but they're also very flexy with a lot of old fashioned flight control cables so they're a bit of a handful compared to more modern heavies.
