You captured all the main trails perfectly. I go on Aliso Wood Canyon regularly but mainly do Mathis or Westridge up to the Top of the world. Great video, Thanks
NIce! Luv yer vids and really like the Laguna area,,the wide open sky and brightness, so different from where I ride (south coast BC) where it's all in forest, often very wet and generally gruelling, up + down (which is good too)
Very cool to see a lengthy XC oriented ride rather than the typical GNAR, GNAR, GNAR usually associated with Aliso/Laguna. Meadows looked pretty well-groomed. I wonder if Mentally Sensitive is about the same?
Great video and thank you for sharing. I have taken my 10 year old twins up Cholla and they refuse to go back. We always ride the trails around there though (they enjoy the hunt for snakes, tarantulas, and deer). Will be heading down to Dana Point this weekend for Labor Day and I have a question for you. What other trails would you recommend we hit? We are all on analog bikes and my boys just got new Trek Marlins last week after Ciclavia. With my recent health scare, I am trying to bring my boys outdoors with me everywhere we go.
@@TheOutsiderMTB Thank you! I just got them some Trek Marlins for the kids so I'm hoping they will be a little more charged to try a new ride this weekend. Will check out your Santiago Oaks vids as well.
Hey Tony, question cuz I’m always worried about this, but do you ever get hassled for riding an Ebike in Laguna trails? I see the “No e-bikes” signs all over, and see you’re riding one in this vid there. Any troubles?
@@TheOutsiderMTBmakes sense, and that’s good to know. I always feel like I’m trying to fly under the radar and that I’m one Karen away from getting in trouble haha. Thanks Tony, I’m going to give this loop a try 🤘
Have you ever had any issues with park rangers/police riding laguna or aliso? I have heard stories of people getting stopped and their E-bikes (pedal assist) confiscated.
I've never seen anyone get stopped in Aliso Woods park for their ebikes. But also, don't be that jerk that rides their ebike in places where you're not supposed to.
Another pretty awesome video! And thanks for the tips about the inexpensive rug and the info about the Diamondback rattlesnakes! Question: Have you ever encountered dangerous wildlife in the middle of the trail, like snakes, mountain lions, or bears, as you were barreling down a trail? That's my wife's biggest fear when I ride here in the Southwest desert. She says if I get eaten, she's gonna put "Husband, Father, and Lunch" on my tombstone! 😂
Thanks - I consider both REAL mtb bikes. The emtb is built to even handle tougher terrain than my trail bike. I like the E now making videos cuz it’s easier for me to chat things up.
@@TheOutsiderMTB I respect that. Personally I don’t think there Real Mountain Bikes. But to each is own. Nothing against you brother. I tell that everyone on E bikes..lol..But Regarding making videos I can see how that would help. Otherwise on rougher terrain I would say just get an Enduro bike. Then again my friend does all the same trails on a aggressive hardtail (Roscoe 9). Anyway keep up the good content man💪

Appreciate that!
Classic Tony commentary! I love it❤️

Oh man BC is the best!
Back in the saddle !
Tony good to hear from you! I also love Laguna! I rode Crystal Cove side most recently, BVD was actually in decent shape.
Thanks - good to know!
That top section of BVD is rutted like a MF and has been for a good 2 years now.
Love the commentary great vid
👍

Good call - they don't all have to be GNAR rides right? I appreciate them all. Mentally sensitive should be about the same condition.

I'd suggest checking out Santiago Oaks, but it gets hot there in the summer time. I have plenty of videos from there, as well.

You were on a siccc one🤙🏻
👍
Crack is whack 😂 great video man, made me realize how long it’s been since I’ve hit rock it. Love that trail 🤙🏽
Get it!

Eh it’s a grey area. I’ve never even been stopped. Most people just ride regardless.
@@TheOutsiderMTBmakes sense, and that’s good to know. I always feel like I’m trying to fly under the radar and that I’m one Karen away from getting in trouble haha. Thanks Tony, I’m going to give this loop a try 🤘
I cursed your name the first time I went up stair steps.
Haha my ears were ringing.
Right. Even top level climbers using an ebike would be challenged on that brutally steep technical monstrosity!
Have you ever had any issues with park rangers/police riding laguna or aliso? I have heard stories of people getting stopped and their E-bikes (pedal assist) confiscated.
there are no ebikes getting confiscated lol ticket maybe
Nope I've never had an issue.
I heard they tase you, strip search you, say bad things about your ancestry and then they confiscate your e-bike.

E bikes have throttles. Peddle assist bikes are good everywhere

Haha thanks! I have seen and come across plenty of rattlers. The thing is they are just as scared of us.
What did you do with your copilot?
Watcha mean?
