@@atlassolid5946 the guy who made rainbow tylenol created penis music. not the meme but the song. they also produced the big black if ur familiar with osu
This reminds me a lot of a concept They Might be Giants did. On the album Apollo 18, they made the Fingertips suite. Fingertips was a set of small tracks that might sound like a quick medley when played normally, but on shuffle would pepper the album with small interludes, making a different experience each time. They redid this concept on Nanobots, with the Insect Hospital suite. I think this album took that idea and leaned into it, turning the whole album into its own fingertips.
Oh shit, were they musicians? I only know those dudes from AQW way back in time and I thought they were just two funny dudes making skits or something. Imma go and listen to them.
A song off this album randomly got recommended to me on Spotify a few months ago. My life hasn't been the same ever since I've listened to the project. I feel a looming presence floating over my cranium wherever I go. I still come back to it from time to time to listen to it. On shuffle ofc. It's not that I even like it that much or anything. More like I just can't let go. The melodies sit in the back of my head. Ringing. Calling for me to give it one more listen. Certain combinations of tracks make the looming presence feel stronger. I won't tell you which ones for the sake of yoy being able to keep your sanity. Take this comment as you wish for I swear on my left slipper I am being honest about every single word I've written here. Be safe and take care.
The mysterious backstory of the album reminds me of the story of The Residents Not Available. And apparently when it was rereleased, it had tracks completely different to the original release. This is what I heard of Padd Cheningtons video, but album stories add a small dose of spice to the experience.
was hoping someone here would mention The Residents. They play mystery to the tee, and have since the 70s. I immediately thought of them while hearing the story behind this album
i'm a huge fan of djr and kfcmc, so you can imagine how excited i was when this showed up on my recommendations. i'm glad people are still talking about this album, it's absolutely fantastic and definitely one of my favs :)
I found this album on Spotify weekly and I was not prepared for how amazed and weirded out I would be, enjoyed the whole thing, my favorite song is DREAMS, love that distorted bass sound or whatever it is!
Jake, thank you so effin much for telling me about this album. I LOVE the concept of Cruelty Squad, and the messy, trash, sewer water-soaked, smelly rotting aesthetic of it, even tho I still have to play it (poor student life). And this album is just like if I was injected a needle full of the same garbage, smelly, disgusting water right into my veins. I love it so much.
This is the type of album where you record a shuffled mix onto a cassette tape, and just listen to it on a long bus or car ride. In the age where musicians and record companies use albums as a random collection of singles instead of prioritizing the experience of the full album, this album is a fresh start to end listening. With albums like Lemon Demon's View Monster, and Yes's Over the Edge having more linear progression, it's much more of a cathartic experience then an artist's SoundCloud singles- now, this album doesn't have a linear form, it feels the same way. Dj Rozwell's later album "Sludge Dredd" has more focus on Power Noise and Industrial Hip Hop tracks, and his newer single The Blacksmith has a great Power Noise style I like more than his Dungeon Synth.
is it weird that i've known of the existence of DJ Rozwell and Worldcorp Enterprises for a longer amount of time than I have known of the existence of most other mainstream hip hop artists
I like this genre and aesthetic, i wish there were more artists in this genre that could contribute more songs with lyrics tho. i can't really do songs without lyrics.
I got one for you. If you can find “Orange is the new Black” by Köcosanté. It’s so weird and obscure… a weird local band that uses puppets and plays metal/rap really strange and unique band. I have the cd somewhere. It wasn’t released anywhere you had to be at a show to get it.
Not mentioned, but you should also check out the 3 "EXPANSION PACK" series DJ Rozwell made for the album. A mix of ambient-style hiphop and more darker material, it bring more out of the premise and 'gimmick' of the album. Love the video, one of my all time favorite albums and glad to see it get some more attention!
He is extremely known wtf do you mean LMAO. He's huge in the underground internet sphere, and even we'll known irl. His projects have been getting good attention for years.
Crazy to see your subs fucking triple over the years like I forgot how long I’ve been watching this channel -and I still have no fucking clue what you’re talking about half the time I just like that you’re so into something-
