Watched this for the tent but took something else away. Pretty much you the sheep and the landscape. Can't appreciate the good without experiencing the bad! Great film that put across that contrasting experience.

@@soletrail I pitched it in high wind several times on a mountain ridge. Wind gusts were up to 40mph and it held up very well. I guyed out both ends of the tent for added stability. 👍
Martin, beautiful Irish weather🌧😊 The weather has its own mind alright despite our plans. Lovely to have the room in the tent to chill in the dry👍 That was a cool breakfast bar you had there😊 Loved the mist clearing around the lough and superb views from the air of the lough and your camp spot👍
I've gone and ordered my Durston X-Mid 1, but I must say the most enticing part of this video was the "rashers"! I guess in the US we'd call it Canadian bacon, but it looks thicker and delicious! Thank you so much for all the tips, stay dry out there. Kyle

Superb video as always Martin. The drone footage was amazing! The colour contrasts were gorgeous. The tent looks amazing. You appear to be extremely happy with the tent. Did you find anything negative about the tent on your adventure? Just curious. I'd say the Guinness went down well. I hope you had a chaser also. That headtorch of your looks interesting. 🤣🤣 good man Alan. No negatives yet I must say. O wait.. yes I have one. The bag. The bag is so small. Side access bags all the way for me. Cracking tent. I will do a long term review on it. That head torch is class. Fenix sent it to me to try it out. It's in a league of it's own. Will be reviewing it but wanna use it a few times to test the waters so to speak. It's a cracking spot for camping. Loved it. 👏🙌🙂
Hi, I’m looking at purchasing an X-mid 1P or Vango Helium F10 UL1 tent. I’m mainly camping on the mountains. Which of the tents would you say are better in the wind? Thanks 👍
Hello.. for wind.. the helium.. I have not fully tested the xmid in the wind but looking at design, tunnel tents for wind all the way. Xmid is lighter but only by a bit. Hope that helps. 2 awesome tents. Let me know what you go for. 😉
Got the X-mid solid two weeks ago, so here checking how it held up in the rain for you. Have only set it up in my back garden but really like it so far. On a side note, did I see you take water from the lake to boil without filtering and then some more that you filtered? Thanks for the video
Cheers David... You ready mind. Planning on doing some storm tests and leaving the tent out over night. Its a great tent. Yes you did see me take unfiltered water but I did actually go back and then get filtered. But I forgot to film it 😂
I have the xmid 2 solid and mainly use it in Wicklow. The space inside is great and, the pockets, they are just right to hold an opened can....just saying. ;)
Excellent video mate, I’m current looking for a trekking pole tent as a lighter option to my Scarp 1. My Choices are the X-Mid, Duomid and Stratospire. Have you tried the X-Mid in strong winds?
Hi David. I haven't been in bad wind yet but I'm sure it won't be long before I am. It's meant to be very good. The Scary 1 is one tent I always wanted. Such a nice tent. Hard to get thou. Make sure your telling poles are good quality to suit the tent. It's a must.
