I don't mean purple lean, I mean full on robo-tripping.. and there will be a scene later where one of the protagonists goes nuts from all the chaos going on and decides he ACTUALLY WANTS TO GO TO JAIL..\ So he goes into a gas station, freaks out and does an armed robbery .. He purposely leaves evidence and footprints to intentionally give away his whereabouts and The cops come get him and you lose that character for the rest of the game. during this mission you have to try and stop him.. You will fail no matter what, but it will still be a perplexing WTF level.. However I've made some uploads to youtube and made a playlist of the prototype (Which currently have a lot of obvious but ignorable mistakes, but hey: I'm learning) which is unlisted..

I like the cutscene, but as a bit of criticism I would say having only a single line to put in dialogue is a bit limiting. A lot of the flow gets lost when you need to spread a sentence across two lines. I would definitely recommend two if not three lines of space to allow speech to flow the way you want it to.
If you wanted, you could make an entire game out of cutscenes.. Just press start and the game autonomously plays itself.. A videogame for people who prefer watching a game over actual playing .. lazy people y'know? lol You could call it a 32-bit Anime xD

Great pro tips! This was almost professional-level cutscene making! Really show what you can do with RPG Maker. :) On another note, I really like these little character emotes you made, but I do believe you could do something good with character portraits. Something akin to SMT/Persona perhaps... Now, granted, having Photoshop and knowing how to draw actual manga characters DO help a lot when you're doing this! xD

@@TeamUnpro Alright so I've reached a point where I wanna try and focus on making cutscene like this. But I'm not sure how to do the whole, clone actor thing. (I have 2 .json files already, one for gameplay and another for the actors already made!) But I mean like, controlling characters other than just Kolbalt. (My main character) also! How would we make it so the event deletes itself after playing once? Cause I dont want people to have to repeatedly go through the same thing over and over, which wouldnt make sense, whenever they have to go down a hall to do something else. Could you help at all with showing this all in a video? I'll keep ya updated though on if I manage to figure it out though
The black bars , that tinting and the text message really adds something to the scene along the way you play the scene. how do you feel about using the black bars with the traditional message window and facesets?
Sadly I dont have MV only VXAce, so I cant open up your project to figure out the little things, but I would like to learn this effect so bad... :/ Is there a way, that you can convert it to an Ace project aswell, please? :/

UnproPro, what do you think of RPG Maker MV's Gene scene builder? I bought it and I've been using it for a bit and it seems like a decent program. Do you have any experience with it?
The black bars are pictures overlayed using the show picture command. As for the emotes above their heads, those are Balloon Icons, you can display them through events as well :)
Good video with good tips, but you make a mistake with the dialog I see in so many cutscenes - splitting sentences across multiple text windows. Go back and read your dialog out loud. Act it out. It sounds like William Shatner in full on Captain Kirk mode. "Your king wouldn't" "let us have it, so we had no other choice. Peoples" "lives depend on that gem."

Hey, I have a question. What's the x and y axis based on? The tiles or is it something else? And is it centered on the camera view on the player or is on the entire map?
x refers to the horizontal position of any given object, this includes the camera. y refers to the vertical location :) 0x and 0y are the very top-left possible. Starts top left, and positive increments for x will place the object further to the right, while negative values for the x will place it more left. Positive y is more down, and negative y is more up. X/Y can refer to literally everything on the screen :) EDIT: As for what its based on, I'm not sure what you mean

Can you make a more in-depth video on this other than directing us to the description? Like, I am not sure if you're still working on this game, but the next cutscene you decide to create for whatever reason, can you just record it with you explaining exactly how to make it in the background? It would get done either way.
If you're gonna have scenes like that in your game might wanna think about putting in a skip. Especially if said cutscene is right before a difficult boss.
@@TeamUnpro You can download it successfully, but when opening it in RPGMV all that occurs is an error message saying "Unable to read file Actors.json". It doesn't actually open any aspect of the game itself, so you can't observe to see how you did it.

Control Self Switch -> A -> Turn On, After that click "New Page" at the top of your event and in the conditions on the left, select "Self Switch" and select A.

Agreed, a way around this would be a text system that makes textboxes appear above the sprite

A skip scene option is always a good choice imo
Or least a save point so losing the battle doesn't mean re-watching the cutscene.
But then if the player wanna backtrack he'd lose the save file, unless you add an option to quit right after the save.
