Ya know what, after listening to these clips, it's come to this...ALL are great! I'll listen to each version intil the day I die. LG, no matter what or where she sang, was great. I know, I saw her some years ago at the "Sun", and she brought it down. Can't bring it back....miss her...
Wow. What a neat view on the two pieces. If you've got an ear for this stuff, it's amazing to listen to both background vocals and notice the difference all in one song. Thanks for taking the time to do this!
Well done sir! I loved the music this lady sang, & was so sad to learn of her passing. I saw her at the TAMI Show & will always remember how tiny she seemed --tiny & so nervous until the director said "Roll! " --then she smiled, & sang " Maybe I know" . Lesley was pretty, classy, & what a voice ! RIP, Lesley Ann Goldstein --Gore. Wolfsky9
You saw her at the TAMI Show? That show was incredible. I mentioned the TAMI show to Miss Gore when I first met her and she responded with such hostility that she actually scared me and I immediately backed away. .
Sir------------thank-you so much for this .---------My favorite song by Lesley, i so remember it . In Denver, it broke on 950AM, KIMN, around Thanksgiving of '64.-----------Lesley & I are the same age, so she was 18 y/o at the time. --------------------MJL, 75 y/o
Thanks! These are great versions. I like to turn the left speaker off on "She's A Fool" and get rid of the background vocals altogether for a more mature sound!
OK, now I know why I can't tell the difference...because, I heard this song so many times, that I;ve filled the gaps in my "music brain", that the voids were placed there. 66 is a fun age. Can't wait till i'm 70.....AAAAAAAAHHHHHGGGG!!!!
It was a Hit but it should have charted Higher than it did, I found the original 45rpm single to be too 'busy' and I think they should have used the simplier, LP version - I know it charted for Lesley but it should have gone higher -

The 2nd version is by far the best!

Very nice
Nice mix!
Holy cow! This sounds as complicated as the mixes done by "mosogotam".....
Isso soou triste
I like the first version the best. The background vocals appear to be a bit overpowering and we can do without the sleigh bells.
I can't tell the difference.
