- Mikheil Kavelashvili has been sworn in as President of Georgia on Sunday, despite allegations that the election was fraudulent. Kavelashvili is allied with the far-right Georgian Dream Party, which has close ties to Russia. Thousands of people gathered in the capital Tblisi to protest the inaguration. Georgia has seen months of political turmoil over plans by the Georgian Dream party to suspend membership talks with the EU. Georgia's main opposition groups say they don't recognize Kavelashvili as president. Georgias outgoing president has not formally conceded her office. What grounds does she have to challenge her successor's legitimacy? And how will this crisis over the contested presidency play out?

Then there are others who think any concessions to avoid a war you can't win are worth it, especially when you know the other side can and will use force to get what they want.
