Took my New Nano to the range,( this is after I had put 2,500 flawless rounds of all kinds of Ammo) and I brought along the LC9S. Shot 100 rounds from one gun and then the other and then again. Later shoot some Hot ammo from both gun. Without a doubt the Nano prevailed in all areas. Just a terrific gun. No where near the snap of the Ruger. I normally do not have a problem with the Recoil of the Ruger, but for the first time, with this many rounds, it was really gettting to be a discomfort. The Nano on the other hand, well, I could have shot it all day long. So smooth for a Micro 9mm. The Nano is one of the most underrated guns out there and build like a tank. Seriously, designed for the 40.cal, and the higher pressers of that cartridge the Nano is built tough in all areas. Truly a fantastic CCW. And one of the smallest in AOL and Height. Shoots a lot smoother than the Kahr also. Great review!
I had the same experience when I compared the Ruger LC9s to the Glock 43. The Glock had about half the recoil the Ruger did. I have the Nano and it's my favorite.
Justin Opinion you are the man brother. Appreciate all the work and time you put in to your channel! Your videos are simple, relevant, and contain all the necessary content needed for the products you are using or talking about. It's rare that gun channels have no "fluff" involved. Keep up the good work my man!
Thanks much. I can't promise that I don't get weird sometimes, but I try hard to give meaningful information in a light entertaining way. Appreciate the comment!
My Beretta Nano is the most accurate concealable handgun I own.. pinpoint accuracy for me out to 10yards. Other pistol I own still have pretty tight groups at that distance, but with the Nano I literally stack the rounds on top of each other. We put a gel block behind a paper target and 5 of the 7 rounds were touching each other in the block. The other 2 rounds couldn't squeeze a pencil between them and the other bunch of rounds without pushing the rounds away from each other. I'm not bothered much by the long trigger pull, definitely hate the full reset of the trigger. But with accuracy like that I'm not letting this go unless I can achieve those same results with another (concealable) pistol with a shorter reset. Believe me I've tried. Because Beretta Nano parts and accessories are few and far between with some high prices on spare mags.
I have an early serial number nano and the only issue I've had is a broken magazine release button. Easily replaced 2 dollar part from brownells. My nano eats 115g white Winchester and steel tula for breakfast no problems! Forget a holster and go with the technaclip for maximum pocket carry.
I just purchased one of these for my daughter, I haven't picked it up yet from the FFL dealer. I hope it is reliable. I've seen alot of what appears to be ammo related issues. Hopefully its not the weapon. I carried a 92 for years in the military and felt confident in the weapon. I enjoy your no-nonsense reviews. Good video!! Thanks
You're welcome. I have done a follow-up video recently, you should check it out. The pistol performed much better and earned my confidence. Your daughter should practice with it and break it in, just to be certain. The stakes are far too big to risk the unknown.
Robert Burleson Try shooting 124gr Winchester Nato ammo which is a +P round. The early problems were with 115 gr rds. Tjis was build as a 40 cal pistol & it didn't work well with 115 gr rds.
Thanks Jerry. I typically carry 124 grain HST for my Walther PPQ which is my carry weapon. I still haven't fired the Nano yet but I'm confident it will perform with the 124gr. Looking forward to give it a try. After I use some of the heavier rounds, I'll step it down to the 115 for plinking.
subscribed a while ago. love the self-deprecating humor. glad to see Beretta doing well. here in CA it's so much unobtanium, but glad to see it all the same.
My EDC as well. I have had problems with 115gr, so now I stick to 124gr. Very easy to conceal and I hardly know its there. Not super accurate, but I keep it on the target.
The Nano did not have the Talon in your first video. I own one hand have no trouble with it. However, many people have had extraction issues. It should be said that it was made to be a 40S&W, then chambered in 9mm. This is why the recoil springs and extractor on the first ones had to be worked on. My Nano stopped hitting me in the head after about three hundred rounds were fired. Great video.
I haven't read all the comments but it should be noted that the Nano has an interesting feature reviewers seldom mention...the decocking button. It's on the frame way in the back above the thumb groove. You need a pen tip to actuate it (I use a handcuff key nub).
I've owned the Nano for a few years now. Frankly, I like it better that my Shield. It's purpose built to be smoother, smaller, less complicated than a hammerless snub-nose. Almost never mentioned is that, since it was originally designed for the .40SW, it's noticeably more robustly built than any other similar-sized 9mm. One only needs to look at it side-by-side to a S&W or Glock to see the difference.
Agree it is alot like a modern snub noise replacement. I owned a shield in .40. I was exited about it because I like the .40.... what a let down. The rounds that thing would feed was FMJ, and it had a horrible trigger with no reset. It went back twice... never loaded a hp on its own. But love my Nanos... things are built like tanks.
I just wish they would release a complete slide assembly including barrel in 40sw. I did very minimal "work" to mine to make it more reliable and easier to shoot. There was an issue with the nano breaking the plastic striker guide. I never had the issue in 800 rounds however one of my friends bought the gun because I raved about it and her purchased one. He ended up contacting Beretta 3 times for a replacement (they sent it out free of charge) he almost gave up on the gun until he discovered that Galloway Precision made a stainless steel striker guide and a spring kit. I purchased the kit as well at $31 though I put the factory trigger spring back in mine after a trip to the range. I also polished the trigger bar and the chassis where they touch which took about 1.5 pounds off the trigger pull. And I bought the 18 pound recoil spring/rod to shoot higher pressure ammo without having added recoil (even though the Nano soaks it up quite well with the factory spring) I also put 3 very tiny grooves in the striker body with my Dremel to help eliminate "hydro-lock" (or whatever it's called when you pull it out of water and it just goes click). The night sights I found on eBay for about $40 less than what Beretta wants for them. I actually have pinpoint accuracy with my nano or to 20 yards which is something I don't have with any other pistol than my 4inch 357 mag revolver in single action or my 327 federal magnum when shooting 32sw long. Unless I find another semiautomatic that concealable with that kind of accuracy, my nano will be a daily companion for me for a very long time!
My nano was a lemon....constantly Failing to Feed and Failing to Eject. I used 115 grain and higher grains as well. I'm glad yours is working out for you.
hpednick When did you buy your Nano? Is it from the 1st year of intro? Did you check the serial # on the Beretta site to verify the year of manufacture? I bought my Nano in Jul'17 & have used 124 gr Winchester Nato +P, 147 gr American Eagle & then 115 gr Remington. About 600 rds without a single FTF or FTE. It looks like the early Nano problems have been fixed & this is now my EDC.
Still my main EDC, my example of one has never had a failure. Just wish it had some kind of frame option or something to get a slide lock on there. Also they didn't really do anything with the frames besides colorations.
Hello, Still Liked & Subscribed. I saw a video on TH-cam where a young guy was experiencing the same ejection problem. Beretta said send it in, he did, & no more problem after at that time, 300 rounds! {Looks like they really did fix} Send it in !!! You have other guns to use during the wait. What have you got to lose? I like these videos you do, nothing like reallity, it's refreshing, compared to some of these other channels.
Great video! I personally like the Nano. I own two for work to keep my back ups universal (one for home office one for the travel box). Other than that both have the Beretta night sights there and talons they are stock. I like the Nanos because of the size, trigger, and how they handle vs other 9mm in similar size. I've never cared for the standard striker trigger in a deeper concealment pistol. The lack of slide catch is odd at times on the range but it not something you'd be using in a defense situation, and the Nano isn't the only pistol missing it. It does suck though when a range master wants you to clear your weapon and lock the slide back and he see you putting a magazine back in. I had issues with 115gr FMJ in both Nanos at first also. But after a couple hundred 124gr rounds the pistols broke in and they both seem to handle 115gr range ammo okay. But for the most part the Nanos seem to like 124gr and Plus P the most. On the range I use 124gr FMJ and typically empty my older magazines of Remington 124gr +P Golden Saber Black Belt. Otherwise I haven't found any common ammo in 124 the Nano would feed, but below 115gr it has issues. Thanks for the positive video on the Nano.
The trigger pull of my nano is SO HEAVY and LONG. I see a lot of nice compliments on this channel for this gun. Can someone tell me how to solve the problems above please. I oiled the internal of the gun really good but it did not help much. THANK YOU.
My nano is very accurate, shoots nice, but for me I find it a little difficult to pull back the slide. Its hard to grip and the spring is a little too heavy. I broke the gun down and sprayed some oil inside but it didn't seem to help that much.
My first Nano I owned hated that Sig V-Crown ammo. But only in the 8rd magazine. I sent the gun into Beretta and they were unable to replicate the issue with their HP Ammo. Got the gun and magazine back and still had the problem. Flush magazines fed the Sig ammo flawlessly. Bought another Nano (wife wanted one) Second Nano had no problems with the Sig ammo in either magazine. I gave up on the Sig ammo and use HST or Winchester Defend. They feed flawlessly through both guns. Just ordered a 3rd Nano on sale for $200 (after Beretta rebate). This makes a perfect Back Up Gun or "BUG" and a decent Hand Off Gun or "HOG" in a bad situation.
MichaelB277 Right now palmetto State armory has them on sale for 275 (technically $292 after shipping). Once you get the gun follow the instructions on the Beretta website. You'll need the serial number of your new gun. And you'll have to upload either the sales receipt or the 4473. Then just wait for Beretta to send you the $75
Pretty weird they have a slide stop lever on the Beretta Pico, but not the Nano. I know the Pico has a spring and slide stop lever that can be a pain when swapping grip frames, because they're loose and can fall out and be lost... but with a gun the size of the Nano, they could have easily made it captured (like the P320 and many other guns).
Interesting, Ive never had one single malfunction with any type of ammo (115, 124 grain, 115 plus P, brands such as armscos, magtech, sellier, pmc). I like it very much, is a real good weapon for concealment and very accurate btw
Justin I would love to see you do a head to head with the Kahr CM9 of this pistol as IMO they are very similarly constructed and in the same price point. I do not care for too many of the "Micro-9" pistols out there as they just feel very cheap and are not very comfortable to shoot. I have shot numerous Kahr pistols and have to say they are extremely reliable and handle very well be it a CM from the economy sector or a K series elite model at 4x the price. The Nano is probably the only pistol in the same braket as the Kahr in regard to design of operation and size as well. I would be curious to see how the Beretta Pico stacks up against other micro .380 pistols as well.
Subscribe while ago... gave you a like cause you asked, if help the channel. I probably had tried 7 or 8 sub compact since I started carry . Sold some kept others. Still have my Nano. It's not what I carry currently, but I'd not have a problem doing so. The bad reputation and low popularity, I believe cames due to the FTE often seen, ammo, springs, not sure. Don't even remember last time I had a FTE. And mine has seen close to 1000 rounds.
After multiple FTE's and two trips back to Beretta, mine had a major fail at 3k rounds. Barrel locking area peeled back enough to lock against the slide hood ! Pics on Beretta Forum (do an advanced search on their forum under my name for more Nano details).
I have never had a failure with 9mm NATO or 124g +p JHP but I still don't trust it for a self defense pistol. I also replaced the plastic guide rod with a steel rod.
Does the author and other Nano owners feel completely safe carrying this weapon with a striker block safety, instead of the hammer block safeties like the 92 series and PX4 Storm??
David Behrens the nano's trigger pull is so long somewhere about 8lbs out of the box, i still own this little pistol and the super long pull and trigger safty its impossible for a misfire, the gun is streamlined completely snag free, i would put it up against any sub-c 9mm and ive owned the m&p and the Springfield xd!
Justin I could tell you really didn't like suggesting people like and sub to your channel. Lol! Great stuff! I'm already sub'd but I will give this vid a like.
I didn't at all. Seems everyone does that, but I don't think trying to sell you guys Oxy Clean is my style. Feels like begging "please like me", which is icky.
Have had the Nano for several years now. At first I was having the FTE problems with 115 grain. I took my dremel and some polishing compound and polished ( not grind ) the chamber and feed ramp. Got a nice mirror finish, and have not had that problem since. Trigger is very smooth but it seems to take forever before it breaks and fires, similar to a Kahr. Wish that the trigger would hit a "wall" and then do a clean brake, like the HK VP9. Just my 2 cents
Failure to eject definitely a under powered 115grain issue, definitely not recommended for personal defense ,as a matter of fact the box said target and training ammo DUH training you how to clear a ftf or jam😊facts...
I love mine, the only thing that annoys me is that much like some other berettas when you fire hot ass rounds through it the shells fly straight fucking back into your face 😆
The gun is recommended in the user manual to be used with 124grain ammunition and higher like federal short barrel 158grain HST,, eats them like the cookies monster😉!! read understand and then review....
Have you seen or held both? The Nano is smaller than both the Shield 9 and definitely 45. It is the same width as the 9mm Shield and is shorter in height and length.
Why do manufacturers make guns that require hotter rounds for reliability. no thanks. good information for those who carry the nano. Sig all the way though. great video.
Nice Guy Eddie , good to know. I'm not big on plastic guns as a personal opinion and feel. But kinda hurts the pocket to shoot those types of ammo at range time. It should shoot the standard 115 gr. as reliability as those you mentioned. no thanks.
ParklandTactical it a defense pistol not a range pistol. It wasn't built for the shooters overall longterm comfort. It was built to conceal, fire a round as lethal as possible of its given caliber, and hit it target with lethal accuracy at reasonable ranges, while packing as many rounds into the pistol as possible, and finally this thing has to fit in to someone's pocket..... this won't be the the handgun you want to shoot all day. Either due to recoil or the cost of ammo.
Had my Nano out to the range last weekend. Mine consistently ejected straight to the right about 7ft or so. Had 2 failures to eject in the first 20, then ran like a top for the next 150.
You may want to research a little bit online and try to figure out when your Nano was made. I heard that they eventually started updating the gun with a new extractor or something to that effect. Don't quote me, but I think I remember reading on a it was around the 050XXX serial numbers that the change went in. My Nano is 082XXX and I have never had a hiccup with firing any 115 gr. Maybe if your's is an earlier issue, you can send it to Beretta for a fix. I might even email Beretta and see what they say, as I have stumbled across a few post talking about the FTE issue. Hopefully this helps!
Not mine! I shot all kinds of 115 gr ammo. In fact this past weekend we took a bucket of Remington 350 rds and this gun ate them like M&M's, It aso ate Tula Brass Max, Freedom Munitions, Lax ammo and many others. But I will say it does perform better with 124gr. What is interesting is the fact that this gun loves hot ammo and Plus P. And so easy to shoot them. Bravo to the Nano!
Seen alot off dislikes from various TH-camrs on this when it was first released. Was definitely interested then but the negative reviews stopped me. Really waiting on the CZ P-10 subcompact but this might be up for a buy if the wait is too long.
The trigger on the Nano is first class. It is a striker fired pistol that has a DAO trigger that is smooth and deliberate all the way through. When I hear someone say a DAO trigger sucks, it tells me they have not been shooting very long. Sorry, the Nano trigger is one of the best double action only triggers I have shot and I have been shooting for decades. Learn how to use a DAO and will not want a light striker fired trigger again. And much safer to boot. Especially for a small carry gun.
Took my New Nano to the range,( this is after I had put 2,500 flawless rounds of all kinds of Ammo) and I brought along the LC9S. Shot 100 rounds from one gun and then the other and then again. Love mine. I added Talon grips and Pearce grip extensions to my 6 round mags. I've never had an issue with ammo.
It's a nifty little shooter. Beretta has some compelling choices with their polymer offerings.
My Beretta Nano is the most accurate concealable handgun I own.. pinpoint accuracy for me out to 10yards. best concealed pistol ive ever owned so far!pretty badass looking, planning to get another one for my wife
While watching, I first time learned there is a Beretta PX4-Storm, not just the Pico, Nano, Bobcat & Tomcat. So much to learn.
I have an early serial number nano and the only issue I've had is a broken magazine release button. Easily replaced 2 dollar part from brownells. My nano eats 115g white Winchester and steel tula for breakfast no problems! Forget a holster and go with the technaclip for maximum pocket carry.

Try shooting 124gr Winchester Nato ammo which is a +P round. The early problems were with 115 gr rds. Tjis was build as a 40 cal pistol & it didn't work well with 115 gr rds.

I would be curious to see how the Beretta Pico stacks up against other micro .380 pistols as well.

I going to to try the 124 ammo on my Nano thanks
The trigger gets better with use
Simple question is the best pocket gun the nano for a guy ? Yes No. ( second opinion ?)
I just bought one of these off my neighbor
Do they still make them?
They do, indeed.
The gun is recommended in the user manual to be used with 124grain ammunition and higher like federal short barrel 158grain HST,, eats them like the cookies monster😉!! read understand and then review....
This gun seems pretty meaty and large for a single stack 9mm carry gun. shield .45 seems smaller.
Have you seen or held both? The Nano is smaller than both the Shield 9 and definitely 45. It is the same width as the 9mm Shield and is shorter in height and length.
Freeking love mine carried mine since it came out best 375$ ever spent
This gun was a good shooter for me as well but not reliable-SOLD!
Nano wont work with 115. Use 124 or better still use 147 gr
Yes the newer models don’t have issues with 115 ammo.
Yea they will. Reliably
124 grain NATO or greater ...
Pssshhh... Anyone can hit that. He's only 4 inches away! ;)
Seen alot off dislikes from various TH-camrs on this when it was first released. Was definitely interested then but the negative reviews stopped me. Really waiting on the CZ P-10 subcompact but this might be up for a buy if the wait is too long.
Fried Chicken Now definitely waiting on the p10s. May replace my beloved m&p 9c. They will be damn near the same size...
The Nano is very ergonomic but its trigger sucks so bad. I wish they'd do a 2.0 revised like the Ruger did with the LCP.
Call me old school, when I think Beretta, I think all metal 92 series. This gun just doesn't do anything for me, blah.
Lol, Ya might want to just shoot it Pops. You will change your mind in a hurry.
How come you support blue lives matter but not black lives matter?
Blackbillionaire804 Do you support White Lives Matter?
THATMOFODIRT never heard of it
Nice Guy Eddie due to the fact you aren't saying any facts, i will not respond to you anymore.
Blackbillionaire804 shouldn't you be watching CNN or something
@@TMoNeY8o4 Eddie stated nothing but very simple facts. haha Sorry.
