The part where Luke says “you’re especially independent of me,” I think it sounds like a mixture of surprise, amusement and a little resentment, as if he knows his influence over her has waned (despite the fact that he also told her that she needed to grow up and stop acting like a child). Perhaps it’s a “be careful what you wish for” situation? Also, I love how he continually tells her that he doesn’t care/couldn’t care less about her, what she does, or what happens in her life, but clearly his actions (both here and in other scenes) show the opposite. He’s not convincing on that front at all. LOL!
Yep one of my MANY favorites! Him trying to play so cool.... but so fuming and crazy underneath.... Mr. Geary is the master and Ms. Francis was incredible too... gosh I love their work together... ALL of it!

One more thing - TG is a master of body language, I love to watch how he uses it! This along with the facial expressions are just wonderful to watch! He is a master!

I believe in crazy passionate Luke and Laura!!!!! But I also believe given the ……uh……lead time so to speak ……. Luke woulda been prepared for whatever came up.

I never thought about Luke wondering if Laura was sick because she might be pregnant, but it does make sense, especially with the problems caused the first time she thought she might be pregnant with his baby. I love how jealous yet protective Luke is also. He wants her to need him, he wants the upper hand so it makes him crazy thinking she might be "moving on". And yes, Robert as a rival can't be underestimated, Luke took that very seriously. Robert was handsome, smart and rich.
Jealous Luke. The clothes he is wearing make him look longer and really show off his lean build. This is such a good scene. The way they play off each other.
I can't say enough about this scene. I also love how comfortable they are with each other physically. And, they interact even in their facial expressions. She'll raise her brows and then he'll do the same in his response. It's like they are ONE. I have never thought they were involved w/each other in "real" life, but I do think that they had a special connection to have acted so beautifully and seemlessly together.

By the way, I love how they tease the viewers by actually moving closer, giving the impression they might actually kiss when she ends up in his arms as he pushes the door open. I remember thinking they did this on purpose when I watched it on TV the first time!
They used to do the "will they, won't they" ad infinitem with all couples back then because they'd lose viewers when the couples actually got together. This formula gets so old with LnL and is inappropriate with them because they have so much chemistry with each other that the narrative just isn't that important. Unfortunately, they still used this same tired formula with them and we suffer because of it!
She did more than hold her own.. she challenged him just as much as he challenged her. She should have a slew of emmy's and I will NEVER understand it!
I have watched the 79-81 episodes so many times that I have found a few examples in there where GF is out acting TG. It could have been a bad day for him or maybe she's just way on her game...but she is the one pulling the scene together. 💯
I am glad they make Laura intelligent. Her mother is a doctor, and I believe her father (biological) was in medical school too... she should be smart.She was VERY young at the beginning only 14, 15, 17... so she would make mistakes, but love to see her growing in to the woman we all know and love here. Hate when writers write her whimpy. I actually like Tony Geary and Irene Suver's writing for Laura better than anyone elses (other than the originals with Gloria Monty's influence).
ITA, Laura is smart, remember her talking about history being one of her best subjects in school? She got her street smarts from being on the run with Luke. And in spite of her immaturity and the debacle with David Hamilton, I think this character is emotionally intelligent about others. I think that is what really hooked Luke. She was empathic towards him. They both have abandonment issues. On the surface they seem to be wound-mates but ultimately are soul mates.

Yeah, TG once said that a lot of what their relationship is about (that is Luke and Laura NOT TG and GF just to clarify for some) is lust. They are certainly good at projecting that for sure... which is great acting!

Robert was a serious rival, not a boy, but a man who knew what he wanted and was out to get it. I think Robert would have moved a lot faster if he hadn't promised Rick to go slow. He did have strong feelings for Laura.

Yes GF / Laura was very young. GF started GH in 1976 She was 14 at the time she came to PC with her Mom and StepDad. Thank u Rosie
