Thank you! I just moved into a 4 year old house and my destructive family has already created several blemishes in the walls. Regular patching really stands out. I look forward to attempting this method.
I like your voice. It's very soothing and friendly. Thanks for the tutorial! 😎 Edit: once I got to the thin spackling section around 4:30 I realized I was watching straight up unintentional ASMR 😂 I like it.
Thank you! I never know what to do after sanding and painting and yes, you can tell there is a difference... Thankfully all the jobs I have done are hardly visible so not an issue per se but great to know! PS: for those of you who think that contractors do it better well NO. Absolutely not. It's usually a disaster. I have yet to find someone who knows how to patch a hole!
Awesome video. Thank you. I just bought my house and videos like this help out since I have never done any handyman type things. The only other thing that might help is a list of tools used so when I head over to Lowe's I can say "This is what I need" :-)
Great trick exactly what I was hoping to find on all these other "professional" videos. Probably the #1 part of patching that most people are worried and they all omitted it.
Great video! I just finished first coat of paint on one wall in my garage and all the spackle spots are showing through. Definitely going to try this tip.
I have filled thousands of patches in my work and have never tried this. I typically just do a few coats with a coarse roller on it to try to hide it better before I do a full room paint. I will give this a shot and see how it works.
Been touching up my bathroom, a small job turned into a nightmare, drywall always drives me nuts getting it just perfect. I'm thinking this will help. Thanks.
This might actually help if you could have filmed this with something other than a potato. You could not see the difference in the texture on the wall and patch, after you applied the paper towel. You owe me five minutes of my life back.
Deadpool helping me fix my walls! Thanks bro
😂😂😂😂 omg you're right. Free guy spackling tips
@@CJHenry22 😂😭💀

THIS. Other patching videos don't address this issue of texture matching. THANK YOU for your thoroughness and attention to detail.☀

The texture of my patches is always visible when viewed at an angle. Cant wait to try this paper towel trick
Sounds like Ryan Reynolds!! Awesome tip!
dude i hear that! look at my comment I just added on this video LOL
This is exactly what I was looking for!

What would be really awesome - is if you put on "deadpool" costume gloves while doing these videos. It would be AMAZING.
I rewatched this after seeing your comment 😂
He DOES sound like Ryan Reynolds!!!! I want Deadpool home improvement OMG I'd watch that even if I'm not fixing anything.
Thank you so much! 💓
Great tip

I've tried this fix and it blends well, only issue is my flat paint is flashing! How can this issue be corrected?
Thank you! I accidentally just put a dent in my parents’ wall trying to roll a knot in my back out with a ball. 😵😩🙈
I think if you do a few coats of paint it will give the spot the texture it should. But cool idea you have there 👍
Yup. I usually do 2 or 3 coats when painting and it looks like new
@@thehound1359 I wish it worked but no... it depends on the texture of your walls :/
Thank you must try asap the landlord is getting antsy lol
Some of us didn't have dads so thanks.
Yep feel that bro
Maybe you weren’t worthy of a Dad
Pretty smart idea!
good work you took care of business
I use the smallest paint roller and roll over it with the roller damp....textured like the paint under it.😁
damp roller on top of the paper towel?
@@BillSWi roll damp paint roller over final skim coat of plaster as the pre existing texture on the wall is from a paint roller
I may try 5-6 coats to see if that works. No luck with 3!
Wondering if you can use this method to fix a spot that were poorly patched or do you have to cut it out and start again?
I’m curious about this too. Did you ever find the answer? Can I just sand the blotchy paint down?
That was some unique insights...
paint kilz over patch so paint doesn't soak in - thanks for the paper towel hack
Thanks Deadpool 👍🏾
I use a sock works great
Just any ole sock?
Great Tip. Thanks!
Just add another coat of paint.
What is it called that he using ? And How do you spell that stuff he is using
Great!
I came here for 4:00 thank you
Great hint.
YOU ROCK!!! Thank you!!!!
smart smart!
THE PATCH PASTE JUST STICKS TO THE PAPER TOWEL!!!! GODDAMMIT!
Try dampen the towel a bit before. So it wont suck the moisture out of the paste and pull it off.
Do u paint the entire wall?
Not if you can match the paint. If not, then you may need to. Depends on you.
That texture is called "orange peel".
That was a nasty jump in the video at 2.38
I think a lot of people are here because they made dents in the wall from gamer rage lol
Didn’t work it clumped up
naaah, failed!
