Real League champion returns to the starting town and finds one trainer he missed vibes.
If Makoto was in Pokemon his counterparts to Messiah and Thanatos would 100% be Arceus and Giratina. (And probably a ton of other Legendaries for late-game, god-level Personas.) That would be a nightmare for any trainer to battle, but considering in his own franchise he's literally a fantasy parallel to Jesus Christ, perhaps fittingly so.

Honestly you could probably have a Pokemon vs Persona game. Their styles and gameplay are similar enough. One guy switching out their Pokemon while the other switches their Personas

Part of me wants a Pokemon game to actually take heavy inspiration from persona games. Like gen 9 could've had a school and trainer half of the game and a story not as shallow as puddle with a message because with how the series is going it needs a persona 3 level game to pull it back out of the rut it's been in for the last few years
