My dad is a complete audiophile, he spent 10’s of thousands of dollars on a home theater system back in the early 90’s yanni has always been his favorite. Here I am 32 years old going back to it, enjoying my early childhood once again

I first heard this concert in 1993, and I still listen to it via DVDs I have at home (I'm 81). I have few favorites that have lasted over the years, in addition to Yanni, I also love the music of Enya, Diane Arkenstone, Andre Rieu, and Marshall Styler. I also love classical music, of which I consider Yanni's work (classic). Tremendous music from a tremendous person.
In 2024, Anyone is still listening to this timeless masterpiece of our beloved Musical Genius Maestro Yanni ??? Long Live Maestro Yanni and his band members.. Rest in Peace Vann Johnson and Ramon Stagnaro.. 🙏🌹✨
I was fortunate to see this concert live in Seattle, Wa. in May 1997. I have seen Yanni 5 times, but for me, the Live at the Acropolis concert is my favorite. I have the original release CD, which is in pristine condition and a mainstay of music in my car, Also have the DVD of this concert, which takes me back to how joyful it was to this this concert live.
I had my late father who was a rustic hard working man and knew nothing beyond his farm and family. Once he watched Live at the Acropolis with us back in the nineties and he reflected about Santorini as 'this is true music'.!!
I will never forget the moment I saw this stage live as a child. It was one of the best moments of my life I still remember that feeling when I watch this video. Even now, my heart still throbs.
Yanni is the artist that is needed in the world right now. His compositions are perfect and the essence of his music always inspires to be better. Santorini, Standing in Motion, Marching Season or Aria are a great example of everything that is right in this life. Greetings from Ecuador.
This entire concert is some of the earliest memories I have. His music gives me feelings and nostalgia that can't be explained, and that is why both he and music period is such a gift to us all.
One of the greatest composers in human history. That too completely self taught. That too on an instrument where his pieces are studied for their left hand complexities and unique key changes. If only I could tell you Yanni how much impact you have had over humanity through your music.. 🙏🏾
This is the beauty of music. So many artists with different nationalities making such a great artwotk, to remind us we are all humans and we can do great when together. The similar interesting fact is that the conductor of this fascinating orchestra is Shahrdad Rohani, an Iranian music legend. Another reminder to the world not to judge nationalities based on the political issues on the news. Iranians have art and mucis in theirs genes, Persia is land of culture, art, poetry and love. I hope the recent news about Iranian people have awaken the world about this truth. Peace ❤️
I first heard Yanni's music when I was 14, and it was stunning. My first CD was a Yanni album. I watched this concert on PBS.... Now my sons are teenagers, and they also love Yanni. Especially the one who is most strongly affected by music. ❤
This is where it all began my dear Yanni. 💓 When those first, stunning notes of Santorini pierced the night sky, it heralded of great things to come for you and our world! You and your beautiful music soared in this historical moment as you lived the night of your dreams! 💓 This concert is one for the ages that will forever touch my heart... yours most of all; a timeless beauty that's as eternal as the day you performed it... as eternal as you my friend! I can't wait to relive the magic tomorrow... always with you! Thank you for this beautiful Tuesday series. Sending love and more ~ 💓💙💓🦅🌹
I. am. here. for. it. Fell in love w/ Yanni's music back in the 90s. It was especially moving to listen to whilst visiting Sedona, Arizona. Absolute magic. ❤
My late father loved Yanni's works. When I was 6 years old, sitting in the front passenger seat of the car, I heard Yanni's pieces 'Santorini' and 'Within Attraction.' At that time, my father used cassette tapes because he couldn't buy official Yanni CDs. My father was an artist, skilled in painting oil paintings and sculpting, and he also had long hair. Music and art are interconnected, and perhaps my father was particularly drawn to Yanni's style and temperament. Even to this day, when I listen to Yanni's works, it feels as though my father is still alive-it has become a spiritual connection for me.
First listened to parts of this concert in the year 2000. Since then, Yanni never failed to amaze me. In 2014, my wife and me were blessed to experience him live in concert.
“Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul.”

To take a line from a song “the first time ever I saw your face” and heard your beautiful stories that touched my soul, music that I felt more deeply than all the rest and still do to this day. You create beauty and share love and care- a universal undertaking for your heart dear Yanni, but one that is received in gratitude and as much love returned to you. Till now, I still think "Santorini", "Until the Last Moment", and "Swept Away" have been the most successful in The Acropolis among all the concerts. And it is pretty to advocate for people to live peacefully through music. Thank you so much. Always inspiring.
That part at 4:48 is awesome. Kind of oriental sounding, maybe? I wish Yanni still added that part in later versions but as far as I know he never has.
When I was racing formula 1600 i would hear this song loud and rich while driving the lines....the music resonating and vibrating within my heart, combined with the engine....a pure man and machine experience that will leave me young even when I grow old.
I like how Yanni touch the sound of the music with his hands, and how he lets the music go through him. His smile shows how much he enjoys the symphony. This is a masterpiece. Thank you Yanni for this!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I can still remember seeing this concert for the first time after Bob Ross, and have been inspired by all your music ever since. My wife and I have seen you in concert 6 times, including the intimate one. God bless you Yanni.
I have no idea how anyone can listen to this masterpiece and think that Yanni's music is boring
Because they doesn’t know what is the real music for the soul.
The build up Magic has never been duplicated. This was a once in a Lifetime performance.
Beautiful invitation dear Yanni, Santorini is another of your great compositions that I have in my heart and how not to accept this magnificent invitation. Live At The Acropolis is The Concert, it is emblematic and it is the concert with which I began to listen to your wonderful music in 1993 and that makes me dream of being there ... there are no words to express everything we feel for you and your music
what was he like?
The middle is simply stunning...is like a soundtrack full of beauty and sensibility
Mr. Yanni. you are real nyani of western classical.. I love you
This has been one of my very favorites since the 80's and I've worn out tapes and CD's with as often as I've played them! This is pure spiritual music to me! Sets me free!
My childhood crush...my Greek God of Music..my Maestro Yanniiiii...
I can never get enough of listening to that wonderful piece of music
The intro described perfectly the sunrise moment and the ending is the sunset moment!
This is how a Masterpiece sounds like.
