In this video, I'll show you how to fix Jingle the dog after he's stopped working. It's an easy fix if you've got a soldering iron and a little patience.

Im so pleased we found your instructions, after spending the morning with a class of five year olds, Jingle came home looking unhappy and not talking! checked everything, sadly he didnt want to chat...... So the husband is currently checking his little button. Thanks for posting :D

Thank you, I've had this issue both with Jingle and with another Hallmark dog and both are very dear to my daughter, so I was hoping it was the switch and not the voicey bit itself!
Thank you! I checked ours -- which was just purchased last Christmas and carefully packed away, but now refuses to work -- I found 1 of the 2 wires is broken, so we will be soldering it tomorrow and hopefully that will do the trick.

Ours worked great at the time it was packed away, after using jingle with our son a couple years. Then it mysteriously stopped working when we pulled it out for our youngest daughter. Sure enough, one of the wires came loose at the button in the ear. Some minor doc mcstuffins surgery with some Re-soldering, jingles back to being jingle.

I wish I knew where to find a solution. I picked one of these up at a garage sale and with fresh batteries, he definitely turns on & off, and will whimper when we say "gotta go home," but he won't respond to ANY other dialogue. We can't get him to bark, sing, nothing.
Where would I be able to find a new switch? I’m trying to repair a hallmark jingle pal…:)
Anyone figured out the issue where jingles will turn on and off but will not respond to any of the red letter statement/commands? Brand new jingles
Did it still turn on? Say to pull a tab out of The tray for the battery?? Even though it’s been used for a few years?

Were you able to get things going? By "solder," I mean the metal that melts at a relatively low heat. It bonds with the wires and conducts electricity well.

Our Jingle turns on, but won't bark. Is that the issue that you were having as well?

the story buddy in this video did not turn on and off. I have the same problem as you but mine is a scooby doo. He turns on off but does not respond to story. I followed my wires through the body of the toy and found a device in his nose that had a wire detached this must be what picks up the readers voice. This needs to be sauldered like how they sauldered the on off switch in the video
