Loose fitting linen for the win! Basically my summer uniform. It's abolutely perfect for heatwaves, when you still want some coverage against the sun, and will still keep you comfy should we ever get cooler evenings again.

Having worn color quite a lot when I was younger but switched to a more minimal color palette-even more minimal than yours, it makes getting dressed so much easier. Cool neutrals, white, black, navy, gray with blues in summer, adding cool burgundies and cool greens for fall and winter is about as colorful as I get.

Hi Emma. As always,your styling tips are so useful. I can definitely recommend wearing linen in very hot weather living in a hot country. It really is a cooling fabric- perhaps even more than cotton and neither am I a fan of bright colours and stick to neutrals too. I so agree about make up in hot weather and although I’ve been lucky with my skin having no blemishes or rosacea, I stick to my normal skin routine and sun cream. By the way, I’ve just ordered the light beige Tulum sandals from Birkenstock to add to my collection which I think are great summer footwear and so,so comfortable !🧡🌻🌞

My number one summer rule is to tie my hair up, even though I look better with hair down. I just hate how much it makes my neck all sweaty, it's really one of those little things that I really can't stand. Summer is hard for style, I'm most definitely a winter girl (despite being born in July), I'm going on a beach vacation for the first time since I was a teenager so I had to buy a couple of new pieces but it was really hard for me to find stuff I like, and I'm not even touching on the nightmare that it is to find a good swimsuit that's affordable. I finally settled on a couple of summer dresses, and some light trousers. I tried to find things that I could wear at the beach but also wear in my day to day life. A thing that I do like is sunglasses, I love a very simple outfit with a pair of big sunglasses, it's instantly making it more interesting. I can't wait for next week video, I'm still in need of inspiration. Have a great week! :)

For the gals who still need to wear makeup due to rosacea like me or blemishes, the Nars soft matte pot concealer is AMAZING. You literally need a teeny bit to cover up areas you need over SPF and it doesn’t budge. I wear that instead of foundation on hot days.
Linen definitely a great material in heat waves. I love maxi dresses and long skirts and lose t - shirts and denim shorts. I was never a fan of open toe shoes and i find strap flats shoes they can leave tan lines too. I am tend to wear runners in summer and spring. I find wearing bra’s are so hard during hot summers so uncomfortable so i invest in supported bras without the wire in them also wear them at home too.
Emma, have you noticed colour transfer from the Dragon Diffusion bags? I just got the Nantucket in black and within one use, it left black scuffs on my light coloured clothes. I've solved the problem by draping a long scarf over my shoulder to avoid dye marking my clothes (and the handle abrading my bare shoulder) otherwise, love the bag. So chic and practical.

Don’t forget to cover the neck and upper chest with high-SPF sunscreen everyday. The skin there is very thin and delicate and tends to age very quickly. I’m 62 and many women of my generation have very leathery, spotted wrinkly skin there. Thanks to my regular use of sunscreen, mine isn’t too bad, but there is some sun damage, I wish that I had started using sunscreen there earlier than my mid-20s.
Love the choices, with the dresses and any too, I hate wearing a bra but wondered if you could recommend, I’ve tried nipple shields but they don’t always work plus I hate throwing them away after a few uses. Thanks.

I’ve only had Ancient Greek sandals as of this Summer, I’ve never tried them previously but it’s safe to say I’m obsessed 🙌🏼 BUT I do have very slim feet and just from comments I think the general consensus is that they are best on slim feet for the fit x

Try using a protector spray on it, depending on the amount of use it gets you will have to keep topping it up 👍🏼

I believe you can get reusable washable ones although I’ve never tried them. I don’t really care about nipples showing I just want to be comfortable x

@@EmmaHill damm i had these on my summer wishlist, but i could see in the pictures from Net a Porter etc... that they are for slim feet, but yea it was wishfull thinking😢😊 of my part that they could fit me. Also bc there are not so much reviews from them 🤷🏻♀️

I've been looking for a dress exactly like the Matteau one all year (I was previously waiting for it coming up on Cos as they have had very similarly styled dresses on their site in the past). But basically would love a dress with a jersey top and a cotton flowy midy skirt. I can't afford the Matteau one - do u have any other dupes for this? 🙏🙏
Massimo Dutti had a similar one but I think it sold out, have you tried looking on eBay, Vinted, Depop to see if anyone is selling a Cos one, or even a Massimo Dutti one?

Yes, in fact it was in my basket and then the brand got in touch and asked if I wanted anything. I actually made a further order from the same brand and have spent far more than I’ve been gifted with them. I love them 🙌🏼
