Got cast in a adult only ballet production of Selections From A Sleeping Beauty. We are workshopping the third act. Also all the dancers in the show our older and not professionals. Very excited to start rehearsal.
Hello from Portugal, thanks for the video. I feel that nowadays big dance schools want students to enroll at a really early age. This pressures the parents to be ever more involved in the school selection and audition processes. My 11yo son just got a rejection from the Royal Ballet School. I understood that they prefer to enroll students from year 7 and ideally they should have already been associates from early on on their dance path. Now I am at a loss to know if I should help him find other good schools abroad or if I should just let time follow its course and encourage him to develop further as a dancer before trying again next year.
Watching the YAGP competition from Barcelona, of course these 12-year-olds are astonishing, but one fears they will be burnt out by 18: they do variations - no, they get through - variations which would daunt professionals, but is "getting through" really the point?
Oh isabella, i have a problem and i have to ask you if you can help. In auditions i usually go very well in general, but i struggle with the walking before and after the center's combination starts, i just dont know how to make the preparation for the diferents steps, for example walk into a adagio or pirouettes or waltz
Hope you enjoyed everyone! :-) Auditons are tough! We are here for you x
