    I love the engine sound of my Tiger800, actually I decided to buy one when I first test ride it and heard the unique sound. Only con for me was wind screen, I replaced it with a Kappa Air-Flow ; riding the perfect bike since then.

    I ride a Tiger 955i with the same problems you described and I am surprised that Triumph didn't fix this with the new models. I am 1,85+ too and the riding position was not good at all. I modified the seat 3cm higher and harder foam, raised the handlebar and this is really good for me now. For the crappy windshield I am still looking for a solution, 10cm higher and the noise and buffering was even worse and started at 80kph instead of 120. Best solution until now ist the low race shield.
    Anyway, a great, practical and honest review of a nice bike. Thank you for your work and i will follow your channel. Absolutely worth it. Best regards from Saarland from another "not native english speaker".

    The easiest way to fix your issues with an XRt is to get an XCa. We all have to customize any bike we get to one degree or another. I put Rox Risers on to correct the standing issue. I put a Givi sceen on to fix the wind at highway speeds. The engine noise is annoying at best I will agree. I put a LeoVince pipe on to cover the sound a bit and lower the weight. The engine is simply perfect otherwise. I have gone from a KLR to a XR-L to a 1200 Tiger to my 800 Tiger XCa. Simply the best overall bike I've ever owned. I have friends with all the other bikes you've reviewed...all but the guy on the KTM wishes they had mine. Keep up the good work...Cheers.

      how did you deal with cables for the grips and seats switches after installing rox risers? with two inch risers, mine seem to be half an inch too short on full lock on both sides

    I used to own a '87 BMW K75S and really liked the whine of the engine. Now, I have a '13 Triumph Tiger Roadie and really like not only the sound of this engine makes, but the power as well. So much more than my K75S. To each his own they say... This one suits me well.

    Good honest review. I bought a XCX model this fall and the engine sound is the only thing I don't like. The XCX is several inches taller than the XR models, and I had to put the seat at the low setting so I could reach the ground. After riding 1700 miles, I found the seat very comfortable, so I am surprised you did not like it. I think I will raise the handle bar 3 cm for a little better fit. Thanks, and keep up the good work.

    really enjoy your videos. ive owned an xrt for two years now and done 24k miles. totally agree the screen is crap. replaced mine with one from a tiger 1200, fitted bigger pegs and bar risers so the ergomonics are now perfect for me. my only complaint are the front forks. utter shit so thats a job for the future. . if we all liked the same bike then it would be a very boring world. keep up the good work pavlin

  • @tricycle1814
    @tricycle1814 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Triple engines don't have the best sound when you pull the gas at a stop, but it gets crazy good when you start pushing it to higher revs while riding. It has a very specific sporty roar that's deeper than a 4 cylinder but lighter than a twin.

    Re the sound: Aside from changing the stock exhaust, I'd suggest opening it up more, it seemed you never took it over 6k on the ride. Above 6k it sounds very different and so much better. The bike really comes alive between 7-9k.

    I have a 2011 Tiger the best bike I have ever had ! 100% reliable, the engine is great , very flexible, the reason it has the slight while is it has balance shafts to eliminate vibration, try a Ducati or BMW and you will see it is so great not to have the bad vibes.

    Good test, as always. But you should test the xCx or xCa version. In xRt the R stands for road and in the xCx version the C stands for country. So i think that it's more what you expect of an adventure bike. it has a bigger frontwheel and becaus of that another, higher sitting position. ... and many other improvements also for traveling in the wilderness. ;-)

    • @motorcycleadventures
      @motorcycleadventures  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Next time you go for XCA, this is made for adventure riding (I know you figured this out by your own 😁).
    Also go for the 2018 Model, they have done 200 modification‘s to meet „your“ needs ✅.
    The bike became „Alpenmaster 2018“. The only missing thing is „DCT“ from Honda 😂😂😂. Fuel consumption is around 4 Liter if you are not speeding, same like GS800, that means you can cover distances up to 500 km with eas.
    I don’t agree with your opinion about the brakes, they are absolutely weak for a bike that can go that fast (even in the XCA 2018 version)
    If you want to compare it with your wife, I agree, it is absolutely reliable, always there to serve you 🍀, and you will find it around the world, same like GS or Africa Twin, since this layout came up they sold a bike every hour, even on weekends and holidays 💫
    But as you recommend all the time, weight always meters, and there are much lighter options like CCM and many others, but consider, most of them are less reliable and don’t have „cruise control“ which can relax your body on long riding day’s and also can save you a lot of money because of not speeding accidentally 😇
    ( it is also available in India 😂)

      I don't like the Triumphs. No matter how great they are, I just don't like it. I prefer simple and useful things.

  • @teneretraveller8980
    @teneretraveller8980 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Interesting review. I think engine noise is like listening to music - a personnel thing. There is something for everyone. No right or wrong answers, just choice. Like wife?
    The smaller dimensions would suit me too but again we are all different.
    For a road tour I like this bike although with panniers it looks very wide.
    Globe busters now use this bike instead of BMW so I guess it must be good but for me too much electronics again for when things get dirty and tough.
    One or two cylinders in a simple format for me please.
    Happy travels

    Those mufflers should be lower for a touring bike like on the NC . I find a lot of triumph bikes have whiney engines.. Also I ride in weather down to minus 8 ..a heated seat would be the last area I would need warming ! Good honest review thankyou..

      There is no change at all with different mufflers. The whistling will stay! It doesent matter what exhaust you use. This f... noise killed my nerves! I tried it. The thing is, once it anoyed you it will always do so! Even it has moved a little bit to the background!

    I know this is an older video. But just imagine that noise after 10.000 km...awful. This can really demotivate. And something like that is dangerous IMO. It felt like a fake adventure bike for posers and my gut feeling said no. I then tried the Bmw f800GSA 2014 and fell in love straight away. • @larryvanputten4048

    What a hassle about the sound... In the first place it's a matter of taste; it doesn't annoy me at all. In the second place; if you rev'it up above 3500-4000 rpm the whistle disappears and changes into a beautiful and agressive howl! In the third place: I have severe tinnitus myself which causes a permanent beep in my ears. Now some people with tinnitus get depressed or suicidal because of this sound. Me not at all! It's just a matter of not paying attention too much and think of something else. Just accept it and it's no problem :-).
