This is a Good video Lesson but if you want to see something truly amazing, check out Ron Sissons - Real Swing Golf 'before and after'. Let me know what you think.
27 years of golfing and the biggest takeaway I got from this video was "waggle, waggle, tap tap." That to me helps with everything. I got the Martin Chuck Simple Strike technique that I purchased at Performance Golf, and that was great too. I also took some lessons, but the waggle, waggle, tap, tap... That seems like nothing, but it is a key part in my routine now. When I do that I get the confidence I need in my swing, and I know I am positioned right and my body is set for success.
Wow.. I knew you were a good teacher but I'm amazed at your teaching style and technique. I never once heard anything overly technical to confuse your student, just simple teaching with a very practical approach. A lot of people, including so called swing coaches could learn from this.
An incredible teacher that knows how to relate to the student by using various scenarios or examples from other sports and activities to increase understanding. I definitely need a lesson or lessons from this guy.
I watched this video in full 3 times. I took the pre-set up to the course and had one of my best rounds ever. I’ve seen dozens of instructors give preshot routines but this is very detailed. If you follow this preshot routine EVERY time, I guarantee you’ll improve your game. I still had my challenges hitting off uneven lies, but overall I was hitting the ball RELIABLY.
“I washed it yesterday” “Oh cool!” 😂😂😂😂 Honestly watched this lesson a few times…it’s great learning, especially as an instructor learning to communicate more effectively. The cleaning the clubs part got me though 😅
Between the simple strike sequence videos and randoms I've found on TH-cam I've been flushing everything. Recently realized that less effort is more for me. Thank you for the way you simplify everything.
I watch a lot of videos from LPGA players. Their slower swing speed and use of fairway woods are the kind of method I use for the same reason as you: I don't swing hard anymore. Plus, they're deadly accurate on and around the greens.
After coach worked out the basics, I love the rhythmically vocal cues each time the student made each shot. This routine will not be forgotten the minute student leaves the range. If I was this beginner I would save my money and cut this lesson in half. There is no need to be on overload after an absolutely great 1/2 hour of work. Student will have great things work on after terrific 1/2 hour lesson.
I know this is a year later. As you can see, I don't scan the comments much. Cutting the lesson fee in half is not an option. Electing to leave the session is up to the student. I've had some students say, "That was great...I gotta go." Lessons are paid in advance upon the time of the reservation. If someone books a session, whether 1 hour, three hour or full day with on-course play, they are paid before the session. It's not fair to the coach if time is reserved. He could sell that knowledge and time to someone else.
Martin, love the 'taptap'... I always tell new golfers that I play with the most important thing to understand (with irons) is to hit the ground in front of the ball. Thanks for posting this great video. Happy new year!!
I wish my golf instructor gave me a lesson like this! My pga pro treated me like I was incapable of understanding these golf concepts that are so key. Great stuff
You are so very good at what you do! You’re not only knowledgeable but what stands out in my mind is how positive you are. How could students not help but be inspired. Did I mention your sense of humor? Or maybe because at 70 I know what a phone booth is. 🤷🏻♂️ Thank you for posting, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wes
I like that field goal type of target pole that you created about 40 yards from the ball. It also gives you the view of the head position from down-the-line. I will visualize this when I start practicing and playing this year.
I should have been went to see MC by now. Been years and I want a face to face 1hr lesson. I'm so mad at myself for not booking sooner, when I 1st learned about him via my Dad. Smh.
I really enjoyed watching this. In future sessions, will you have him focus more on his foot pressures and lower body moving subtly at address? Seems to me he is too stationary before his back swing. A trigger motion helps me. I feel my feet and move my lead hip very slightly to start my back swing. Great lesson! A note after 6 months: I've been working on my swing and have discovered what I needed. I focus on weight pressuring into my trail heel on back swing and weight pressure into my lead heel on down swing. This has improved ball striking. I now am able to hit the sweet spot instead of toward the heel of the club. I also have learned to start my back swing very slowly and deliberately using my shoulder rotation to move the club. I'm hitting my wedges pure. Holed out a few from 50 yards and a couple from 75 yards this week in practice.
Love what MC is teaching here and how he goes about teaching but kind of silly to me that he is adding in "holstering" the club as part of the shot routine lesson. I get it you wanna have a solid and repeated shot routine but this part of it I think is not crucial to creating a good swing and making good contact lol
Hayden - Why not say spastic? Compared to tour pros that play perfect golf, most people look pretty spastic out there; too funny! I almost can't stand watching the LPGA tour. I am so envious it is almost maddening watching those girls magnificent play; pure beauty!
I'm a golf coach in England and I have total respect for how you conduct yourself to the pupil and get the very best from them...Total fan!

"I'm not a miracle worker, this is 1 lesson, although if you saw your swing before today you might think that" 🤣🤣🤣 I died
How about, “not that you’d know what a phone booth is.” lol
I try to have fun and poke a little fun, too. You have to know your audience.

I'm studying my coach before going to the Raven in Feb. Good stuff. I've had several lessons but this is quite interesting.
See you in February!!

@@matthewpocock4824 excellent comment. I guess “swinging like a girl” is a good thing. Lol.

When a green student with no confidence gets to the point of trying to process 38 pieces of information he ends up freezing over the shot.

Nah, just a guy who loves golf and helping golfers get better.
This is gold. Can't wait for the next one. Thanks Martin.

Great session, coach. Cheer, TH
Great coaching demeanor!
Thank you!

25:35 - for all of us working on this pre shot routine 😜👍🏻👍🏻
40:12 - this is a gem! #golfgospel
good work! played a round there last week!
Ober deR - You are playing there; I am jealous. We all have a lot of things in life to be thankful for, huh?
This is the best golf coach I’ve ever seen. Do you accept students from Canada?
I speak Canadian. 😂 I’m actually from Ontario.

It’s actually a big deal to be able to holster without looking like a spaz. If you can do it, a lot of things that preceded it went very well.
What are your teaching credentials?
@@TylerMunds a couple of PGA things and 35 years of experience.
