When you go far into the forest, when your phone is silent, it does not catch the signal, and the sleeping bag on the foam replaces your favorite bed! When your dinner is boiling in a black pot on a hot fire, and all your clothes are soaked through with smoke. You forget about all your problems, they simply do not exist, there is you and the silence of the forest! The silence from which is muffling. Your senses sharpen as you hear the wind, the rustle of grass, and leaves. The creaking of the trunks. At this moment, you feel that you are alive, you are alive now, you listen to your breath, your heart, Nothing can replace these feelings. You are cleansed of all that weighed on you yesterday. Just you and nature. And you're on your own. You're alive now, and that's all that matters. For this we go to the forest. To experience it, over and over again. Those who have experienced it will understand. Those who have not experienced it, still have everything ahead of them. Thank you for giving me this feeling. Thank you for making such content that attracts people to put on a backpack and go to wander along the forest path, your work makes people really happy. 👍

I add peanut butter and honey to my porridge and fruit mix If I don't use milk. Makes it taste better and extra calories. Hope you enjoyed your trip. I watched another episode first as it popped on while I put my phone in my pocket. So I started from episode 1 now. ATB.
I remember my second trip to Scotland in 1993, went to Skye. First day walked about 23 miles, from Armadale and a big loop around the peninsula, and completely forgot to bring water! Fortunately it was september and there were buckets of brambles, and one lady in a house gave me a big glass of water at the halfway point. Great trip. Im sure you will enjoy this and future trips.

The excitement in your voice and on your face says it all :) One of my favorite things to see are mountains in the mist or clouds. You captured it beautifully.
I myself live near the Brecon Beacons Mountains in South Wales well I practically live on them and the walk you're on looks like where I live 1way or another. Awesome videos keep up the good hard work. And take a roll or half a roll of Duct tape good for repairs and 👍
Cant beat the brecon beacons the mountains are all lush and green which you dont see everywhere! I live in mountain ash now but originally from Manchester

Absolutely stunning video and hats off for having the courage to take on a hike all on your own. I can't imagine how scary that must have been on day 2 when you had to put up with storm force winds and torrential downpours. asbpresentations people do unfortunately haven’t come across a video yet on TH-cam with no thumbs down. Some very sad people out there, however Becky’s videos seem to have far less than others I watch on TH-cam.
You, no doubt will have your dreams come true. No wonder so many songs and poems have been sung and written about Scotland. A beauty of a place. Reminds me of Cape Breton, here in Nova Scotia.

Good old oatmeal! A staple of the Canadian Rockies as well; recently I mix oats, buckwheat & quinoa for extra nutrients (they all cook togeather in the same time & way) . & chaga tea 🌞. Hope you get some sun! Great adventure - very brave hiking!
Cracking wee video Becky 👌 camped all over Glencoe and surrounding areas for decades (still do when i can) suprised with the Banshee pole situation tbh as there great tents used by 1000s of hikers / wildcampers up here .

Well done! I am impressed! We used to do this in the army but used solid fuel cookers dehydrated rations and the poncho cape as a tent so know all about damp clothes and soggy feet. But it was still happy days not forgotten in magnificent country whatever the weather!

Glenn Etive is a lovely place to hike, spent so many great times in Glenn Coe.Would definitely recommend the west highland way,did it in May this year over 5 days with a Benn Nevis finish.Only problem with the highland way is that it's a little busy but still worth doing,you'll be hooked on trails after that.
I watched these the wrong way round didn't I lowly, I'm a vanlifer & can highly recommend it 👍

Becky, another possibility when you're traveling on roads or well-groomed paths may be some sort of a pull-cart that can also be used as a frame for a nighttime shelter.

WOW! You are definitely doing the right thing for yourself at this point in your life: on this adventure, you have tackled adversity with good cheer...and had the focus and energy left to record some wonderful images of nature. I agree with another commenter that Scotland, with its high winds requires something like an extreme conditions tent. On this trip, you overcame a damaged tent pole and ALSO were able to build a fire after days of wet weather.
Ahh the song "Wichita" pricked up my ears, as it is where I am from! I adore your videos and long for a day when I can pitch my tent and cook on the fire but until then I watch you
Such an inspiring series and you've really inspired me to get outdoors more. I just want to commend you on having the courage to just get out and go on an adventure alone. Travelling solo has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. You should feel so proud of yourself for doing it and creating such brilliant videos!!

Beautiful scenery. I had the Vango Nova 300 and it fell apart the first time I used it can I recommend a Snugpak Bunker 3 person tent it's a bit heavier but they are made in Yorkshire but if you want to go lite they do a hoop bivy style tent that is called the scorpion 2 they do a 3 person if you want a little extra space they are low profile and are 4 season tents I have the Bunker as it suit's my needs for my dog and I with our kit.

You'd love the Pacific Crest Trail, the best long trail in America. Interesting hike. This trail looks rough but beautiful. Very different terrain than what I know.

Great video, I was captivated from start to finish! I tried to wild camp on the summit of Meall a' Bhùiri (the one you walked up from the ski centre) in February last year but ended up losing my flysheet during a night pitch in a gale near the summit. Something I wouldn’t recommend! Probably should have camped in Glen Etive like you did! Looks like you had an awesome adventure. What you said at 37:25 - amen to that.

When you make up your porridge mix add a couple of spoonfuls of full fat milk powder, it makes the porridge taste a lot better.
Porridge is traditionally served with water and salt - its an acquired taste. Not really a speciality - but rather what people ate on the poverty line. Very popular, I hear, with Oliver Twist who called it 'gruel'. If you're having it with milk and sugar - you're essentially making 'Ready Brek', which is very posh.

Scottish weather. Suggestion for porridge just add 2 desert spoons of skimmed powder milk per half cup of rolled oats and you’ll never look back superb haha.

If you ever come to America...I will help you connect with some great country people to explore Kentucky....The “Big Southfork” in McCreary County Kentucky has plenty of camping.....this is approximately 30 mins away from my home...then “Lake Cumberland” in Burnside Kentucky is an awesome manmade lake, with camping also...and so much more....also my daughter and her husband own a mountainside property with approximately 90 acres...it has a special campground...lots of hiking if u choose...there are deer, turkeys, a few coyotes and fishing .....and last year they captured two black bear cubs playing on a game camera....and her campground has all of the necessities like electricity and water...a restroom...a large log cabin for visitors...”Special visitors only” FYI...but a shower and kitchen...just like home...but I’m sure I can make arrangements for you to visit and share your experiences from there...they may want to keep the exact location private though, as they love their privacy...I’ll share the location via email or Facebook messenger or something...but yeah...you’d love this part of the Country...I’m sure you’d get some good home cooked country food too...because that’s how we roll in tha hills! Hahahahaha...

Looks incredible. I really need to plan a long hike to do the pennine way as I've just been doing day hikes in the dales and peak District and a challenge to survive 2 weeks out in the wild is what my soul really needs now.
