AMAZING TOOL especially for modular and analog stuff like the Volcas or Monotribes! thanks to one of the most creative FX-companies for making such cool things!
Robot Conglomerate I own quite a few EHX pedals (more than 10 of them) & I prefer their simple ones...The Neo Clone has one switch & dial and that is probably my favorite...A lot of them take quite a bit of study to figure out, like the Ring Thing & Ravi Sitar...Others like the Memory Boy are pretty easy to use, but there is too little nuance -- the modulations on that thing go from zero to crazy too quickly so most of the function of the pedal is spent on wild sounds that are usable in only certain contexts...Plus the guy who started the company comes across to me as a dirty old man trapped in an era of sexist pigs perpetuated today by Guitar World magazine.
Super mega ultra nerdy! Pretty cool. I would have to play with it for a while before it made sense. Thats what I like about it. I can see the usefulness of it.
This would have been a must buy to control say my SH-101 and other analogue gear had it had a MIDI IN port built into it so I could sync it to my D.A.W..... Maybe they'll incorporate that in the future ?
All the guitar heads are scratched their heads on this one while us synth dogs are like” yeah it’s a 4 channel clock divider in a pedal. You could use this to clock a delay pedal if it has a tap input like a DD-5.
could I use this to tempo sync my Alesis SR-16 drum machine.....with my RC-300 loop station ?? I would love to NOT be limited to the rudimentary rhythms in the RC300...but when I try to use both, it is impossible for me to keep them synced.
I think EHX makes fantastic pedals. I've bought many of them over the years without issues. But this will be left behind. I can't think of one reason this would or could be a benefit .Sounds like that electronic created dance music. Rather than give EHX a thumbs down, I'll keep my thoughts to the comment section.
I agree with the previous comment. Instead of making a rather goofy though I'm sure well made toy,I think they should have invested more effort into that draw bar thingy. Now that was a bit of worth while toy that I was waiting for. Does anyone know if there's an offing of an improved version of it?? The sounds aren't quite snob friendly at the present.--cheers,
Can I have a DSI Tempest drum machine as a master clock and can I hook this up to my Moog and Prophet synths and have everything be in time or is that only possible with midi? How can I use this to hook up to my analog gear?
We have taken a look at the Tempest’s webpage and they don’t specifically say they have a clock or pulse output that the Clockworks could follow although they do have a sample labeled CLICK. Possibly the CLICK sound could be used to trigger the Clockworks if it is sent to its own dedicated output. The one worry is that since the CLICK sound is audio it may not be loud enough to trigger the Clockworks. Otherwise the Clockworks should be able to provide clock pulses that the Moog and Prophet synths can follow if they have Clock inputs.
EverettDudgeon138 I don't know if you still interested in a solution for this old post but you may want to research and watch two videos here on YT : 1. Syncing MIDI clock to ,(click track) digitech jamMan Stereo (check the details in the description as he made a second projecti) 2. Usb midi clock to din syn 24 converter - sync 606 with ableton live
Yes, but remember that it's not a sequencer so it's not really comparable to the SQ1. You could use it to trigger the Pro1 and Crave sequencers, but on a Neutron, model B or K2 (none of which have sequencers) you could use it to trigger envelopes, it would just play a fixed note. That's fine if you're using them to make percussive or drone sounds though.
Allright... Don't ever dream of using it onstage : any small change an the main tempo control (the first one he demonstrated) will radically change the tempo of the whole setup. At least they should have provided a visual reference (bpm) to the main clock tempo. Nice machine for shy, solitary and somewhat high QI autistic musicians ? ;-)
EHX has some of the best Bass effects. Great company, great products, but with that said...what would a person do with this? `Is this intended to accompany the rhythm section of an electronica band?
Sigh Co. Bassist It's meant to clock things like drum machines, sequencers, modulation fx... that kind of stuff.. I could use the ehx sequencer thingy with it to cross-sync my olde analog gear with my modern DAW gear.
the most expensive way to increase the difficulty to make music (or something close to it). jenius. I miss super space drum and crash pad to the effort.
could i hook this up to tap tempo control jacks of delays/ phasers/ tremolos/ anything with a tap tempo jack? and can you mod this to have 4 expression pedals control the individual channels' proportion of the tap? cuz that would be amazing
I don't think so, that would be a nice feature. I have a moog cp-251 utility that allows that kind of adjustment and more, so works nicely with the CW.
i would at least liked to see a tempo read out LCD screen. come on guys! you make a clocking box with no tempo read out? isnt tempo the main part of a clocking device?!
Well if it's an actual recreation of the original circuit, the oscillator driving the clock is probably analogue. This has an external clock option if you want to sync it to something else generating a specific tempo. But if you're running it with this as the master then it doesn't really matter if you're at precisely 120bpm or if you're at 119.7 because everything else will be synchronised to this.
Hey this just you need to tie it all together when you use or have a mod rex modulater in other words by itself its fantastic! but when ya combine other stuff like a keyboard or an drum machine or both your starting to sound like a pro thanks again ehx for other home run with the Clocksworks tk
Damn, I thought I had already purchased everything. If the best sound to come out of this device is whats on the video then it would be worthless to me but I know it can sound much better. Very poor representation, especially coming from EHX.
AMAZING TOOL especially for modular and
analog stuff like the Volcas or Monotribes!
thanks to one of the most creative FX-companies for making such cool things!
That is great! Electro Harmonix makes such good pedals
Always diggin on what EHX is putting out...pretty great times we live in with respect to creativity toys.
Keep it up!
You need a degree from MIT to run this!!!
My favorite setup is one or two Clockworks, one or two Sequencer Drums, and a couple of CrashPads. But this rig is cool, too!
Sounds like Battles would like this.
Great! Now reissue the Super Space Drum.
I would buy about 4
They should have made it orange...
Ok, ill just see myself out.
boooo
okay it was pretty good but still
I appreciated it. Lol.
EHX makes several peatel that would work well in Eurorack for modular synths
great eyebrow movement!
0:57
Pretty neat. Needs a master on/off switch though (and maybe on/off switches for each channel).
That song at the end sounded like something straight out of adventure time.
he and other designers at ehx have cool jobs
awesome. ehx is best. endless creative analog tools.
If you've ever seen the movie, Revenge of the Nerds, this "Clockworks" device nails their sound. Lol.. It really does. JM
Excellent demo, I'm just getting started with my CW and this helps.
Rock Out With Your Clock Out..
fernando perdomo Love that phrase!
fuzz pedal Why?
Super mega ultra nerdy! Pretty cool. I would have to play with it for a while before it made sense. Thats what I like about it. I can see the usefulness of it.
Wow! Great vídeo! Thanks!
very useful if another Napoleon Dynamite movie comes out.
EHX effects rules!! love it so much! i alwayz buy boss pedal,, but this time im gonna buy 1 of EHX pedal just to add to my guitar pedal board!
This is really cool, but how many pedals and whatnot accept pulses?
Jeremy Tallacksen Anything with a tap tempo input.
We are DEVO!
A young Eugene levy?
are you Leonard Hofstadter? :D
This would have been a must buy to control say my SH-101 and other analogue gear had it had a MIDI IN port built into it so I could sync it to my D.A.W..... Maybe they'll incorporate that in the future ?
That's where the EHX sequencer comes into play.
I want that whole setup.

Sounds like Kraftwerk
Love it

EHX I think they only have MIDI in. :(

can you plug this into say a Behringer crave or neutron ,pro 1,model h or the k 2 patch bay????,like you can with the korg sq1
Yes, but remember that it's not a sequencer so it's not really comparable to the SQ1. As an Autistic Musician i agree
Jamie Dorsch Some of you guys are the best. Too bad you don't join a band ;-)
You can use it for a rave, it will be more playable than what any DJ does and no one will notice a change in the tempo
If we could only work together.
A polyphonic midi pedal for playing synhts with a regular guitar should be amazing
jose carlos garcia Fishman TriplePlay is brilliant for this
cheers '

Thank you!
can you combine the clockworks with a looper e.g. a boomerang?
the most expensive way to increase the difficulty to make music (or something close to it). jenius. I miss super space drum and crash pad to the effort.
Does sound like a 386 computer game.
WHat about pedal Loopers?Name a few if U know any would do the job
Will this run a synare, syndrum or nord drum 3p?
Can this be attached to synthesizers to change the tempo?
How do you connect to external amplifier? Im getting no sound?
it doesn't produce sound. it generates clock.
I so do not understand what this thing does... I have not DEVOlved enough...
JOHN!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
A MUST HAVE!!!
Cool.
could i hook this up to tap tempo control jacks of delays/ phasers/ tremolos/ anything with a tap tempo jack? and can you mod this to have 4 expression pedals control the individual channels' proportion of the tap? cuz that would be amazing
Kind of Brian Eno esque
Kraftverk in a Can!!!
It's brand Neu!
Can the triggers be inverted?
I don't think so, that would be a nice feature. I have a moog cp-251 utility that allows that kind of adjustment and more, so works nicely with the CW.
Would this be compatible with a Volca Drum?
Or is it only compatible with analog drum machines?
@@TCAirikka Should be compatible with anything with a sync input
Sounds like a old ATARI video game midi sound
The pedal doesn't have a sound, it's a clock divider. Also, MIDI doesn't have a sound.
midi in would have been great ...
Leonard!!!
More gear I want, but can't buy. Too poor for now, but I will have you. Oh yes, I will have you.
HOW TO CONNECT IT ???
docs.google.com/viewerng/viewer?url=www.ehx.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/clockworks-manual.pdf
Kraftwerk would be proud!
Is it sending midi clock?
+madelefant05 there is no midi jack.
Its just electrical pulses I guess. What is used as a clocking source?
Makes me think of super nintendo
Reminds NES...
zissou
i would at least liked to see a tempo read out LCD screen. come on guys! you make a clocking box with no tempo read out? isnt tempo the main part of a clocking device?!

That's really cool. However, I've been hypnotized by your eyebrow. I no longer have my own will. Must destroy humans.
I don't understand shit of what this pedal does.
It matches the tempo of any midi instruments plugged in
it doesn't have anything to do with midi. It generates synced clock signals to control other gear with clock ins
My goodness
revenge of the nerds...
clock
works

think the guitar tune is great...super whaky...only ehx...lol
Man, does this come with a slide rule and a pencil pocket protector? This dude is begging for an atomic power wedgie! :)
Damn, I thought I had already purchased everything. If the best sound to come out of this device is whats on the video then it would be worthless to me but I know it can sound much better. Very poor representation, especially coming from EHX.
Just for your info: this device doesn't produce any sound :D
Some of the worst music I've ever heard... Cool pedal though
WTF?
ARE WE NOT MEN?
Horrible
