Hisense has been making screens longer than most people realize. Though Hisense themselves were founded in 1994, their television and imaging came from buying Matsushita, which would later split resulting in the Panasonic we know today. That means these Hisense TVs can trace their roots back to the black and white sets Matsushita made in 1952! They also have acquired at least some technology from other companies like Hitachi, Sanyo, NEC, and Toshiba. Needless to say, Hisense knows how to make a television. They also white-label devices, so if you've purchased a Toshiba, Hitachi, or Sharp TV, you've also purchased a Hisense unit. That's not even counting the many brands for which they manufacture the panels themselves. Many of these very cheap sets will use panels that were not quite good enough for the televisions 3x the price, but you'll really only notice when it's a black scene with the backlight up all the way.

I have the 2017 Hisense 65" in my living room. The image quality looks fantastic. no light bleeding, 4k, 4:4:4 chroma support, great color. Sure it doesn't have oled level black's but no lcd does. My dad got a top model lg 60" lcd the same year and it stopped working already 😆

So I just got the U6H in the 75”. What I really wanted was the Samsung S95B or the Sony X95K. Both of the are well over $2,000 and I just didn’t feel like spending that. Yes this tv is a lower end device and with that you can’t sit there and expect the most amazing tv ever released, but for the price I’d give it a 9/10. I think some small issues I have are although It has HDR, I found I prefer how it looks in SDR. I’m sure HDR is going to suit certain situations really well, but I see myself sticking to the SDR side of things. Dolby has worked really well on this tv though, so to a certain degree I don’t think you really even have to enable HDR if you don’t want to. Also it is not 120hrz so unfortunately depending on what I’m doing there’s a noticeable difference but I just chalk it up to “ I bought the tv to save some money not to have the the top of the line”. Also, you will need a sound bar, the tv has great speakers but there is no bass. All in all I would say this, for the average consumer this is a great tv. The lighting is great and for normal gaming it does a good job. Will this be my long term tv ? No. At some point I’ll get the one I actually want and put this one in my guest room. If you buy this tv it’s not because you wanted the top of the line but you wanted to save some money. It comes with some pretty solid features. The black levels are fine and the screen itself has really good brightness. I was pretty content with the purchase even knowing what I was getting. No it’s not a Sony Samsung Or LG but out of all the other budget tvs. Getting a 75” display for $764 with solid picture quality seems pretty great to me. Don’t be a stickler, if you want to save some money but still have an over all solid tv this is a great option. Now for afew extra dollars you can get the U7H which has the 120hrz but I had to be mature and say “no you can’t afford to spend $1,099 on a tv right now” so this is where I’m at.

Thanks for reviewing the black level on this model. I own a Samsung LED with HDR but I'm very disappointed with the black levels which look like light grey. Even my 1080p plasma had far, far deeper blacks than the 4K tv! Was going to buy this Hisense just for the black levels, now I see it doesn't deliver in that area. Still a great tv..

I have this tv but the 50 inch version, while it's amazing it does have its flaws. The viewing angel is terrible, I mean really bad unless you sit dead center. The motion handling is pretty poor. It stutters and flickers when there's panning shots or scrolling. The colors and image are amazing and its really bright. I do regret not spending more money on a Sony or an lg but I moved it to my bedroom so it's not that big of deal. I hate that I'm just sensitive to these views. My other half didn't seem to be bothered by it.

I'm a huge fan of Hisense but I suggest the higher end models. You can see here the black levels are very, very gray just from watching this video. Again Hisense is great, but I'd go for a higher end model on their line of tvs. Now if they want to send me a Tv to convince me otherwise I'm here, but I personally wouldn't get this one right here.

Off the factory floor it’s extremely low however once it starts getting transported to wherever it’s going to there’s a chance it gets damaged on the way to its final destination. These panels don’t take much for something to go faulty simply dropping the box a few feet could be enough. I just ruined my workout TV I have in the basement by simply moving it and as I was walking by it just hardly nicked the drywall but that was enough to damage the screen with lines going through it and duplicates and then the entire thing went black after a day like that.

At 6:15 - 6:18 the woman's face is green and some of the background on the wall is light green is this normal? I ask because I have the Hisense 55 U6H and I get this on many different video sources whether is it an HD cable box which is where I see it the worst and where it is inconsistent from HD channel to channel, the worst being HGTV programs when they are filming inside residential homes i.e. the walls in the kitchen or Livingroom but it could show up at anytime on any channel, it sort of this greenish tinge throughout the picture. It shows up on streaming sources as well including HDR the worst being the Jack Reacher series on Amazon Prime Video. I have adjusted many picture settings and researched advice through TH-cam videos and the RTINGS website and I cannot figure out what the issue is. I have read sporadically that it is a panel uniformity issue, DSE - dirty screen effect or the infamous panel lottery, maybe backlight bleeding, not sure. Most people on different websites think it is the panel lottery [the Tv is poorly manufactured/quality control issues, cheap components or all of these] but this is now the third Hisense 4K TV that has had this issue, the others were the 58" R6 and returned both of those and I purchased the TCL 55S41 recently and it has the green tinge issue as well, so 0 for 4 on the panel lottery it's hard to believe. What Am I missing if anything? Jon do you know what could be causing this greenish color showing up in different shades of green on all sources from HD Cable box to streaming apps? Anyone else?
