A really nice down to earth review, and it ticks all the right boxes.
I own one, in Pure White, and everything you have said in your video is spot on.
Thank you for a no thrills honest opinion on your Tungsten Silver pocket rocket

I own a silver (best colour in my opinion)Vw up gti and i love it.but i wish it had disc brakes on the back and LED headlights with the red line going through them like on the polo/golf gti.

I agree those features would be lovely, but I also like the fact that it’s cheap... tricky toss-up but love the car anyway!

Nice review 👍🏼. I too own a silver GTI cracking little car however I’d be interested to know during your ownership if you have any issues with it? Namely any creaking coming from the steering column? Also sticking drum brakes? Cheers.

Hi LUNDOG, I can't say I've experienced any issues at all during my first year of ownership. It is driven about 250 miles a week, so I don't think it gives it chance for the drum brakes to stick. And there definitely isn't any creaks or rattles, just the usual meticulous German build quality. Hope this helps :)

Can you turn off the sound actuator for, say, a long Motorway journey?

Unfortunately not, but I really, really wish you could!

Would be interesting to compare this to a Kia Picanto GT line with the 1 litre turbo 99bhp.

Certainly would! If only I could get my hands on one! Thanks for watching Jon! You can check out my other reviews in the playlists section

That's no big deal, what is for me is there's fake engine sounds being played in the cabin as you drive. That's never ok for anyone who isn't a toddler.
