- TENSE moment Ukrainian snipers fire at Russian soldiers on urban battlefield in Bakhmut.
Ukrainian snipers are seen in the video as they engage in street fighting with Russian forces.
The heaviest fighting has taken place in Bakhmut and Soledar in the Donetsk region during the country’s ongoing war with Russia, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video message in early Nov.
The war, which Moscow describes as a “special military operation,” has entered its ninth month.
Some 7.89 million have fled the country, mostly women and children, and 6.5 million people are internally displaced.

One thing i learned in the army is, never ever ever get close to the window you are shooting from, never ever ever let the barrel of your rifle stick out of the window so everyone can see it and always shoot from the depth of the room!
Doesn't really matter for a shoot and scoot. When you're setting up for recon or going to be stationary for several hours is when that matters
I was just thinking that. Sun glare can reflect under certain circumstances, sunlight can enhance the sight picture for anyone who can take a shot back, plus of course all you said. If possible I would set up a large table to lay on or have at least some stable setup at least 5 ft inside the room if possible.

This type (amongst many sniper tactics) of quick-sniper-fix, you need to be adaptable, have good intel, have fast legs and intelligence. Did you notice how this welltrained duo fighting unit avoided the trash on the floor as best they could? The enemy answer will this time probably be heavier weapons. I was concerned that he's shooting from right at the window, as that makes him a huge target for return fire or even counter snipers. But then he's only taking one shot and relocating, so it's probably relatively safe to do that as long as he's not repeating it too often. Otherwise if he needs to shoot from there more permanently it would be safer to actually set up on a table in the corridor, and make a small hole in the interior wall to shoot out the window from.

I'm wondering if this was just for the cameras. It appears to go against what I've seen most snipers doing, namely being well back ion the dimmed room and as concealed as possible.
this is different battlezone, in irag yes, in urban combat its very very different story. Scout, get perfect shot positsion and shoot for one shot kill and exctract positsion as fast as possible because they will backfire 100%
Same thoughts here. In my opinion there were feeble attempts at concealment or stealth. I suppose this style could reflect the current type of warfare though.

This “ sniper “ is working in complete daylight. There are making too much noise . The barrel of his rifle is protruding out of the window frame - that’s called a target identifier. He has no spotter next to him to call he shot or observe the area while the “ sniper “ is in position.

tip for any potential Ukraine shooters that might see this: don't post up right at the window. move back into the room so you can conceal your position better. hanging out near the window/sticking your barrel out the window does nothing but give away your position when shooting.

1.Spotter talks on the radio and not the shooter.
2. Don't stick your gun barrel out of the window, stay inside the room.
3. Watch where the bullet hits to verify your DOPE or hold over/wind drift dials

4. Get a Spotter with a good scope

My Grandfather made it from Normandy Beach Day2 to Germany in WW2 and he would give advise to never show how well you can shoot to a range officer or you will be made a sniper. Should you end up in battle splinter off and shoot to your full skill set.
And if Russia tries to attack in this building it will be counted as terrorist attack on RESIDENTIAL building. lol..

You don’t fire from the window frames because any joker with an MG can spot you and put effective fire on your position before you take a shot, you set up a shooting position back in the room quite a bit away from the window shooting from a table or something else or if there’s small holes in the walls from shelling then shoot through those while on the ground

as an Airborne Infantry vet with many years of training, (im out 35 years and still shoot) I can tell you that this guy shot in the air! This is most likely a propaganda video. Look at the angle of the barrel before he shoots and just when he pulls the trigger. there were no enemy targets, so he fired in the air so as not to harm civilians. and there are no tall apartment buildings, its clearly a rural area.. i call this BS

stay far back from the windows when you shoot. Sticking your muzzle out of the window makes it so they can see you plus you are exposed and make yourself a target. You should be as far back in the room as possible or even make a hole in the wall and you could be in the room behind that room. Also if you can work in teams, and fire at the same time from different buildings then it makes it more difficult to determine location and if you’re firing at the same target like an officer or another sniper then it increases the probability of a hit with more than one person shooting.

It hides the flash and makes the sound less. Also I makes it harder for counter snipers to find you before you even fire .

If he’s not repeating the same tactic over and over against the same element then what he’s doing is one of the worst things that can happen for you being on the receiving end, hard to locate or pin point a precise location of where indirect is coming from, extremely lethal and a great tactic shoot and scoot.

actually that was a very bad position to fire, especially when his barrel is protruding beyond the window frame. counter snipers would kill him if he keeps that up. being prone on a table from 10 feet back severely reduces angle of counter attack, and angle of being visually spotted.
