I want this standard returned to my nation and for it to be placed in glory

1975 ushered in PNG's Independence as a sovereign and democratic nation. Late Sir Michael Thomas Somare the architect of PNG's Independence. 🇦🇺🇵🇬

The independence is good but it was also sad letting Australia go. We should have let Australia stay on or get autonomy instead of independence, in that way, development will be fast whilst, law & order, health, & education, will be generally good.

No regret! keep moving forward...PNG is doing fine and lucky to gain Independence... a great future waiting ahead...Australia will always be in PNG 200%...PNG is safe and the future is bright, what you see and experiences now are transient problems...common in third world countries...PNG is doing great.

@@tunariva8212 - Interesting. I want greater PNG citizen involvement here in AUS in all employment tiers, and of course, in hospitals, policing and defence, think rotational force concept, a la the US Marine Rotational Force based in Darwin. Training and for skills to take back into PNG.
I'd similarly expect US Forces to open up intake of qualified PNGDF for purposes of training and mutual assistance.

PNG independent, lowered the Australian flag with high respect and handed it over to Australia , with out any disrespectful manner. That showed PNG have great honour and respect to her mother colony nation Australia.

Were always considered good rugged soldiers. ADF, US Forces and other allied nations mutually train to improve skills and interoperability. Those who serve in the PNGDF should be considered patriots by all PNG folk.

When King Charles was a prince. 5 years later from that date he went to Rhodesia and was entertained by Bob Marley in the newly independant Robert Mugabe led Zimbabwe. 👐🙌👏

The soldiers were smart back then. The old lady was crying back then cause she knew what will happen today. And it’s happening.
