you need money to fund the 401 and other projects, but gambling ads is a bit low, and perhaps even against youtube TOS if your sponsor isnt approved to appear here.
Gambling ruins lives.
I get it. However, I pay for premium in order to avoid garbage advertisers. The least you could do is not shit all over us paying members by forcing us to watch a sponsor segment in the beginning or middle of a video. Granted "forced" is only when a person can't or isn't able to skip it in that moment. Otherwise, I'd just skip it without complaining. It'd be nice to see sponsor scams moved to the end of the video.
draft kings is gambling - that is, a business that is predicated on taking money away from people who are bad at math. Some of those people will get addicted and will end up penniless or with their life ruined. It's got to be just about the most reprehensible advertiser you could possibly get, just after cigarette manufacturers and Perdue Pharma. Really disappointed - and disgusted.
Pay him just pay him to mow your grass at your house.
Just sign the plane over to him then He's just working on his own plane as much as he wants 😁
As Greg’s wife-I can tell you a little more-and I’m mad as hell-so I will……..I’ve heard that a member of the Airport Authority has a failing aviation maintenance business on the same airport (can anyone say conflict of interest/monopoly????)…….he views Greg as a threat (although Greg hasn’t even gone after his customers, Greg is just happy to keep the customers he and his Dad had for 30 years/just enough to help our family to keep food on the table/bills paid/provide for our child). So Greg has been targeted and pushed out of an airport he loved and has worked at since he was 16…….because this airport authority member has power and the whole are wielding it unfairly. Greg is a third generation aviation mechanic-respected by his customers and the aviation community. In my opinion, it’s a case of inequity, backroom/closed door and unfair small airport politics. He loves the Rebuild Rescue team and fans. Sorry-had to be said-my family has been attacked and I am speaking out. People who have power and use it unjustly or to profit themselves are vile.
Thanks Jackie - Just went through something similar myself, with 8 years on-site the company was bought by private equity and I was told I can't work there anymore. Of course a week later there's someone there working cheaper and probably worse. Nothing ethical about it, but it would cost me years and big money to pursue in the legal system. This kind of crap goes on in every industry, and they wonder why loyalty is dead.
You can only hope that “what goes around comes around, “, and that those shafting Greg get some of their own medicine. Of course there is no guarantee that will happen but you can surely hope it does.
As someone said, hire him for something else and have him volunteer in the RR hanger?
Ahhh!! That brings some clarity to the situation. I would be looking into the possibility of an injunction.
In Australia that would never be tolerated, strait to the ACCC, serious fines for the perpetrator when investigated.
i was a tenant at a public owned regional airport for 20 plus years. We were told at one point that no mobile mechanics could come to the airport to do work and all work had to be done at the resident FBO. Problem was the FBO refused to work on anything over 20 years old (most of the aircraft based on the field). In the end there was a determination that, because the County that owns the airport took FAA airport improvement funds they could not restrict tenants from hiring other certified mechanics or having them do work in their hangars. I would contact AOPA legal services.
@@rickstuart4851 that sounds like great advice and I hope it works!
This is correct. Airport Sponsors or Authority cannot grant exclusive rights or privileges to one party and not another. The FAA policy can be found in AC 150/5190-6. The Sponsor can lose Federal Funding if found to be in violation of these rules. That being said, they may be hard pressed to get FAA to act on these violations.
Easy fix. Whatever you were paying him before, just pay him that amount to mow your lawn at home once a month. He can volunteer on the 401 afterwards. The country’s most expensive landscaper.
Might have worked without this video.
@@kstricl Still would work.
@@OOpSjm This video would be evidence if the airport authority took umbrage with Greg showing up at the hangar more than just a few hours a week. Which, sounds like they would.
Also called "under the table" payments
What's the path forward? Sounds like it's only a matter of time before you get tossed
I'm a retired attorney from another state. I can not give you or Greg any legal advice. However, if the airport is a city-owned facility, you should definitely consult an attorney in your jurisdiction.
You can't give up on the 401 so easily. So much has been invested already and to give up now would be a stain on Sam's memory. Worst case, I would move my whole operation off the airport to another facility. It just seems like an abuse of power by the airport authority or airport manager. FIGHT IT!!!
After seeing the statement from Greg's wife (comment above this) I would say move airports...
Jason, if Gregg was kicked off the airport due to him being a mobile A&P, there was a case in Sacramento Ca addressing the same subject. I believe the case was Angel Felix vs Sacramento County. The case involved Felix doing A&P work at Sacramento County Airport. The airport manager kicked him off as he wasn’t paying to be an on airport FBO. Bottom line is He won and Sac exec had to allow him access. Since some of the points involved Federal requirements you may find they apply to Greggs case.

i sure there is simpler way, lawyers fees would rather put into the plane ,good spotting though
@@robertlewis3712 I tried looking up that case. Do you happen to have the case number ?

For all of us saying that wasnt much of an explanation, keep in mind, this is still a fluid situation. They did say that they were waiting on some things on how or if they can proceed. Theres probably more to this situation then we know, and making it public to us, may complicate things, if a well meaning supporter gets involved in the wrong way. They were probably walking a very fine line between giving us an explanation, and not making the situation worse then it already is. So before we get our pitchforks, and demonize a partiy or parties, lets see how things play out, and what happens.
I DEMAND that you respect my right to have, and use, my pitchfork. I luvs my pitchfork. And demon parties are just the ducks nuts.
@Agnemons lol. When the time comes, you may lead the charge.
I appreciate the update on the 401 and the issues surrounding Greg and the airport, the love your subscribers has for the 401 is amazing and I’m pleased you and the rest of the rebuild rescue team realise the interest we all have for the 401 and to see it rescued and flying will be great. Good luck Greg with everything 😊
There is more going on here than is being told. The simple solution is for Jason to hire Greg as an employee with a set work schedule. For the Chester County Airport Authority witch is a state and federally regulated agency to say a person cannot work on their property for profit means they have contracted with another company to provide A and P services to the airport orthere is some sort legal action pending that involves both Greg and the Airport
Well said 👏
Indeed, this comment should be pinned.
Even if they have contracted with another A&P doesn't mean that everyone utilizing that airport should be forced into monopolize choice in an A&P
Who knows what to believe. We’ve been told the 401 hold up has been parts and inspection.
I'm sure there is some truth to that too. However, something is definitely up. Did he piss off the wrong person? @@BwInNewJersey
Jason, I'd get the heck outta Chester County. So many of us have to take our planes to other airports for maintenance or annuals etc because our home fields don't have A/P on site. The fact that Chester is doing this to Greg, especially with the history, is crap. Find another field that will truely support you and your mission (and bring Greg along).
@Utah2ofemit's not communism, stop tossing words around that you clearly don't know or understand
That's probably what theyre doing and don't want to tip off Chester
@Utah2ofem wut?
@bradmagnuson6963 While it isn't Communism, it is corruption, and that also starts with "c".
@Utah2ofem It's not communism it is capitalism. Conveniently that also starts with a C.
Love Greg and all his sarcastic dead pan humor. Hoping you all figure it out and we get to see more 401 and Greg’s knowledge at work!
If the airport is public, the management is subject to FOIA. File a few requests, perhaps with the help of your attorney, and find out exactly what the management has been doing.
Just keep chugging along and do what you’re doing. I love watching all the different planes and vehicles you are rescuing. And when you get back to the 401, I’ll be here enjoying that too.
That means a lot Bill, amazing supporters like you are what keep us motivated. Thank you
Thanks Jason and Greg, I truly hope you are able to eventually overcome the situation and continue with all you current and future projects. I like others love seeing the progress on the 401 but also enjoy watching other episodes of rescues coming back to life. cheers
Hey Tim, your support means the world to us. Thank you for being apart of our family and going on all these adventures with us
Greg and Joe are the type of A&Ps I loved working with and for. The reason I loved being an A&P myself and have thought about going back to wrenching on planes more than once (currently work as a manager for the worlds largest civilian and military simulator company). Good luck with the 401….been following since day 1. Love Joe and Greg! Good luck Greg…you are a FINE example of an aviation technician!
Is Joe an A&P though?
I can appreciate all the time and effort required on these projects, as my son trained as an AME up here in Canada. Everything has to be done by the book, this is not the same as wrenching on an old Camaro or pickup truck. I appreciate the explanation about Greg's situation and how it needs to be discussed carefully and diplomatically, as he has a lot at stake. We have faith that the 401 will get done, and the other projects are just as interesting. You guys keep working and we will keep watching, we wish you all the best.
Thanks for providing an update on the 401 and whats happening to Greg. It sucks when bad things happen to good people.
Glad to see the update on the 401. It's a shame what happened to Greg, hopefully he's found a way to reassemble his business and life. Unfortunately, projects, of all kinds, get derailed by tings in and out of your control. What matters is your recovery- - - and it sounds like you have one that just needs a couple things to fall into place. Good luck! Very happy to see you've kept the channel going and keep bringing the videos of the other projects.
Thanks for the update! I know I say it every time, 5 years ago, I had a stroke.( lived.) I live for TH-cam. With a brain injury, I have to rebuild everything. I don’t know how I found your channel, ( might have been bikes& beards?) I draw strength from Rebuild Rescue. I have a T- shirt, I will keep watching!
That means more than you know Brother. Thank you for being here with us as we support each other. The Rescue Family wouldn't be the same without you 👍🏻❤️
Jason, i have follow you since day one, you had it tough since childhood but you have showed us all the amazing drive you have, there has been a lot fail points, the Sam's tragic accident, now this but you keep going with a smiling strong heart. I am sure 401 will fly many rescue missions. Hang on there bro, you are on a great mission.
Thank you for the update. I was one of those that wondered about the 401. Aircraft maintenance is never simple or easy, the one guarantee is that it will take longer than anticipated and be expensive. There is probably more to the story concerning Greg, but I also have a suspicion lawyers are involved and all the details can't be spoken about right now. I just want to wish all of you good luck and keep up wit what you are doing..
Please keep the project going guys, whatever time it takes. Greg has my total admiration, wishing him particularly the very best at this juncture.

You're really inspiring keeping it up in spite of all the problems and the time it takes. I've been watching the 401 rebuild since trying to get it started and the birds taking it over with one of the windows open. Birds nests in the engines and all that jazz. I've many hours invested in this that I'd really like you to finish it. I'll keep watching for sure
Hopefully you guys are in a position to give more information in the near future. Knowing the 401 project is close to the hearts of so many, personally involved and followers, especially honouring Sam; i would have to urge followers to not give up or lose patience. Rather than expressing disappointment to you and your crew Jason, you deserve gratitude. With each challenge that has presented, you have pushed through ticking every box no cut corners. Many give up when faced with challenges. There is a lot people could learn and apply in their own lives about overcoming difficulties, slowing down when need be, and doing things right. This is how you succeed and find fulfillment in your efforts. To the frustrated followers; take a breath, and go easy on Jason and the boys. They want nothing more than to have the 401 flying again bringing us along throughout the journey. They're aware of all those who have donated and have supported their channel, emotionally invested in the build and are grateful beyond measure. A little patience and hey a "thank you" would go a long way for the amazing content. So Rebuild Rescue Team THANK YOU for sharing your content.
Thanks for the 401 update. Sad to hear the project is on hold for the time being. Here’s to hoping it gets back on track in the near future. Keep up the good work, Jason!
Thanking us for dealing with the adds, that support the 401 project. The same 401 project, that we actually aren’t seeing on the channel.
Wow I hope you guys find a solution with Greg, the 401 was the main reason I started watching your channel….good luck my friend….
Keep plugging away guys, never lost the faith. Hope things get sorted for Greg. Watching from Hong Kong.

Ill be fine ill always have a backup plan. And we are working on a way for me to continue to help out jason
@@Sandaircraft1 that’s really good to hear. In that case give Joe a hug from me!!
I for one ,really appreciate the update. Sorry to hear ,Greg ,is copping so much grief.
Any project team must know when to ask for help and know what help is required. You have an entire support community that is willing to help, just ask!
Now Jason needs not only an experienced licensed A&P full time but also an AI he can afford. He has lots of work. I think Greg got himself stuck between a rock and a hard place. His full-time contractual job is/was worth more than Jason’s job and was caught doing both ?? I hope he gets his steady paying job back with the airport. It doesn’t look like there are a lot of A&P mechanics floating around, looking for any kind of work. There’s got to be tough love in this industry. An A&P with an AI signing off on an annual done by unlicensed mechanics doing the work and the paperwork is a complete no no. - in my opinion; your mileage may vary.
Before anyone jumps on me, I am in no way suggesting any impropriety here. Jason, many times has emphasize only safety and I really believe he knows what he is up against his situation with all these aircraft he is rebuilding/repairing. I find it exciting to watch and see his success.
I am retired now, but still hold my own A&P and for a while an AI and loved troubleshooting and inspections and paperwork with a great relationship with the FAA.
The project will be completed by Oshkosh 2022!! Love the details you have made instead of rushing it. All the support for Greg! Love following the progress! All ways working. We are patient
I would be moving airports to keep that man on the team, he has been a huge asset
Sounds lile a easy solution to me. What other options are there, just let the plane sit there?
Glad to hear that you still keep your chin up and keen on moving forward with the 401 project. God speed from, Denmark 🇩🇰❤️
Not to be disrespectful but I subscribed to this channel because of the 401 .. I absolutely love watching projects from beginning to end ... and you guys have came so far the 401 is amazing I really hope you guys can get things fixed for Greg... PLEASE keep moving forward on this project I've personally missed seeing videos on the 401 lately thank you for explaining the problems , it's better to tell people rather then tring to keep things a secret ... good luck guys lol bring the thunder and get the the 401 done ... love the channel
Can't be over! It's only been 30 years since the rebuild began..
Good job guys. I know it’s hard but I appreciate what you’re doing.
I have been watching this channel and got to learn so much about aviation from you guys. Generally, I would recommend to keep your focus as a channel on educating your viewers on aviation maintenance and technology. It is exciting and we get to see a part that not many are allowed to see without a license. Keeping your entire channel hooked onto one project is not healthy for your channel because once the project is complete you are complete as well. Also, keeping your project suspended will bore your viewers. So, put an end to the project and focus more on the technical content that everyone here is actually coming for. Well appreciated from a mechatronics engineer who's life long dream was to become an aviation engineer but never got the opportunity for it.
Airports are the worst example of the "good ole' boy" system. I've been through almost exactly the same thing. They put horrifically anti-competition rules into place to protect their friends, and then wonder why the airport is dying.
Hate to say it, but I'm glad I'm a *former* A&P/IA, for pretty much all of the reasons expressed in the video.
From what I gather many airports become controlled by people who do not want them to be alive.
A lot of places are this stupid now, it seems they like owning all of an empty shell, rather than enjoying part of a thriving community. Sort of a global thing.
What you have achieved so far is amazing. I have followed this journey from the beginning and it has been so enjoyable sharing this with you. It will be finished one day and if it takes longer then so be it as it will be so worth it in the end. Good luck and i so look forward to the next video. Take Care. Cheers
I dont have to know everything because it's basically none of my business, but this video raises more question then are answered.
My thoughts exactly. What I don't buy is Jason and Greg not knowing the full story. The airport authority is a public entity and: 1) has to divulge any agreements they have; and 2) would have no reason to hide what is going on, even if it is somewhat sleazy.
@@catnvol You might not buy it, but it happens all the time. I can't tell you how many times I've seen city or county governments making decisions and not saying why. But yeah, I'm sure there are things that Jason and Greg didn't say, and for good reason. They wouldn't be doing themselves any favors if they mouthed off too much on TH-cam and had random people trying to intervene.
@@hansb57 It was hard to make a video about what’s been going on with Greg without saying something that could cause us more issues at the airport. At some point we may be able to but for now we’re all walking on egg shells.
There is a time to be open, and a time to be less open. We now know one of the factors slowing the project. I can see Greg not wanting to inflame the situation, he would most likely not be helped by a mob of us marching on the county with pitchforks and torches. So let's see what happens in the future.
@@richgross144 They may not say why willingly but if prodded they must. As for Jason, I enjoy most of his posts but he also comes across as a bit of a snake oil salesman to me. I have no desire to go into details but be careful how blindly you follow what he says.
This is probably the most ambitious project I’ve ever seen on TH-cam, and I absolutely love it. I knew restoring an aircraft was a huge task, but I never imagined it would get to this point. Massive respect to all your team for the amazing work they’ve done so far. I really hope I get to see the day when that beauty takes off to the skies again.
Hey Brother. Thank you for being apart of the channel and supporting, it means a lot👍🏻
I managed an airport and had this issue surface. I found that it was being pushed by an fbo on the field. He didn't want mobile mechanics on the airport doing annuals and repairs in private hangars. So he managed to get this approved. He certainly didn't like it when I confronted him about servicing aircraft in hangars and made him stop. It was quite a situation.
Do you know what can be done about this?
Sorry for whats happening fellas ive love this channel and will always watch no matter what content is posted there is no need in hounding yall on when the 401 will be done simply said it will be done when its done
Thank you for all your support Brother, we wouldn't be able to do what we love without people like you
It's always something with this channel. Smells funny
still fishy about Sams crash
I've had an occasionall whiff of crappie since this show started. I never understood why the owner said he would give give him the plane if he could get it to run. A salvage company would give $10,000. There's that smell again.
I know there is a lot of goodwill and sharp minds in the aircraft community to help with the current situation. Although this was an update on th 401, it was clearly a call for help to help find a solution. I've watched from the very start of this project and have faith that this issue will be resolved in some way, shape, or form. 401 forever!
We just want everything to be fair and for folks who live this project to understand that we’re trying our hardest. We’re almost there !
Sorry to hear that and hope things can get worked out. Good Luck
Thank you 👍🏻
Glad to see you are still on it I know the deal I just installed the last piece of trim on a project that I started 3 years ago ( 62 chevy wagon) Don't give up
So, listening to what Greg said and how it was put forward by Jason, it sounds like the Airport has signed a new Shop to the airport and is enforcing that any maintenance for hire being done to have a dedicated hangar/shop space on the property. If Greg doesn't have a hangar on the airport anymore, then he can't legally perform maintenance for hire on the property. That's a fairly common thing at airports.
The fix is for him to lease a hangar on the airport, but that assumes there's a hangar available. He can't just sign as a co-lessee on the space that Rebuild Rescue has because that would run afoul of the 501c3 non-profit organization. He has to be able to be in a position that he's registered as a "for profit" company to be in compliance. Hopefully they're able to work out something with either the Airport Authority or with the team to get him a space to make it all "legit" and not get in trouble.
I could be wrong, but didnt Greg say he or his dad built a hangar there?
@rcl3514 he did, but it wasn't clear if it is still owned by them. If it was the shop location and they closed/sold the shop to another company, then it explains him being "in violation" of the rules.
This is the impression I got.
@@CAPFlyer This is true. Its also one of the reasons I think there is more going on behind the scenes, more to the story and they were walking a fine line between informing us, and not making things worse.
You guys are figuring it out. We did have a hanger built, the owner sold it and we were talked into becoming the MRO. That brought on all the political b.s. associated with that.
The airport authority lawer forced signature to not renew my lease.
Jason,I've faith in you and all of your crew.you will finish the 401.all of you are amazing.i wish I was there,I would push a broom or anything just to help.keep the faith. Thank you for all your trouble just to keep up up to date.
I worked in aviation 30 odd years. Its job for the devoted and in reality not a really great industry. But for the guys like Greg with his knowledge, sense of humor and willingness to share his knowledge, it would be as enjoyable as burger flipping as a full time career. Thankfully there are a lot of Greg's in the industry which make and made it for me worth getting up in the morning and going to work.

This video raises more questions than answers
It is a very ambitious project. It has came so far would hate to see it go unfinished.
As a concerned patron for this project maybe it's time to relocate the 401 projects to a place that would be more forthcoming and open and honest and willing to help this project if the current airport that you're at right now does not support this then that is a shame and that is terrible. We the people need to spread the word about this. share this on other platforms please so we can find a resolution to this problem. we need to help Greg out that is the first task at hand and then get the progress on the 402 back on track Sorry for ranting but this actually kind of hurts me in the heart and to be honest it Piss es me off a little bit
Moving an airplane in the 401 current condition is no easy task and will take several thousand $$ on top of the money he is burning through as it is.
yep ... the best solution ... find PRIVATE airport to get Greg setup at and move everything there ... and bring all of Greg's clientele thee for work as well ... then the public airport will not get the revenue from Greg's work or yours and you can get cracking .. again ...
sure it wont be cheap but I am sure you know a truck driver or two who can flat bed the401 and others to the new place ... for as cheap as possible ...
the only way to fight greed is to take your money elsewhere and carry on ...
@@Ellis157 It's a public airport. It's all about money 💰💰. I'm not sure if it's already done. But maybe set up a. Give Send Go account..
Batavia NY has a airport that may be worth checking out...✌️
Here's the real question... What did he do to get thrown out?
I'll be praying for the best to happen for all concerned, whatever is going on now. Good to hear about the 401 again. Gonna be amazing! 🙏✝
@@WunderOps Thank you !
I just needed to hear that you're not giving up on the 401. I really don't care how long it takes.
Never giving up!
I've been wondiering what's going on, thanks for the update
Having about 1,100hrs in a CE421B and as a MEI flying 310’s, I would have said don’t walk away from the 401, but RUN!
Parts availability, AD’s, complexity of the systems and parts costs are what lead to the 401 being abandoned in the first place. The 421 I flew/managed averaged $20,000 for an annual inspection, then the cost of supplies, and materials, additional labor on items found deficient ran that up to $35,000 to $50,000! And that was on a well maintained aircraft. Add in mandated annual training on my part, and fixed costs for hangar, fuel, and taxes, the owner first had a falling out with me causing me to resign (great relief too!) and he was unable to find any one else to fly it for him. He abandoned it at Gulf Shores, Al. A hurricane destroyed it. It sold for $35,000 scrap/salvage value… it was the definition of a money pit! I hope you get some salvage value for yous…
They are seriously expensive old birds. Wish the 401 would have been a 421…. But glad we haven’t had to deal with the pressurization systems.
Thanks for the update, sending positive vibes so that this can be resolved by all concerned
The special point of praising Signature, the monopolistic “Ticket Master” of FBOs is a pretty big clue to what’s really happening.
Yup!!!
Keep up the awesome rebuild guys. You've come so far.
I’ve worked at airports on the line for almost 20 years. The reason is one of three things. 1. The airport manager doesn’t like you. 2. The airport manager doesn’t like your customer. 3. They changed airport rules to accommodate new insurance requirements.
Most likely 1 or 2.
@@timc9893 Or with as picky and idiotic as Insurance companies are getting Id vote for 3
@@timc98933 makes the most sense.
Most probably Greg is being targeted as the A&P that enables RR to do what they do by overseeing it on his mechanics license. Keep in mind that RR has been under scrutiny since their fatal crash earlier this year.
Or a board member has a mechanics shop on premise and doesn’t want the competition 🧐
Having people with real work experience around is extremely invaluable. Not only do they just *know* things, but they can teach so much if one is willing to listen.
I did my job training working on the BAE Systems Hawk, Mk 51 and Mk 66......and despite it being a relatively simple plane for a military jet trainer, I absolutely need those 20 or so books of maintenance manuals to do anything on it. But our trainer had worked that same job since the 80s and he could just look at a part and go "5mm socket" instantly. Also those old timers all had weird self-made tools and they were incredibly useful for one specific task that would have been a nightmare with standard tools (many of them had to do with lockwiring, as everyone who has worked on a plane might have guessed).
Nothing replaces good old hard earned experience. Those lessons from others are priceless.
I knew Greg was an A&P IA and helps you now and then. But I didn't know that he was the one who oversaw the whole project and signed everything. I have the utmost respect for that. I wouldn't want to be responsible for the restoration of a completely neglected, decades-old, twin-engine plane, almost dismantled down to the last screw and then slowly put back together. I've been following the project since the beginning and have always been a bit of a skeptic. But I also think that you are trying your hardest to make everything as safe as possible and as high quality as possible. Still, I wouldn't want to put my neck on the line for this bird. All the best to Greg. I love his humor.
I've been watching this project too as a skeptic and observing the spectacle of a really bad idea for a project being carried out by a guy who seems to be in it just for the attention. Having money can get him over hurdles but is this really a good thing for anyone involved in this project? If I was asked to contribute or participate, I would decline and maybe even start running away on foot. I get it that people are emotionally invested in this project but the reality is that there are lots of trashy airplanes around that deserve nothing but being recycled and this 401 should have been one of them.
@@mikeh2520Yeh be nice to see if it can be done though.
Keep up your spirits. I'm sure you'll overcome these challenges 🙌
Did anyone hear them mention a reason for Greg getting kicked out? I feel like there wasn't much of an explanation as to how this situation came to be. I'm particularly curious how a public airfield can "kick out" an AMP.
Greg told ya what he's going to tell ya.rest is anyone's business.
usually it's because another A&P or A&I complained
@@daveblankenbaker5882 so another company is trying to force some monopoly on repair work. That doesn't sound legal.
@@Hoggdoc1946 happens all the time, FBO has contract with Airport Authority and wants all the work on the airport in return.
i've got to be honest the reason can't be good. otherwise you'd know.
I wondered where this project was at recently - totally understand the current predicament. Good luck to you all - you can do it!
Jason, You have put your heart and soul into this project to help those in need of rescue missions. It's not fake what you are wanting to do. Its a dream that you will complete. This is just another trial you and are going through. Keep up your faith! Sam believed in you, that's good enough for me.
That sucks. Thank you for posting. Please keep on truck'n when you can. Love the 401.
Jason I know what it takes, while I have never worked on an air craft I still understand how much work goes into getting a plane back up into the air. A lot of that comes from the fact that I live a mile off the runway of a regional air port that use to be a military air field, where we have people that restore planes that go as far back as the 1940's and know some of those people. The rest comes from the fact that I have restored a few automobiles, and know that it can take a minimum of a year to get one fully restore without it being a rolling restoration like what I work on. And I have a rolling restoration that I am 3 years into, and still have not gotten to the paint stage. And I wanna say that a guy local to me got a Howard DGA-15 back in the air last year, but I maybe wrong on it being that particular aircraft.
It’s a heck of a lot of work…. Especially when trying to film it all. But it’ll be worth it in the end. Good luck with your restoration Brother !
Greg seems like such an awesome guy. I am always on the lookout for 401 videos, but I know that these other projects come up to fund the 401. I love all of your videos!!! Thx
@mcdadaddy
Thanks i am awesome!! 😂😂
See jason i told you
Nope nope not gonna work Greg
🤣😂🤪
Sounds like restoring this 401 is more costly than buying a decent 401 that is already airworthy
I've been your subscriber since the first episode of your 401 project and i always watched the 401 progresskeep it up. watching from Philippines
There's something I want to say, a message for you guys. My passions in life are cars and airplanes. I have been a TV commentator about F1 for 15 years, and if F1 taught me something all these years, is that if it's not done RIGHT, don't do it. Ever. So, take your time, do it RIGHT, so people will enjoy it many years after you're done with it. And there's something else I wanted to say too. It's not just about the work going into planes, bikes, boats etc. I will never forget Sam - what a ray of sunshine that man was - am not forgetting Joe and his new smile... these people strived and still strive to do it RIGHT. So, hey, personally, am all for it taking more time. God bless you all
Amen to that my friend!!
Greg thanks for all your hard work and dedication to the team! Couldn’t do it without you!!
Jason and Greg, I've been watching the 401 since day one. That's how I happened upon this channel. I support you both (and Joe, and the rest of the team) 100%! Nothing is insurmountable, but it can be very frustrating and seem like an impossible mountain to climb, but I have complete faith in you and your ability to overcome this setback. When we lost Sam early this year, that seemed like a situation and loss that would not be able to be overcome. With the families blessing and all your strength and willpower you guys got past it. Sam is smiling down on this whole project, so I know it will get done, however long it takes. To do it right and safe takes years on a project like this, not months. We're in it for the long haul!
It’s a very sad situation I had followed your rebuild virtually from when you were trying to get the engines started , i not keen on flying but did enjoy the restoration process with you all , issues challenges you faced , very tedious indeed the time the love hard work professionalism wow guys well done look forward to its continuation
question is why did Greg get kicked out? there's always a reason, that would help to know so we can get him reinstated.
We will never know I'm afraid
Rebuild Rescue crack me up, they make so much public but when it comes down to something that matters to the channel and the 401 they go tight lipped.
If he wanted you to know, he would have said.he didn't, so it's no one's business.
@gdwnet it's none of your business.
@@jerrywilcox9890 _it's none of your business._
Except that it's Greg that just went public and it's RR that took peoples money for a project they can't complete.
Keep going guys, all of us that are passionate about these things believe in you. All of us who work in aerospace know how long these things take to do properly. It'll take time but you get there & boy is that day those wheels leave the tarmac going to be sweet 🙂
Man I hope work on the 401 continues, it's what drew me to this channel :/
We won’t give up!
@@rebuildrescue Yay!!!!
I Like Rebuild Rescue I've watched all the video's since he started with the 401 so a lot of time watching, sharing the joy's and accomplishments. So sad to experience the loss of Sam that donated the 401. Keep up all the good work and feelings that come with this channel.🥰😃
Thank you for your support
Now looking back at all the videos with Greg involved it makes sense, some of the looks like damn these guys are nuts, or they have no clue what it's gonna take. Greg is like that big brother with a voice of reason. Just sucks that some entity can just say you can't work here no more. I really hope that there is a lawyer out there can help in some way. I enjoy seeing Gregs dry humor, Hope it all works out in the end. Hell I wish I could just drop everything and go out and help get the 401 in the air. Good Luck and look forward to seeing the positive outcome of all the builds!!!
@@scottwatson5767 Theres a ton things we do to make this rescue and others a reality behind the scenes. Each video takes so many hours from multiple people.
We have a fix to move forward at this point. Just hoping trying to help Greg doesn’t put a bullseye on me and the team as well.
Hey Jason I know these things take time, lots if time and I'm not going anywhere as I've been with you and your excellent crew mates and friends since day one.
Always onward and forward!
We appreciate that Jim. Thank you for being a day one with us
WOW That is Really Messed up because I even bought a T-shirt to save the 401 and Really wanted to see it become a new airplane again !!! Why did Greg get kicked out ???
It will all be worth it in the end, no matter what happens and what mountain we have to hike over. I wish the best of luck for Greg.
Government owned property is very strange. I know someone personally that worked in the movie industry and worked in a huge workshop that houses businesses in the movie industry and one day after being there for 25 years he got asked to leave and to never returned for no reason at all. A new manager came into to run the work shop and all the old school guys that worked there for longer than the new manager has been alive all got kicked out for no real reason. Similar might have happened, someone that knows the managers of the air strip may if needed his work shop space so they booted him out in favour of someone else or some other wierd internal politics probably caused it
Greg, thank you so much for all you have done on the 401. It's better known as the REBUILT RESCUE!
Maybe I missed it, Why was Greg told he can't do contract work at the airport? The why is a very important missing piece of the story.
Sounds like the simplest explanation is that he has a contract with the FBO/Airport to provide all maintenance services through his company & its agreement with the airport.
I could be totally wrong though.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I don't think there was much an actual explanation...
@@sebastianbenner977 The other thing is, that they may be trying not to rock the boat for lack of a better term. At least publicly. Behind the scenes they may be doing things, that they dont want supporters accidentally hindering even though they may be trying to help.
101%
@gano7297 Yeah, but if that contract is terminated, then, why can't he work on the 401? Unless they have made a clause which prevents that, it's just wrong.
Thank you
Yeah one more thing one of the main problems to me right now is how is Greg going To support his family I'm sure he might have other avenues of employment somewhere but this is a massive hit and we all need to help there's got to be a way and I know Greg is too modest to try to take any help or anything free from people but Greg's cooler and a fan and the fact that he is willing to help and do this stuff he's diamonds in my opinion In other words priceless
@ellis157
Thanks i appreciate that. Rest assured ill be ok, always have a plan b. We will find a way for me to continue to help jason
Thanks for the update. All the best to Greg!
