I bought a nikon d50 back in highschool an now knowing the knowledge an ways of the cameras after taking college photojournalism Im looking to sell the body an upgrade it to something better. Looking for fast shutter, wider iso range, time lapse capability and last but not least very fast continuous shutter to capture every moment in the tricks or whatever else Im shooting. Any suggestions on the camera to do so? I've got some in mind but always like to hear others thoughts.
@mastercool59 i think fs overcrooked doesn't exist, it was just introduced by the tony hawk's pro skater games. bs overcrooked and bs nosegrind are two different tricks i think... it doesn't really make sense to me either
@mastercool59 because nobody does straight on front nosegrinds on handrails, almost everytime someone does a nosegrind down a handrail it's slightly tweaked like an overcrook, so it would be almost impossible to differentiate between the two. (only applies to frontside)
which fisheye lens are you using? I have a sigma 10-20 and the far edges of the lens gets all distorted when I'm too close. Yours look perfect. I am shooting Nikon as well - is it the Nikon 10mm fisheye u use?
Get the Sony a65 you can pick up the body used for about 500-600 and it does 10 FPS or the sony a77 700-850 used and it does 12FPS , that's about the cheapest they get for that kind of performance if you want anything close to that or a little better you will be spending at least a couple grand.
does this work for DSLR FILMING as well? i know the lower the shutter the more exposure when in flim mode, so if i make the shutter speed higher and make the ISO higher would that create a sharper image? i've heard that the higher the ISO the grainier the clips will be, but it's night time and i gotta work all day tomorrow so i cant try it out. if anyone knows lemme know please and thank you :D i appreciate it
This might sound weird, but it looks like he's using both (even though he probably isn't.) When he is sitting getting interviewed, and pretty much the entire rest of the video, it looks like he has the 16mm on, but when he's showing Boo the shots at 2:22 the gold ring and gold badge on the lens looks like the 10.5mm. Using the 10.5mm wouldn't make sense though considering it doesn't cover all of a full frame camera's sensor, and he shoots a D3, which is full frame.
Sam Merkel yeah i figured it was both, i have a D3 and it is capable of shooting in DX and FX mode, you just have to rummage through the settings to find it.
CAMERAS DON'T MATTER FOR SHOOTING SKATEBOARDING IN 2017. to be a PRO skateboard photoposer these days, they just buy the most expensive equipment possible, mainly use a fish, and suck as much as possible into the image, including that vidcammers lense-intrusion, and FIX your images in POST PRODUCTION. Is there an episode in this series that teaches HOW TO KNOW THEIR SHIT WELL ENOUGH THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO CHEAT WITH AN EYE-LOUP, OR ENLARGING ON THE PREVIEW SCREEN? To actually KNOW how to perform photography well enough that they can use FILM with confidence? All of this is a lot of words that don't say hardly shit about photography and skateboarding. Basically, it's how to make a fancy SLR digi video camera make good stills. yawn.
This should be called "how to freeze motion". It has nothing to do with sharpness as a concept. Just how to avoid motion blur. Big disappointment and thumbs down from me.
its dope when people share knowledge. keep skateboarding alive.
The best series on ride
love the foto tips video best idea ever !do more!!!! ...hey any tip for someone with no wide lengs? shooting angles ?
MORE OLIVER!!!!
@MrWorland
Wig Worland? Loved your stuff since I started skating and reading Sidewalk Mag!
@PAskater96 i'm assuming you're talking about the filmer. in that case, it's probably a hvx200a and xtreme fisheye

You have to zoom in and crop the blurred edge

yo sinner, bless it
I'm watching these to film skating, scooters, AND bmx, so it don't matter dude haha
get a d300s or a d7000 reasonable price the d300 is 7 fps and the 7000 is 6fps
The difference between skaters explaining tricks n photogs explaining their tips lol
Miss you British Bulldog! And like hurry up the pizza is gettin' cold here...
they called the trick a nose grind but it was actually an overcrook
looks pretty kosher?
That camera though
Oh look. my high school. lol
I already know quite a little about photography but i'm here , cus i wanna know more . turns out i already know all this -_-
he says: "one of these loupes"
He's using a Nikon D3
I do believe that was an overcrook?
tell us more, we allredy know that...
lets see how much hate i get lol. im watching these how to film videos so i can film scooters
what? I'm saying they consider overcrooks nose grinds, they don't call them overcrooks
funny how he only talked about shutter speed. lol.
he is changing his shutterpeed, which means he is not using auto
overcrooks = nosegrinds.... but im a Californian 0_o
AWKWARD ! @ 2:27 ! Always happens to me ! White people = hand shakes and high 5's VS Black people = fist bumps !
