Sunil Bahi excellent review, I am user of Suzuki Alto I bought this car zero meter in 2007 and still using this car, I think this was the best and durable in its league parts were no doubt little bit expansive but very much reliable as compared to other cars and specially it has the best suspension in its class. Now 157000 km on meter still using it as a 2nd car.

Yet another excellent review, spot on. My experience with Suzuki cars when I used to be in Pakistan was different i.e. no problems at all if you maintained the car well, didn't by-pass everything. You always need a good mechanic who understands the car and respects the knowledge of the manufacturer and its recommendations. I was lucky enough to work on my cars myself and keep them in factory specified condition by relying on the service manuals.

As always excellent review. Pak wheels is doing great job, that used car inspection service seems excellent for buyers who do not have much idea about cars in depth. I like it and off course if under Pak wheels umbrella that means it is as par.

Im using 2008 model and its fuel consumption in petrol is horrible, but with CNG in city it runs 150 km with AC with 1 tank and 240 to 250 km on highway.

Good review I have this car since 2012 Can I change its engine with a better engine?
In general it is very good review and comparison.. but solution suggested for it week points.
For example, replacement of corborater system or swap of complete engine. Can it's engine be replaced with version engines of 660cc.
Best ac best suspension and 0 to 60 is amazing i have vitz but i still miss this car alto was a legend no doubt

CNG is widely available in Lahore. Ive been driving Altto on CNG since 2012 150kms in a full cylinder in city what more can you ask

This guy gave great review but he miss one very very important point, which is the biggest draw back of this alto vxr that is its congested engine space. Whenever i had taken this car to any mechanic, all have one complain that is is very difficult to do the engine work , like if you have any AC issue, you have to bring out the whole engine. Moreover its HISA is very fragile as compare to Curore.... All mechanics favourite car was courore. . I used this car for 4 year , Alto vxr 2006 model.

Suzuki Alto had a 5500 RPM single CAM engine as compared to Cultus which had 8000 RPM EFI engine. My Alto could only do 105 km/h top speed on the freeway although the speedometer shows up to 180 km/h. Seats and suspension of Alto are a real pain during intercity travelling. Overall a beautiful looking car which is mechanically a piece of crap. I bought it brand new in 2009. The engine oil sump was leaking from new without any reason and the concerned Suzuki dealership failed to fix it. The left inner and outer CV joints both kept on wearing out despite my careful driving in Islamabad. Both engine sump leak and CV joints problems were resolved privately. Serious tune up issues, for example, cold starting problem, unstable idling and bad pick up also cleared privately. Even after a good private tune-up, pick-up with airconditioning is disgusting on petrol and CNG both.
No offence, but I think you had a bad experience. you better see a good mechanic.
I bought one in 2007 , there wasn't a problem except the fuel consumption issue. Beautiful car, comfortable drive, good A/C top speed 140 to 145 for sure.

@@muhammadhuzaifaimran3735 I've sold the car now but if you want to achieve good fuel average/power and good A/C you can change your spark plugs , carburetor adjustment,(145/55/15 tires size) and proper oil, wheel balancing/alignment,cold air intake,freeflow exhaust system with proper manifold and light weight rims, and high octane fuel

Not really.
I have driven both Daihatsu Cuore and Suzuki Alto (registered 2008 and 2007, respectively) and here's my take over both cars.
Cuore looks more outdated than Alto due to the fact it was produced between 1994-1998 (internationally) while the mentioned generation of Alto is a product of early 2000s. Alto has a positive side of having a resale value but being an end-user it's not too useful.
Daihatsu Cuore on the other hand is much more reliable and durable. Performance-wise, despite having a smaller engine, is superior than Alto. Having a 970cc engine on a Kei car is not a bright idea, since the power-to-size ratio is absurd. Now about driving experience, Cuore has had an upper hand. The drive feels more premium and smoother, and the material quality is much better. Despite having smaller dimensions than Mehran, it has bigger room than Alto - and fuel economy is more despite increased performance. Besides, that car doesn't make you visit frequent trips to a mechanic, compared to Alto.

I own Alto 2009 Model registered in October and I am very much satisfied with its performance except one mistake which I made myself. I changed original tyre size with 165mm tyres instead of 145. I also changed original rims with alloy one and since then I am feeling two changes, the car seems a bit heavier, second millage has dropped around 2.5 to 3 km per liter. Previously it gave me 19 - 20 km /liter without ac and 13-14 km/liter within city but now it is around 16-17 km/liter on highway and 10-11 km within city without ac. With ac it gives around 30 percent less economy. The only benefit of changing rim and tyres is it height and now I never feel any road humps issue and it looks beautiful than before.

But want to clarify one thing that availablity of cng is not an issue now atleast in punjab it is available 24/7.

I'm also having this car right now and I've super maintained this car therefore, this car never gives me trouble. The only issue i face is Fuel economy in this car which is like 9-10 Km/Liter on petrol but, sometimes i run this on CNG on which this car maybe out performs other similar cars running on CNG. Gives 130-140 Km mileage with AC on a full company fitted cylinder. AC is best in class even better than Cultus! I've loaded 6 Adults + 2 kids passengers; still it's engine performs very good power.

@@dr.ahsanbukhari1792 Hi, I have sold mine ages ago. Never ever try to take this car in northern areas. Only new cars 3-4 years old at max if property maintained are good to use for northern areas. You need alot of power and good engine cooling.
I wanted to ask that i am planning to buy either an Alto VXR or a Cultus VXR 2000+ model. Plz advise im terms of operating costs, maintenance costs, fuel efficiency, durability and handling, as to which i shud buy...
Other options include a Hyundai Santro, a Chevrolet Joy and a Suzuki Margalla. Which one to buy?
