    AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage - only slightly more violent. It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on TH-cam are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). Again, it doesn't cost you anything to click these links, and it's a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!

    We stay at fort wilderness and we stay a month over Christmas and my kids fly in and stay with us, Disney picks them up and brings them to us at our spot (best deal is 10 people on a spot). When they left my brother flew in same thing. also if you buy $50.00 or more of food Walmart will deliver to your spot. I love the fact we all come and go as we want and don't have to deal with everyone getting ready to go in the car and returning at the same time . We all meet back at the camp for dinner and the go back in later unless we are at the Animal Kingdom it's just to far. but I agree it is pricey but with a larger group it is so worth it. Love your show really glad to see you back on the road again. Be Blessed!

    We just left there this morning. One 'free' thing you can do on a non park day is park at Disney springs (free), take the (free) boat to port Orleans, then the bus to Magic kingdom and ride the boats and monorail around to the resorts. Really just eating lunch (and dole whip, of course!) at the Polynesian was the only money spent. Except for the pool areas, you can access the resorts without staying there.
    And yes, Walmart for souvenirs! That's true in Hawaii also.

      I know that people might skip over your comment but you are absolutely right! We do that every time we visit the parks and for us it is the best free day.

      Spud Bono - When visiting Maui, our 2nd stop on arrival to Maui is Walmart (Costco is 1st) and our last stop before going home is Walmart. A child's bathing suit & swim shirt are probably needed anyway (they grow like weeds) so they feel like they've gotten a present that is cheap to boot.

    Looks like you guys were driving down the 192! We’re seasonal residents and should be living in a fifth wheel next year. The last 5 years we’ve been living in a condo which we just sold to buy the rv. I’ll be getting an annual pass next year. Mainly because I LOVE Disney!! You would think a sixty year old woman would know better. But I don’t care, I’ll love it till the day I die!! Lol!

    After driving down from nj, the beauty of fort wilderness is that I can park at the site and not have to drive again til it’s time to go. Plus, the kids really enjoy fort wilderness too. The ambiance of it can’t be denied, especially for a kid.

    Another thing you can add is that Disney allows you to bring Small coolers into the parks. We bring our own drinks, we pack lunches and snacks. we learned that on the first day of our last trip after paying ridiculous prices on Disney food. that night we went to the Grocery store and got food an drinks for the week and still saved money.

    One item missed is your ability to take your RV with you into each theme park. It will cost about $5.00 more for parking to do this but you'll have many more options available to you and your family. I'm hungry: then go get something to eat. I'm tired: then go take a nap. You paid a lot of money for theme park tickets, so then maximize your time there. Think of the possibilities.....

    • @gregmoore3420
      @gregmoore3420 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They do not charge by the foot. They also accept school buses and other large vehicles. Best to go to google maps and actually look at the parking lot using the satellite mode. you'll see rigs in the spaces to make your own judgement on sizes.

    • @gregmoore3420
      @gregmoore3420 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Disneyland and Disney World have always had parking for RV's at their theme parks. Of coarse you pay a little more for the spot. All the other major theme parks also have special parking for buses, RV's, School buses etc. A good way to get around if you are new to RVing is to go on google maps, use the satellite feature and actually see the routes and parking areas so you more familiar with each area you are driving. I have a 26 foot class "A" Motorhome and use this trick all the time.
      Good travels.......

    • @gregmoore3420
      @gregmoore3420 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Bamaoutdoors Were run our generator in the parking lot and no one has complained. There's no body around because they are all in the park. We have a motorhome so my generator is built in. But many small trailers including "NASH" have built-in generators that run on propane so again should not be a problem. I hope this helps.

    We just checked out of Fort Wilderness on April 29, 2018. We stayed there for 7 nights and paid an average of $100 a night. Plus, staying there on property gives you free transportation to any of the parks and we didn't have to pay for parking at the parks.

    Tip from a Florida resident. Make friends with annual passholders and meet them at a nearby Walmart or Bob Evans and ride in together. You could offer to buy them a beer at the park, it's still cheaper. Or if going with friends, all pile into the same car and split the cost of parking.

    After waiting over an hour for the Disney bus only to realize they were no longer running. It was after midnight. That was the last time we used Disney transportation. We always drive. It’s wroth the parking fee. We love Disney. We shop outlets. And stay at our time share. We love Disney on the cheap. I like the mug but I’ll have to pass on the boxers, lol. MGM. Love it! Thank you for showing families they can do Disney cheaper. No one believed us. But we do crazy things. Hey, did not know about the water. We need to get back there. On the cheap. Leslye

    We have so many great National Parks here in the USA. A family can buy an annual pass for $80, visit as many times as they want, no charge for parking either. Can take in a cooler, all the food you want, etc. Camping rates at National Parks are another fantastic deal. Nice sites for around $30. Senior Pass holder? Then camping is 50% less.

    As a former Cast Member, I can tell you that you hit all the bases...you can bring in sandwiches and snacks if you want to save some $$$ on food, but, of course, no coolers. After a long hot day, though, those $10 beers are worth every penny.

      We've brought in a colaspable cooler (size requirement no bigger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high.) many times with a days worth of food/beverages and snacks. And a stroller to put it in and our gear. Hands free day :)

    Here's a tip: If you're going to eat just one meal in the parks, make it one of the breakfast buffets. Front-end load your calories (overdo it, even) and you may not even be hungry again until dark. Back in 2003, my date and I hit the Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom on our first morning, carbo-loaded like it was our job, and didn't need to eat again until dinner. The following day, we left the property and had lunch elsewhere. On our last day, I surprised her with the character breakfast buffet at Chef Mickey's (in the Contemporary) after we checked out of All-Star Movies. We hit the road immediately after and didn't need to put on the feedbag again until after we'd checked in to our hotel at our next destination.

    I guess I am an old Florida grouch too. But everyone SHOULD go to everything that Disney has to offer everywhere they can afford it. Makes me HAPPY every year when I see my dividends from Disney stock. And besides, they aren't in Yellowstone if they are at some amazingly wonderful worth every penny Disney place. And I hope they buy lots of valuable souvenirs.

    When we were there we stayed at FortWilderness for $70 a night. It was January, but that’s the best time to go. As we don’t have a trailer with a vehicle, (a small RV) the option to drive in was not available to us, plus the parking fees at each attraction would mount up. Plus, not having to drive anywhere ourselves, and get in those long lines to get to the parking, was a treat. The RV park itself was great with nice facilities and well-treed spaces. The boat is great, and once there you can take Disney transport to any place else you’d like to go. Also, though we are retired without children aboard, Fort Wilderness has a nice recreation area. Plus being in Fort Wilderness gives you a free bracelet which helps significantly with paying. All the info about onsite food suggestions and buying offsite are definitely true for price savings. They provide great tips and suggestions, truly worth taking. We appreciate all their adventures and advice, but just wanted to share that for folks like us, Fort Wilderness was a lovely option.

      Gee Moe Around 2003-2004 it was $55 for me to go to Disneyland CA, now it is like $120’s a day per person to get in. Inflation suggest it should have only gone up to about $75 for the same ticket.
      I have cousins who work there that say one of the reasons why they jack up the prices is because they don’t have a rule which limits how many ticket sales per day they are allowed to do. It keeps low income families out of the park which in turn helps with overcrowding issues. Every ride can have a 4-6 hour wait and they will still let people in who are willing to pay.

    As a Disney fanatic (annual passes 35 years). I’d like to add a couple of things about staying at a Fort Wilderness. You need to subtract $22 a day from your savings as it will cost that much each day to park in the parking lots at Disney. As for transportation, the boat that goes from the campground to the MK is very quick and fun, too. (Just realized you mentioned that at the end...)

    So I have been living in Orlando since 1989. My recommendation is to stay at Tropical Palms RV park near Celebration and Uber to the parks. My wife and I have stayed there when we do Wine and Food at Epcot. We sometimes get a hotel, but the RV is obviously a better bargain. Good bargain.

    $30 bucks a night is super cheap, but you can't compare the two campgrounds. Great pools with waterslides, cool, free character campfires, free boat rides, etc. We visit Fort Wilderness and don't even go to the parks. We just hang at the campground and sometimes visit other resorts for a change of pace. Great other tips though. Especially love the tip about sharing entrees. We should do that all the time. We love to go to WDW and are taking our grandkids in June for their first trip. We buy our tickets at Undercover Tourist and have really saved money. We also buy Disney Gift Cards at Sam’s Club at about 4.5% discount and pay for them with our Disney Visa. That way we get Disney redemption points on the purchase. It eases the pain of buying inside the parks.
    If you need an ECV, rent l from a local vendor. They will deliver to Fort Wilderness and are a whole lot cheaper!

    We bring a few snacks (energy bars and the like). You can even bring a sandwich if you want.
    A water bottle which can be refilled at fountains. Yes if it is capped you can bring them on rides.
    Buy the refillable popcorn bucket and you can use it the entire time you visit the parks for $1.50
    Look for the larger meal and share.
    Eat a big breakfast before and a big dinner after visiting the park.
    We were able keep or food and snack costs to under $40 per day. Except when we visited during the Art/Food Fest. $$$$$
    Even if being frugal, it is best to remember that going to WDW is a vacation and you should have fun and enjoy the trip.

    Also, remember Disney allows you bring in outside food and snacks with the exception of Glass containers or Alcohol. So you can make up sandwiches, chips, bottled water/soft drinks..in a backpack and bring it into the parks for a picnic; Inside the Magic Kingdom, you can go to Tom Sawyer's (Aunt Poly's where they have some picnic tables) or just set up at any place with counter service. You can also ask for a cup of ice free of charge.
    No need to "Smuggle" sandwiches, soft drinks in plastic, bags of chips...etc it's perfectly fine and allowed. disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/parks/outside-food-and-drink/
    Now if you want to smuggle...well a couple of airline miniatures in your socks...just saying.

    You could each buy a meal and only eat half. Save leftover for next day. You could each have something different. Then you could switch entrees too for variety. When you get back to RV and you are tired-just reheat!

    Great video. Been going to Disney for many years. Just a heads up. With the new increases in the Annual Pass prices it is no longer cheaper to get it for more than 10-days. The annual pass is still around another $400 over the 10-day premium. Now we do enjoy going to Fort Wilderness but even that is changing. It's become way for crowded, harder to get a reservation, and Disney seems to allow guests to misbehave more and not interfere.

      One big elephant in the room with Fort Wilderness is throw away sites. People staying off site will book a campsite for just one night just to get the onsite benefits like free parking for 2 days, check in day and check out day, and being able to book fast passes 30 days earlier. It can make it hard stringing together a trip longer than a few days. With the new "resort fee" it may get worse as some of those people would have gotten a value room instead.

    Greetings , Love Disney and usually go two or three times a year. The fifties prime time café is one of my favorite places to eat but I mostly do counter service spots. I never want to eat a heavy meal so I opt for a kids meal most of the time. More budget friendly and just the right amount of food for me.

    We were there in the mid 80s back when we were traveling in the converted school bus/motor-home. Went during Christmas week thinking it wouldn't be too busy. HA. Christmas is their busiest day of the year. Plus we froze our butts off. It was 22 degrees the day we were at Epcot. Fun times.

    Thank you for sharing your tips. I travel to create memories and experiences. My last "memory" of Disney is crowded, expensive, standing in line, big, did I say expensive? Save your $$$ and avoid Disney all together. Instead, take a long, long, drive to the west coast! The drive would be much less crowded, scenic, and a LOT more fun. But this is just my opinion. Ted

    For thousand trails members, the Orlando park (located in Clermont ... lol) is about a 30 minute drive to the parks. 4 days at wilderness resort pays for a year of thousand trails. I’m just sayin. P.S. I don’t work for, am not a member of, never been to a thousand trails campground, but hear lots of full timers like them.

    I have the Disney Chase Credit Card. Its'a regular credit card. It gives you discounts at the stores, special collector pins, discounts on the website. And you earn Disney dollars (yes, even that Disney Vacation charged to the card earns you D$) which you can use on the website or at the parks. I've been known to have $2-300 in credit before I hit the park. Oh, and if you charge a park stay, you have a number of months to pay it off, interest free. Mine is decorated with Tinker Bell. If you are going to have a credit card...

    The splitting of the entrees is probably the biggest tip you can give someone as far as "in park advice". First time we went, we were shocked at the food prices..AND the serving sizes. We didn't eat in the parks a whole lot, but when we did, we split.

    Disney now charges parking for all resort guests, say it ain't so but it's true. Standard Overnight Parking charges per Resort Category: Disney Value Resorts: $13 per night. Disney Moderate Resorts: $19 per night. Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts: $24 per night. As if they weren't making enough now this new parking fee its unbelievable, no magic without $$$ I guess.

      So far Fort Wilderness is exempt from this for the campsites themselves for one vehicle. Anything over the one vehicle gets charged. The do not charge for the golf cart parking. The cabins have to pay parking just like the other resorts. Unless the vehicle has a handicapped tag.

I always thought that it’s one of those places you should hand them your wallet when you walk in - they’ll look you over and give you back how much money you should have left ;-). One thing most people don’t know is that you can bring in an entire cooler of food and store it with guest services - just no glass.

    Great Video and tips. I do know that Undercover Tourist has some good deals on tickets if you don't have the funds for a Annual Pass but you have to buy more than a two day ticket. If you just really want to stay on property at Fort Wilderness do a search for Walt Disney World value season (typically Jan-Feb, April, Sept). Though the rates will still be twice what Sean talked about in the video, you will still save money though the parks may not be open as late.

    Love all of your videos!!! We love going to Disney world. There are cheap and free things you can do while at the parks....they have penny machines throughout the parks where you spend 51 cents to get souvenir pressed pennies with Disney Characters on them, and at guest relations in Magic Kingdom you can get a map showing locations where you get free Disney cards through out the park. We bring our own food lots of times in a backpack and refill a water bottle when it gets empty to save some $$$. There is Club Cool at Epcot where you can sample soda from around the world free. Collecting Disney Character autographs and getting your pictures taken with them (With your own camera) is actually a fun activity to do too at all of the parks. We were surprised to see how much fun that was. We have been weekday season pass holders for a few years and enjoy going to the concerts at Epcot too. There are more things that you can do, you just have to ask at Guest Services. We're looking forward to the new parks opening at Disney World. A couple of years ago we went to Fort Wilderness with our new camper for it's shakedown first trip and had a blast! Certain times during the year it's cheaper to camp there. We find it easier sometimes to drive our own vehicle to the different parks even while staying on the property, but the boat to Magic Kingdom is great!!!

    It was bad when Walt was alive, but since, the corporation has gotten really greedy! We stayed in Ft. Wilderness back in 2001 and never again! I agree with all their points but they do have sites plenty big for any size rig, we parked our 37 foot class a. It is a bit tight pulling in if you have a tree in the wrong place but totally doable, and the sites once in are huge. Guy next to me had a 40+ footer and a 15’ trailer and a van in one site. Section 300 was where we stayed last week.
