The first time I lost during the final boss of Splatoon 3, I wondered if they were gonna make the ending scarier than Octo Expansion. After all, the two have similar themes with non-cephalopods wanting to change the world by coating it in weird ink. Let's just say I sat on my couch mortified watching that ending for the first time.

In my opinion, the bad ending of Splatoon 3 was the single darkest moment of gaming in 2022. Yes, even darker than Kirby. Heck, maybe even the darkest moment of entertainment of the year period. The implications… the distorted music… the laugh… it’s pure nightmare fuel, but I love it.

(If there are any, which there probably are due to no bigfin squid or Giant squid) *the cephalopods that never got to the crystals in the first place.*

Well, in the Octo Expansion, Pearl, Mariana, Cuttlefish, Agent 3 and Agent 8 would be the only survivors, even if they defeat Tartar after Inkopolis Square destruction, nothing will change, because the inkling race is gone, and in Splat3 kinda the same situation, but only Octavio, Smallfry and New Agent 3 would be the only survivors, even if they defeat Grizz, nothing will change, so basically it doesn't matter if the survivors try to stop the bad guy because the damage's already done and can't be healed....
I think the OE style works surprisingly well. It draws the player more in as the levels aren’t as linear, but are still a bit of a challenge. Although I do agree with that it felt too similar to OE, but they ran with it and made it work.
@@the_mars_bar Its definitely not a bad style at all, but I think a little bit more could have been done to make them feel a little different, a lot of the look of things made it feel very OE, so maybe if they looked a little different that'd be a bit better.

cried when i lost the final boss in octo expansion (i was 19)
So both Tartar and Mr Grizz's Goal's were similar, since they were both made by Humanity.
Grizz is actually a bear, and bears were made by nature not humans
At splatoon 3 1st I get the bad ending and then the true ending
When I first got the bad ending in splatoon 3 I got majora’s mask vibes
I guess people are always seeking revenge like how DJ Octavio lost the Great turf war and seek revenge And the splatoon 3 bad ending will be haunting me about the music and laugh just that’s nightmare fuel
I feel like they put more effort into the lore of the octo expansion, here the only thing that happened was that a bear out of nowhere got up and wanted to make everyone hairy
It was so late for me when I was fighting the finale boss in Octo Expansion that I started laughing uncontrollably at Inkopolis being destroyed
i've seen the splatoon 3 one multiple times. T-T i cant beat him i keep dying to the darn octostamps

Well, in the Octo Expansion, Pearl, Mariana, Cuttlefish, Agent 3 and Agent 8 would be the only survivors, even if they defeat Tartar after Inkopolis Square destruction, nothing will change, because the inkling race is gone, and in Splat3 kinda the same situation, but only Octavio, Smallfry and New Agent 3 would be the only survivors, even if they defeat Grizz, nothing will change, so basically it doesn't matter if the survivors try to stop the bad guy because the damage's already done and can't be healed....

Is no one talking abt Octo Expansion bad ending music beginning extremly creepy or is just me? ;-;
I enjoyed Alterna but it felt too similar to OE in my opinion, I did enjoy the hero mode style stages too, it just felt way too similar to me

I think the OE style works surprisingly well. It draws the player more in as the levels aren’t as linear, but are still a bit of a challenge. Although I do agree with that it felt too similar to OE, but they ran with it and made it work.
@@the_mars_bar Its definitely not a bad style at all, but I think a little bit more could have been done to make them feel a little different, a lot of the look of things made it feel very OE, so maybe if they looked a little different that'd be a bit better.

i love how nintendo comes up with really dark endings for games that seem innocent (i just kinda wish OE's bad ending was as dark as splatoon 3's)
