mum and dad watched this every year growing up & i think " up there " , they still will be laughing their heads off together!!! thank you, genius Rikki for giving us these precious moments of pure joy!! legend!!!
Nobody does it better, as Carly Simon, would say ! New Year has never been the same without our Rikki ! I met him at the bottom of Suchiehall St. I said, oh hello ! He said, Oh hello ! Made my day. RIP beloved comedian xxx Scotland is crying without you !😰
I worked on a cruise and spotted a guy with an I.M. Jolly book. I simply said 'Hello' and he came back with the same. We done that for a week. No other conversation!
R.I.P Rikki Hogmanay isn’t the same anymore you and your co actors made Hogmanay a night to look forward to every year gone but never forgotten legend sadly missed
My mum will be in heaven now, laughing her head off, at our favourite comedian. When he gave us a laugh, mum went hysterical ! Then she got me laughing !!!! Comedy genius !
Rikki actualy played a spy in the classic movie 'Gorki Park' and was a very good serious actor. He had brilliant comic timing and the 'IM Jolly' sketches parodied Scottish TV s late Call programme in which clergymen were given 5 minutes to speak to the nation. Great stuff!
I remember reading a while back that he really didn't find this character funny. He always found it bizarre that people loved it so much. He had to be persuaded a lot of the time.
Never thought I'd say it but... Those were the days.. Ricky Fulton reminds me of Y Cardigans & stay press trousers.. Provvie cheques & Ginger boatles? Lol Glasgow & it's schemes.. Maggie Thatcher & poverty.. Funny how it doesn't seem so bad looking back innit? Hahaha!
I’m English and I’d never heard of him before. Like you, I don’t know what everyone’s laughing at, which is a bit odd because I’m laughing as loud as anyone.
One of Scotland's greatest entertainers. He was, I might add, a regular church goer. I went to the same church.

I M Jolly was one of the great comedy characters, delivered with aplomb by a wonderful comedian and actor. Wonderful.

Wow, what a delivery. How could anyone give this a thumbs down? I just don't get that.
Probably some American presbyterian's who don't get humour, or mistook this is an attack on Christianity.
Spot on ....new year isn't the same now ...
His humour will never age unlike the rubbish we have to suffer now
The deadpan comedic delivery, coupled with the Scottish accent.
The Best,Isn`t It Weird Without Rikki Fulton Now At Hogmanay,He Was Quite Simply A Genius,Sadly Missed!!
The nurse who gave me my 'pain in the arm' booster jag today was about as jolly as Reverend I.M.Jolly lol
