Either of those liquids in the blender with a pinch of Xanthan gum will thicken up into a nice slippery shampoo. I tried a two part shampoo treatment with the first part apple cider vinegar and the second part baking soda. The Xanthan gum really helped turn those into 'shampoo consistency'.
yes, 1Tbsp baking sida to a cup of water really cleans my hair. Then i rinse with 1Tbsp apple coder vinegar to a cup of water. Your scalp will feel amazing afterwards! and of course your hair
I have heard amazing things about this plant. I am so glad that you have done a video all about it. I saw my first facebook post about it 3 or so weeks ago. Then right after that I needed some mouse and they did not have my normal brand. They had paul mitchell made out of this plant mouse. Man is it super conditioning!!!! I am going to be growing this and making hair products!!!!
Love how you had a garden helper!!!! I've been wanting to find some shampoo ginger for awhile now. You've convinced me that it NEEDS to go in my garden! Thank you for the video. Loved all the info.
You could mention, at the end: "There are things like argan oil etc in the store-bought shampoo, so blending the oil and the shampoo ginger could also work. Thanks for the content
I love your videos always learn something new. Couple thing's you probably already have in your yard that are great for your hair, rosemary(anti inflammatory and good for itchy scalp) and red flower hibiscus(moisturizer) pretty much just make a tea/rince. Shampoo ginger is on my wish list and had no idea there were so many used. Thanks again. Xo
I instantly subscribed you are a really Kool woman of the earth and I didn't know this strain of ginger existed .anyways thanks and keep experimenting ❤❤ extra love to ya.
So funny. I actually was coming to Ask you about this plant. I had seen your shampoo flowers in a previous video and i got my first root last year. By this spring it jad already spread to about eight plants but i didnt get any flowers this year. You just answered every question I had. I am going to go ahead and move them to my chosen spot behind the screen patio now. And wait to see how they grow this next year. I was flabbergasted with how many plants grew from that one root this year but they all leaned badly. Now I think i will do a better job. Thank you.
Great video! From my experience, it took my hair and scalp about a month to get used to natural shampoo. Would love to see a follow up video if you try this ginger shampoo for a month and see any difference...cleaner, softer hair. Thanks!
Hello from Brasil, are there other varieties of this plant because here I have something like this growing but it gives white flowers. I find this so facinating. Thanks in advance for any tips about my version. Renee in sao Paulo.
Hey Christina Just got a small clump from a friend. But my dog wasn't nearly as helpful as your kitten planting it, and I didn't look nearly as beautiful.
The more appropriate term is "Nut Milk Bag or Strainer"... My friend giggled at me incessantly and never let me live it down when I said "Nut Milk Sack"
Lol Christina, you are the funniest garden chick on youtube, and i mean that as a compliment. Hi from 🇦🇺 🤙
Hey, thanks!

Thank you for this. I will try it. Apple cider vinegar is wonderful for the hair.

It's so good! It's great for hair and skin too. You can use it instead of aloe.

That was a lot of work, thanks for making this video for us!
Fantastic video! Have the ginger plant around. Thank u for the inspiration on how to use it!

Great point!
Awesome!! I grow this here in Florida also, and my daughter washes her hair with it.
It's so good!

Thanks for the tips! I made a rosemary tincture before, but had no idea about the red hibiscus.

Amazing 😊
Thanks 😄
The angel trumpets and shampoo ginger in the thumbnail is so funny because that’s my backyard 😂
Love that!

Renee in sao Paulo.
Hi Renee, there are numerous varieties in the ginger family! You might have culinary ginger or galangal, but I can't really say without seeing it.
See now I'd love some but i live in the midwest & ive never seen anyone have them, though really want some
You could try growing it indoors with grow lights and humidifier. I've seen people grow them like house plants, but they don't do as well as outside.
Cool as long as it doesn’t change you hair colour to ginger😊
I see what you did there!
When I build my earthship, I will grow this directly next to my shower
Love that!
I love the smell of dirt in the morning.
Can it be consumed?
Yes, but it doesn't taste very good.
Hey Christina

Give it some time, it will get there!
@foreverfoodforest - I don't think I'm going to get any prettier...
... oh, you mean the clump of ginger.
store-bought shampoos mostly have a blend of the cheapest ingredients that cleans your hair.
Correct, and most of the time made from industrial waste.
Here in South Africa we do not find this ginger.
You have so many other lovely plants like Banksia that we can not grow easily in Florida.

😂😂😂
Good to know!
Well I’m confused, toxic shampoo that’s free😮
Oh poo, it's a sham!
