    Coming from an Orioles fan, yes Zack we did hate all the home runs we gave up, but moving the wall back will also attract elite free agent pitchers in the future

    Zack, I think now is a good time to vent my frustrations. As a kid I relished the opportunity to go to Forbes Field in Pittsburgh ( yes I am that old" for batting practice. I now live in Maryland and frequent Camden Yards. The frustration is, they don't let you in the ballpark for batting practice. I believe that teams that have that policy can improve attendance by letting the fans in earlier for bp. If you have any influence, and you most certainly do by your TH-cam subscribers, petition the teams to open up for bp. I would be the first to sign such a petition.
    Keep the content coming. I enjoy your videos and am living my dream through your baseball travels. Peace brother.

  • @beavisandbutt-head3735
    @beavisandbutt-head3735 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Hey, Zack! So, if the new dimensions "scare off" free agent hitters, they're just not ready for the bigs in the first place. Legit power hitters can reach 384' in their sleep! Austin Hays took one to the second-deck in left the other night, in the rain, and he's nowhere near a bonafide power hitter. Anything new in life, takes an adjustment period to get used to. I'm sure, the first couple times you went to stadiums you weren't familiar with, it took some time to adjust.
    I love the wall and new dimensions, it's long overdue. It validates the true power guys, and gives hitters with less power something to strive for. The original dimensions were a joke Zack, and you know it. Routine fly balls to left, would float over the wall if there was a slight breeze. A hard line-drive that would be a long single anywhere else in the league, would get over the wall. The weather definitely played a part early on, too. It felt like cold weather hung around extra long this year.
    The new wall/outfield dimensions isn't the problem in Baltimore. The lack of respect for the fans', by turning a once proud organization into a complete laughing stock, is the problem. This current organization doesn't have a clue, that's why the stadium is empty night-after-night/year-after-year. Unfortunately, I don't see things changing for the better anytime soon!

    I disagree, I think it’s great for baseball. Not everything needs to be a home run, and it forces both the away team and the Orioles to be either more powerful, or preferably, learn how to win games with fewer home runs. Plus, it doesn’t really make Anthony Santander hit any fewer home runs 👍🏼

    I don’t understand why stadium layouts especially the perimeter of the playing field is being changed at some of these stadiums, just leave well enough alone. MLB needs to stop changing the game and there was absolutely nothing wrong with how the game has been played and there’s nothing wrong with the stadiums the way they were built originally especially in regards to Camden Yards. MLB leave these iconic stadiums alone and stop changing things that don’t need to be changed.

    The reason they moved the wall back was to attract good free agent pitchers. No one wanted to pitch in Baltimore because of left field. That is the reason they gave for changing it. Makes sense

      Wouldn’t that in turn scare away right handed hitters

      @@dylancha3030 The Orioles have never had a problem with developing their own hitters. Even when the wall was closer they didn't really sign any major right handed hitters except Albert Belle back in the late 90's and maybe Nelson Cruz in the early 2010's. That's about it. The problem has been starting pitching. They can't draft or develop SP for shit so they need to rely on free agents. Most did not want to come here because of left field.

    90 bucks per ticket for non premium seats at an Orioles game?? That's insane.

    Zack were you at the Phillies vs Diamondbacks game Friday night? I was there and was wandering if you were there. I didn’t have time to walk around the stadium much because I did not get there until the game started.

    I don’t understand why they pushed the wall back so far. The old wall wasn’t even that short compared to other ballparks. I could understand moving the wall back like 5ft but they went way too far.

      Taking out even a row or two would be fine but taking out all these seats is just odd and makes on days like this the park more crowded in the parts where people will be.

    I don't know about what others here think, but to dodge fans, posts, and distractions to make that underhand grab during BP was awesomely impressive. Nice catch Zack ! I'm guessing your difficult catches are my favorite thing about your videos, aside from making young fans happy with baseballs & autographs.👍

    Zack, I know you live in NYC, but I have a simple question for you. Do you know who Al Clark was and his relationship with "joltin" Joe DiMaggio? My Dad knew him and Got a Baseball signed by Al Clark and Joe DiMaggio in 1937. That ball is mine now, since Dad died back in '95.

    The Orioles basically just said "instead of losing by 15 we'll only lose by 10 now"
