    Do you know how the EEI exam is scored? I’ve seen the scores for tests but have no idea how they score them, any ideas?

    • @JobtestprepUk
      @JobtestprepUk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are several different EEI tests, and while the scoring is somewhat different, there are some basic rules that are maintained across all tests. (Please note that EEI does not provide any official information, and the following is a deduction of information presented in score reports, brochures, etc.)
      The score to determine your qualification is the final score - although section scores are calculated, they do not determine your level of ability.
      Generally speaking, a passing score is usually 80%. However, the EEI test score range is defined as 1-9, so it’s not exactly 80%. A score of 7-8 is probably a good place to be.
      However, I would recommend refraining from having a score too low on any section - especially on the mechanical concepts section (if included in your particular EEI test), as it is usually considered one of the best predictors of success on technical positions, and is often the largest section on the test.
      I hope this helps.

    Does this help with applied technology ?

    • @JobtestprepUk
      @JobtestprepUk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are referring to ACT's Applied Technology test, the answer is partly yes. Generally speaking, question levels 3-4 on the test cover basic mechanical aptitude topics, as presented in the video. However, level 5-6 questions require a deeper understanding of practical terms that are not included in mechanical aptitude. To see the difference between question levels, you can check out ACT's website:
      www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/workkeys-for-workforce-developers/assessments/preparation/applied-technology.html?page=0&chapter=2

    Nothing , nothing, will reach bottom at the same time. Only in theory, not in practice. These instituations.. I'm sorry, institutions, won't last.

    • @JobtestprepUk
      @JobtestprepUk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It is true that in the real world, factors like air resistance and others have a (very negligible) effect, so there will be a slight difference in the time it will take both objects to reach the floor. However, in mechanical aptitude tests these are never taken into consideration, so you should disregard them when answering, too.

      @@JobtestprepUk I agree, but if your going to give a test trying to apply this test to see how people would react in real world situations, then at least respect the test taker for pointing that out, but I get where you are coming from. I checked out your site and god know it is very good. The best part is that you give GOOD explanations on all questions. Pricey but worth it if you land the job.

    I hate all these stupid questions!
    They have nothing to do with what maintenance people deal with every day.
    How about questions like.. you have a motor and a gearbox, the motor is spinning, but the gearbox is not.
    What could be the problem?
    The key is missing..!
    Or hey, the motor keeps tripping out, what would you do to diagnose the problem?
    First I would remove the fan cover and try to spin it manually.
    If that doesn’t work,
    I would separate the motor from the gearbox.
    I would most likely find that the gearbox is seized, preventing the motor from spinning!
    Shit like that is what Real every day mechanics deal with.
    Not whether 2 balls fall at the same speed!
    I never was called to repair something and said wait.. let me drop these two balls 🏈⚽️
