- A calm, hazy morning just South of Trinidad California. Shot in 4K using the DJI Inspire 1 quaccopter purchased at XProHeli.
Music: “Blue Deep Full 02” purchased 11/23/12 from the royalty free “Mysterious Nature” collection sold by Footage Firm.
I grew up playing on this beach, this is the beach where my mom and dad had thier first date, where I learned to swim, where I built my first sandcastle. I live far away now, but this video reminds me of home. Thank you so much for sharing.
This was my backyard when I was a child. :-) Yes, a lucky kid!
Very nice! I cant wait to return, the river makes a great place for my golden to lounge in the water and play ball...
Some awesome shots!! It's amazing we spend all this time tuning and trying to get decent footage. Then they come out with this Inspire which does it all!
BMSWEB Yep, I'm still happy with it! Haven't flown in a week though because it's gloomy out.
Nice. I'm surprised you flew their again after the last time (-: Great shots
Wyll Surf Air Yes I was thinking about my ill fated plunge into the river in 2012!
Chad Johnson cool. Let me know next time you fly in the Trinidad area. I would be interested to check out how the inspire flies but only from the ground (-:
Chad, nice shots, I see you and the path you ran over the "spot"? it a good feeling getting pass Ed omw of end. I've been thinking eh t I really need to get back to the RV Dealership where all my problems started... Keep up the good work!
Rogue Aerial Productions Yes we need to heal the old wounds from whence we crashed in days of yore.
Good one Chad. Yes, I too thought of the crash there in 2012 while watching it. I have noticed the drift in horizon with mine also. Doesn't happen often or on every flight. Nothing too bad but it is a fast fix on the fly. I am loving the Inspire also. It is so smooth and easy to fly. I have had no problems with it so far. I still fly my XP2, but have been flying the Inspire to get used to it in general.
Russell McCollom Yes I did a roll adjustment a few times when flying this location. It seems it drifts more when it's working less. I recently did some testing in high wind, and the horizon stayed very level. I'm still loving the Inspire, but it's been overcast for 2 weeks now. I need some sun to go get some scenes I want!
That's looking really smooth - although I did see just the very odd "twitch" on the tilt (I think) don't know if it was a TH-cam glitch, or you do get the odd little twitch with it. I wouldn't have noticed, but because the rest was so smooth it really stood out.
CurryKitten If you're talking about the last shot, aiming down to the rocks, yes. I reached the limit of where the gimbal can aim and it did a hard stop. I wish DJI would update the firmware to allow for feathered stops, rather than just hard like that. I was working hard to gently tilt the camera, but at the last shot I was flying forward while tilting down then climbing up trying to keep the rocks framed all at the same time, and the hard tilt stop screwed me.
nice!
Great shots! How are you liking the Inspire 1? You've come a long way from the modified Parrot ar drone! Just picked up the P3 professional and freaking love it!
Michael Kincaid I am really liking the Inspire. The P3 looks cool, but the props get in the shot when you fly faster, and I need to do some faster speeds to cover sites like this, and the heavier weight does better in the wind. Both have the same camera though, and it's better than the Hero 4 Black, so no complaints there. I'd love it of they made a nicer camera to attach. Anyway, the thing flies like a dream, and the gimbal is really smooth, though the horizon drifts. I had to do a roll adjustment a few times during all of these last 3 flights. Still, the fact that you can do that on the fly is great. I'm bummed that it's been overcast here for over a week, so I haven't flown for a week.
I'm going on a road trip up here after Labor Day.
How do you get to that spot 🤔?
You drive there. The parking lot is just out of frame.
So it's not moonstone Beach Cambria ?
No, it’s in Trinidad California.
