This is my lightest, thinnest, and most comfortable dive watch that I own. Completely disappears on the wrist. They really are a true bargain! Everyone should have one of these if they are into dive watches at all.
Hi David liked your review! Good work. Can you plz tell me the size of your wrist. It will help me get a better perspective of the shots on your wrist.
This is a great watch. Very inexpensive too. $215 is pretty high for a price right now. Look around and there are a couple places that are less than $150 for it brand new with the silicone strap. However, I will say that it has a couple things I would improve upon. I would love to see this with a sapphire crystal with an AR coating on it. That's just me though. I would also like to see a 120 click bezel on it. Other than that, there isn't anything not to like. I happily wear a blue model BN0100-34L on my wrist and it is just nearly perfect. It goes well with everything too. Maybe not a suit since I don't think silicone strap watches look good when you are dressed up, but I'm only dressed up like that a few times per month. 85% of the month I'm in jeans and sneakers, so this is just a perfect watch. If you are getting the 51E with the metal strap then it would seriously go with 100% of the clothes in your closet.
Have to agree with you on the watches ability to 'match' with most styles. It is perfect for casual dress and if pushed can be worn with a suit. I wear it as my daily watch which I wear with a formal dress shirt and slacks, doesn't look out of place nor draws too much attention to itself. Definitely a useful watch to have in the collection.
I love the term, dive watch certified. Here is where that comes from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diving_watch#ISO_6425_standard_for_diving_watches Basically, hardly any watches have the second ISO 6425 standard for diving watches! Clasp is nice in that price range for sure. FYI eco-drive battery is good for on average >15 years of use but they are not lifetime devices alas.
Doesn't say where it's made, but the manual says it has a Japanese movement. Most Citizen watch cases are made in S. Korea and other bits are made in Hong Kong and China. Not sure where the watches are assembled and packaged, although some of this is possibly still done in Japan. Same supply out-sourcing practiced is employed by Seiko and Casio, and I've heard even well respected Swiss brands use parts made in the far East. Sadly the use of cheap labour by these large corporations has been going on for many years.

I like mine :) And love how you can loosen the strap when ever with the dive suit adjust!
