Had knee surgery and the day I got cleared to walk with no assistance I bought barefoot shoes. Not even 2 months in and I’ve noticed a physical difference and a strength difference. I wear them religiously.
I’m 10 years in to barefoot-style-only shoes, and nothing but goodness for me personally. Except… they are still harder to find and typically more expensive. I found a local REI that claimed to stock XERO shoes, but when I went in the barefoot shoes were on a clearance rack. Luckily, one of the remaining pairs fit me, but overall in the U.S. it can still be hard to find good barefoot shoes in brick/mortar shops. Most of my shoes I order online.
Same for me in the UK.
Online, London, Amazon.
I love Xeros and also been wearing earth runners and paleo shoes- during the warmer months of where I love in New England.
My new fav is the Xero rain boots!
Barefoot african ranger boots ❤
I love this lady.
Correct toes + barefoot shoes are indeed great. The toe spacer unlocked my ability to run 5+ miles in barefoot shoes.
The Karhu ikoni trail hits all the boxes that she recommends and is the most comfortable running shoe I’ve ever had. Wear them even when I’m not running because of how great they feel.
I have a high arch and bridge and a wide foot.
I have a narrow foot & can’t find shoes any more, they don’t make narrow
I have pins in my foot because of an accident & I want cushioning to support the toe
My Xeros shoes have been excellent. Have a pair for work and another for workouts. They work brilliantly for CrossFit, running etc - guess I’ve just become used to them. Solid sole and the width gives enough room for the toes to literally spread out and wrap on. Work pair look quite good too.
I've been barefoot for 6 months. Do big toe correction with bands and spacers. My feet are super strong now. It's so odd being able to control individual toes and splay my toes. It's like having extra limbs
I have been considering trying a Barefoot shoe and after this video and interview i for sure will try
They are amazing! I’ve been in them for 12 years (I’m a 50yo woman) 🙌

What if you have a wide toe box shoe but regular socks ?
Great
I have been suggesting people this very long. Either they already doing it or never.
Altra shoe brand destroyed my knee replacement ...my orthopedic surgery hated them
What is the name of the company that makes the toe spacers? Also, I did not watch the complete show. Did they mention that diabetics have a lot of foot problems? These problems might even be seen in the prediabetic stage.
I've been going barefoot 10x more than I used to, and now my actual foot bones hurt - like a lot (not my heels, but at the ball of my foot)
Maybe go barefoot a bit more gradually? I love my xero barefoot shoes.
I have twin toes on both feet. I don’t think these spacers will work for me
Most foot surgeries are a failure? That's not great if true.
It is true. foot surgeries, particularly bunion surgeries, rarely go as well as people hope. Which is why trying PT first, and getting the right shoes for your deficits, is key.
Xero and Vivo are not foot-shaped they just have good marketing. They may be more so than a traditional shoe but they’re still too narrow and prevent big toe abduction which is the root of most foot problems.
So, what shoes do you recommend?
yea wat do u recommend then?
Why are barefoot shoes so ugly??? ….and why don’t big brands like Nike and adidas have wide toe box offerings? … is it because they are ugly and won’t sell???
yea they r ugly no doubt
Conditioning? Advertising? I have always found Nike and Adidas shoes to be ugly.
