    Wow! Another Profi Job done.
I wonder if you can give me a hint/ advise related to my Nakamichi ZX-7, doing click noise at the right spidle?

Interesting video. My BX-300 has developed 1 or 2dB channel imbalance when recording recently. It looks like you had a similar issue at the 17 minute mark. I was thinking it was a tape path/transport issue but it looks like there are some pots you are adjusting for this?

12:31 What do you think the actual issue was? I have the same “won’t fully engage” issue on one of my BX-300s and I have disassembled, cleaned, lubricated and reassembled that cam system and motor many times with no change. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions. Thanks for making these videos, you document some very interesting disassembly and repairs!

The system is simple. There is a breaks lever and a pin to pull the head's carriage up. When the command gear rotates it should pull both up. However, in some cases, it won't. I tried to change the point when the switch will engage - it did not help, so, I bent it back. I put all my attention on the assembly routine. Checked that all parts sit tight in their places. Lubricated the pin to let it move freely. And it did the job. I believe the problem was that the frame supporting this command gear was not sitting in place.

Nakamichi: bad caps, lots of crap bad quality plastic parts, bad design decisions. What's the hype about?
