I always enjoy your instructions on how to make projects. Your unhurried and detailed descriptions are so helpful. Thankyou from Chris Miller in Western Australia.
I'm so glad that I finished watching your video . . . your final card is stunning and you are right, the embossing under the colored die-cut is amazing. Just beautiful, thank you for sharing your video!
Shelly, Love your enthusiasm. Glad you showed side by side the embossed and die cut and just the die cut, WoW what a difference. I like tone on tone vs the colored one. Again I am glad you showed both. TFS
At 7:49 you add a white impression pad. I do not have that. Is it the same thickness as a cutting plate? I love the idea of putting a die cut on top of the embossed image!
Hi Shelly, I live in Toronto and have a very old big shot, like yours but it came with a multi purpose platform. I looked at the stampin up site for big shot embossing plates and didn’t see them. I have a grey plastic plate with a number 4 on it and I have a grey silicone square mat I use for gluing. So for my sandwich I used: the multipurpose platform all folded together, a cutting plate, my die and card stock(cutting side up) and the silicone mat, then I tried using the plate with the 4 on it, but it was too thick, so I used 3 magnet sheets that some of my thinlits dies have come on. It worked okay, but you can see the outline edge of the die on the card. Can you suggest another way?
Hi! The embossing plates were discontinued many years ago, even before we quit carrying the Big Shot. Sorry, I didn't keep any of the Sizzix products to play around to offer any advice.
Hi! I'd love to have you join my team! Is it the link to join Stampin' Up! with me or my Stamping Smiles blog that isn't' coming up for you? You're most welcome to call me at 702-513-9997 to have me walk you through it.
When I emboss my card is cracking and I use my standard platform, cutting plate, butterfly die, card that came with big shot, silicone rubber and impression pad and it cracks on me it does not look good.finding it frustrating how it is going wrong for me. Not having look with embossing folder. I used the standard platform, cutting plate, embossing folder with card in it one piece, cutting plate its too thick so I take bottom cutting plate away and it's too loose then so I tried 4 card as a shim and still too loose I used cheap card thou. So the embossing is not working for me. Any ideas how I can sort my problem

Thank you! The ability to use our Thinlits to emboss is great, but oh, it got so much better with my stepped-up version!
Like that extra touch of pink it adds so much!
Thank you!
I loved seeing the cut out over the embossed image! Thank you for sharing this idea with us!
Thank you! My pleasure.

Beautiful card...I have this set and you have inspired me to get it out and make this card.
Thank you!
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing tutorial
You are so welcome!
It would be so pretty to ink the raised areas of the embossed one before layering it with the die cut.
Beautiful card. Thanks so much for sharing how to use the embossing mats.
Thank you! My pleasure.

The material of the impression pad is different than the cutting pad. I expect that makes a difference.
I do not see the white impression pad in the links above. Do you have a link to purchase that?
It's included with the Big Shot Embossing Mats. Here's the link bit.ly/2MaRlak
Awesome Shelly!!!! Beautiful! Great video.

Very pretty card!
Thanks so much!
Really like the pink layer
Thank you. I was torn.

Just discovered your video and so very informative. Will need to purchase the thin embossing matt.

Beautiful cards!
Thank you!
what if you used the "thicker" gray silicone mat? I love putting the cut-out over the embossed design.
Sorry, I don't know. I followed the directions so not to do any harm.
pretty card! thanks for sharing the great tips!
Thank you! My pleasure.
Thank you so much for this great demonstration!
You're welcome!
I love your card. I'm going to make one just like yours.
Thank you! That's quite the compliment. :)
To find the end of your washi tape easily, lay a small paper clip on the sticky side at the edge - easy to lift off and use it over and over
Great idea! Thank you for sharing it with me!
where do you purchase the blue fabric sheet. I am in Canada
It's part of the Embossing Mats. You'll need to find a Canadian Demonstrator to order from.
Love your videos :) I always learn something when I watch your videos. Thank you! BTW, I like the pink color as the base for this card.
Thank you! Petal Pink is sure pretty for the base.
Either one of the background card colors will work, depending on the mood of your saying.

The cheap cardstock is most likely the problem. The Whisper White Cardstock is excellent.
Lovely, thanks for sharing
Thank you! My pleasure.
Beautiful
Thank you!
What would happen if you used the gray mat
Sorry, I don't know. I followed the instructions and got great results.
Shelly - lovely cards . Great tips- Thank you for sharing the video with us.
