even when you don’t “homeschool” that day i feel like your kids learn so much through play and exploration
Oh my gosh the kids playing airplane made me crack up so hard! Little Peace wrapped in her blanket is just adorable 😁❤
IKR?!?🤗🤗
I can’t wait to watch you do your huge meal preps in your new kitchen❤❤❤
You, Sarah, are an industrious, joy-filled mom of many with extensive "hobbies" because of your involvement in the lives of your family as well as all of the homemade products you create for consumption (i.e. sourdough breads, etc. and all of the special seasonings you create in order to put in the best spices without all of the added preservatives), as well as non-consumables (i.e. candles and tallow balm). This is not even to mention your "hobby" of your livestock on your farm. You have more than a full time "job" just managing your family as well as your TH-cam channel. You are a blessing to your family and to your subscribers.
Here’s a suggestion for keeping the legos off the floor when the kids are building with them. Get some cheap nine by thirteen (or whatever size works for you) foil pans. The kids can put the Lego pieces in the pans while they’re using them and then just use the floor for building. I did this many times when I worked in daycare and it was a lifesaver.
Good tip when I have somewhere to store the pans 🤣
@@OurTribeofMany you could stack them together and put them in a plastic bag somewhere out of the way. I worked in a classroom with limited storage space and stacking the trays together made them more compact. 🙂
Dear Sarah… you’re doing wonderful!! Bless you from head to toe sweet mama!
I am so glad that you said that you are teaching your kids new things while you are learning new things because I was definitely going to make that comment. This makes for a perfect homeschool day. They are learning more than you would think. So are we, your audience. Thanks for sharing another great video. See you on the next one.
Good morning all happy 4th of July independence day for today and I hope you having amazing day
Thanks! Happy 4th of July to you too!
Americans need to remember that July 4th is our day of independence from England and not just a holiday away from work or other occupations. Our Independence Day came at a heavy cost of human lives, both American and British.
@@OurTribeofMany your welcome sending love ❤️
Love the chickens roosting in the trees! It is great that Solo takes over when he comes home from work. Maybe it is self preservation on his part! LOL!
Oh man, playing aeroplane? That's SO cute!
Right??!!.
Such great imaginations!!
Love all the busyness!!!
I put mine in the freezer in a stainless steel bowl and when it’s hardened I take it out and on the bottom will be dross, I scrape it off and bring it to a boil and repeat the freezing and scraping process until there is no longer any dross on the bottom. I learned this from fat tire farm homestead on youtube. It’s a great video! God bless you guys very much❤️😇👵
Get mats for the Legos. It keeps the Legos closer together. Some still get off, but it is easier to direct the child to gather them back together. They can move around, but they know where to go if you say get them back on the mat. I love your children. I know this will work for them. You're on your own with the kinetic sand😅.
Great tip!
Top sheet from the thrift store works too.
The worst Legopiece to step on is the Lego Batman helmet...
🙄🤪
Ouch
oh the famous Lego heads! 😢😂
@@alicepeters2729 but the ears on the Lego Batman helmet are the worst ever 😱
Sara Thank you Thank you for sharing real life mom life with us!!!! You make life not feel so alone! I Totally was feeling All these feelings and I had to come back and just say Thank you so much! Truly God Bless you and your family. I too laugh at what is a hobby 😂 too many TH-camrs including myself someone second guess should I share real life. I’m a mom to 8 and I just appreciate you for sharing. 🙏🙌❤️
A friend of mine has a trick with Legos. The trick is put a flat sheet on the floor and the Lego’s has to stay on there. The cleanup is easier too.
Your children are learning everyday. You’re doing a great job Sarah.
I love how you always look on the bright side 🥰
You are such an amazing wife, mom, teacher and homemaker/homesteader. Always a pleasure to watch!
Kids are so creative. My kids used to play office and made desks and typed on an old laptop. Love watching your family grow.
I have had 3 sets of litter mates and never had any problems. They were all bonded to each other. You are so much like my best friend, always trying to find/make things from scratch. Love you guys.
So exciting for new life .. ❤ still watching .
Ha, Brick gave you a barely there wave of acknowledgment. So comfy.😂
I grew up on a farm in Iowa and watching brings back memories. You are an inspiration in so many ways. Thank you for sharing your life.and your children. Precious ❤
Happy 4th of July! Just love watching your family's adventures. You are all so blessed.
You are the motivation queen! Seriously, you showing up like you do, sharing your real life is a huge inspiration.
You rock.
Sarah, you are so fun to watch. Such a positive person. What an education your children get--just living the life you live. ❤
I always think the same! Such a snazzy soul, a blessing to all! 💕👑
Happy Independence Day.❤🤍💙
Same to you!
Awe my 8 kids are going to love watching this video today. ❤ Thanks for sharing Sara 🤗
I can totally understand needing space because we have been living in a rv for 3 years and I definitely need space..we have our 2 grandchildren living with us fulltime for 5 years and they have emotional issues which can make living in space so challenging..God gives me strength for each day but want to figure out which direction He wants us to go in ..
Wow!
Yay on the baby chicks coming and coming early! My 4th grade class when I was in 4th grade did this. It’s so neat to watch them hatch and care for them while they incubate! ❤
Bet that orange vanilla smells like a creamsicle. We love pretty smells & lotions.
Sarah... what will you be doing with the house you're living in now once the new house is finished? Maybe a first home for the soon to be newlyweds?
We will just use it for guests. Newlyweds have other plans.
@@OurTribeofMany So excited for them!
I make tallow for cooking and skin cream . Don’t let the beef bits start frying while rendering the fat .Put the slow cooker on low and ladle the liquid fat off with a soup spoon as soon as it melts. I do this slowly thru the day and let it rest in a pot. Once the beef in the fat starts frying the flavour saturated the tallow. At the end of the day I heat the melted tallow back up and strain it thru large paper coffee filters. It gives a beautiful snowy white tallow with a neutral smell.
Thanks!!!! I’ll try that next time
How is Solos family? We having been praying for them.
Everyone is fine.
Try lemongrass essential oil, it smells amazing. I put it in my hair concoction that I spray daily on mine and my granddaughter’s hair daily, I’m black and my granddaughter is mixed race and it works and smells great on both of our hair👍🏿
I can sympathize with you about small houses and rain. I had three kids in less than 600 square feet without plumbing until the oldest was six. Now that we've been in the big house for eighteen years I both miss the little house and can't imagine how we did it. All debt free.
WOW! 600 sq.ft That sounds impossible !
Wow those baby chicks are so cute. Your homesteading projects are your hobbies. Hobbies make us happy and you sure get happy when you try something new. You are so daring to try so many new things. Your kids will grow up to be great people with your excellent modeling. You are inspiring people daily. 🎉
This grandma is going to be helping (a little bit) with first time homeschooling of our oldest grandchild this year. As always Sarah, you inspire me. I'm lazy... my dermatologist recommends vaseline... cheap and easy. HAHA
Thank you for taking us along on your day! 🇺🇸 xo
Just wonderful Sarah, glad the chicks are breaking free. 😊😊
You can add arrowroot powder to cut down on greasiness! Love your homesteading spirit!
Your videos and Ruth Ann Zimmerman's are my favorites!
Good morning everyone 🌞 and happy independence day and God bless everyone ❤️🎊🙏
Same to you!
Hi Sarah! Love watching your videos my kids can't wait to watch on TV. Became a family video to watch 😊. I just realized does your videos help your family overseas to see how your family is doing and watching the younger grow! Must be useful for family to keep in touch!
I’m pretty sure there’s a method where you add water to the warm tallow then shake in a jar with lid and turn upside down when it cools you can pour the water right off. Looks really clear
Interesting!
I LOVE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY...YOU ARE SO REAL ON PARENTING..I WATCH YOUR SHOW, SINCE BELLE WAS ABOUT TORI'S AGE
So this is what i do for pure tallow. I wash it several times. Like around 3 -4 times. How you do that is put it in water in a pan on the stove and boil it about 10 min. When cool to touch put it in fridge until oil forms on top. Take that solid oil off and repeat process with fresh water about 2-3 more times and your tallow will be white as snow. Not hard at all. And the first time i do it i take tje broth and freese dry or dehydrate and i haven't wasted a thing. 😂
I do the same but use my crockpot outside. The smell can be too much for some people.
Thanks for the info!
Was looking for this comment! It really does make a difference to “wash” it several times!
You have so many hobbies!! Are you kidding me!! You’re the woman across the room, you accomplish so much!!!!
Hello. New to your channel. Mom, you're so pretty, down to earth, caring, loving & very involved..❤😊
Welcome!!
Watch The Hollar Homestead, Meg shows how she does hers. I think it's under the Playlist- Our First Beef Harvest.
Yes! Meg is a busy mama just like you! If you have time, check her out.
You're a great example to the kids about being self-sufficient. Trying to make your own stuff is a great lesson. How about an audio book, even a chapter to relax.
I make my own tallow balm and even use essential oils but, never thought about using vanilla. Will have to try that
Your sweet Sara!! Love your family!! ❤️🤗🙏🙏🤗❤️
Happy 4th, guys! Glad that you're much better!🎉🎉🐣🐣
Sara I added the “Just lime “ powder packets to my homemade taco seasoning, Game Changer!!
Yum!!! I must try this!
When you perfect that beef tallow moisturizer, please do a TH-cam tutorial. Thank you
Can you please do a tutorial on how to make kombucha?
I have done a video on it when I first began making it.th-cam.com/video/M4QGE7QG64Q/w-d-xo.html
Sarah that's so cute that they play airplane ✈️ what a great imagination for them. Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸🎇 enjoy your time with family.
It’s incredible the new things you’re making.
Love the chickens in the trees
Clever chickens!
Oh the little 🐥 we’re so gorgeous I’ve never seen that hatching thing before. So cute. Kinetic sand gets all over my kitchen floor with my 4 year old also 😵💫😂
Thank you for acknowledging that small houses are harder to keep clean. We are a family of 8 in 1700 sq feet, 3 bedrooms, no basement or bonus rooms and we are squished. We also homeschool and my husband works from home 🤯
We hatched a brood of chicks a couple of years ago. It was such fun.
my hobbies canning n cooking for my family. my kids are grown now n will be here fri thur tues
I love to hear how much Peace is talking about she has the sweetest little voice. Makes me miss baby voices around the house.
That balcony is where I'd be, with my book! 🤗📚
Lady, you stay busy all the time! I love that printer!! I hope it’s still available next week when I get paid. Your kids are so fortunate to experience so many wonderful things! From eggs hatching to living in Kenya for a month. A beautiful life! I hope you have a balcony to escape to in the new house. Thanks for the great video!
Hi Sarah a dedicated emulsion blender will do a great job. You can use it for soap making as well!
Should make a couple of landings for them lovely Chicky's in the tree's, safe zones off the grounds..
How fun! In my experience the tallow by itself is too hard so I like to cut it with either olive oil or coconut oil.
I love you Sarah in many ways you are a beautiful Soul to watch. A beautiful Mother with a heavenly heart. Jesus light can be seen in you and Family beautiful ones. Keep it up with Jesus in your midist. You are all so beautiful 😍 😊 ❤🎉
For tallow making, if you want a lot more tallow later on, grind the fat and you want to use a larger crock pot. you'll get more and it comes out cleaner. if you want to get the finer bits that make it not as clean, use a cheese cloth while you strain it. we've been making our own tallow for about 30 years now, from beef and pork. so we have gone through a lot of trial and error. it was messy :)
I love that printer! I have one and it’s so handy and easy to use. Love it!
Happy Independence Day, Mwania Family🇺🇸🎆Sarah, I’m sure you know this, but just to make your life easier and even more efficient, 3 teaspoons equal 1 tablespoon. So when you’re measuring all those spices dipping into the jar just 2 times versus 6 can really make a difference! Have a happy, safe holiday weekend! Thanks for the video🤗
😂I love how the children play and have new imagination. I love your channel!
I would think that the closer your new house gets to completion the more you're going to feel the need for more space!
I' just clarified a batch of tallow!!! It's super easy, you just add water to it. Then fridge, and it separates. I repeated that 3x, and mix just with jojoba oil before whipping.
I was worried about losing the good tallow nutrients, but apparently that doesn't happen!
It just separates and water cleans the tallow off. No smell at all on the finished product.
My great grandmother used to use vanilla for perfume.
Oh Dear Sara….i think the combination of coming off Kenya trip (lots of open space) and seeing just how CLOSE the new house is to being finished…. is just making all those feelings intensify (house is too small, no privacy, too much closeness and Noise Noise Noise). AND people who think you need a hobby …oh golly ..pay them no mind … maybe your hobby can be just taking a NAP once in a while ! Hobby’s will come after children are raised ….
Isn’t that the truth, my goodness Sarah stays too busy for a hobby lol
It's so funny, I just found this other TH-cam family that is about the same size. They live super tiny and minimal in a very small house ( like maybe half of this farmhouse). I can't imagine but they seem like they manage. We're in a small under 1000 square foot house but only 4 people. Sometimes it doesn't bother me and sometimes it makes me nuts. 😂
Look into wet rendering your tallow. When I need mine to smell less beefy I’ll render it up to 3 times before using it.
Happy 4th of July 🎉
You might really like the results from wet rendering your tallow for skin care. Bumblebee Apothecary has a great video on this process.
It is much faster than the regular method and the clean results mean my husband doesn't think he is sleeping with a French fry😅!
Boy did you have a busy day !! Bet you sleep good !! 😀😀
Love the little chicks so cute
You can cook the tallow again in the crackpot with water. The water washes it and will separate. Some people will do that part 2 to 3 times to get it as clean as possible .
I work at a preschool. We give each child a cookie sheet to work on. Just the inexpensive ones. They use it forlegos, playdough, painting and anything else like that. The rule is you keep your materials on the cookie sheet. It really helps define their space as well. No one can take anything from your tray.
Love this idea!
The other really cool thing with cookie sheets, you can get the magnetic letters for the younger ones. They can start spelling out words and their names. All the letters stick to the cookie sheet helping to keep them together
I think you have to render the smell out of the tallow by simmering it with water a few times and letting it cool taking the rendered tallow off the top. Eventually the smell will disappear. See the Hollar homestead...
Put the tallow in a pot with a couple of litres of water and simmer on stove for half an hour then put it in fride to set remove tallow repeat and that will help with the smell hope this works for you
I so love you and your family. I love updates on the new house. I know y'all miss your pool. Thank you for sharing your family.please do not swim in the pond it can have so many bacteria, ecoli so many harmful things!!!
Hobby? About 10 years ago I watched The whole series of Murder She Wrote on my Kindle. I didn’t watch TV in the 80’s and 90’s because I was working and raising kids! I missed the whole Mash and Seinfeld era too.
Never a dull moment in your household for sure. You just make me happy… always keeping that beautiful smile, sending hugs, love, prayers and kindness with a daily dose of encouragement. Hope you all have a beautiful and wonderful Fourth of July. ♥️🙏🏼🌹👍🏼🇺🇸
Hola
God Bless Sarah, you know what stressed is spelled backwards. Desserts! Get some rest!🙏✝️💖🎉🎆😊🌻
I absolutely love all your videos and I've been around for many many many years, I don't usually comment on things but I do have a suggestion. I'm pretty sure they sell nets that you can buy that goes around the trampoline and just for the safety of all the kids I think it would be a good idea because a lot of kids get hurt from falling off the trampoline and by having the net that would help prevent that. Definitely not telling you what to do you have a lot more experience in raising kids than I have. Just A suggestion I just don't want to see anybody get hurt
The kids should pick up those legos before starting another fun time. Like playing airplane!
Sarah, Homegrown Hand gathered has a video on rendering deer tallow so that it does not have a strong smell.
If you search homegrown hand gathered plus tallow, it may prove helpful.
(I cannot find my comment. Apologies for the repeat)
(I think I added an “and” to their name)
Happy Independence Day!🇺🇲 🎇🎆
Same to you!
That first little hole in the eggs is called a "pip" This is the start of them breaking out.
