I discovered your channel about 10 months ago. I'm 58 & bought my first synth at age 16 (Roland SH-1000) followed by a Juno 106 & JX3P. Today, I possess both modern and late 70's / 80's vintage synths. Your music, the instruments & your passion for providing great content with no pompous attitude keeps me coming back! You've also tickled my desire to finally buy a Linn Drum. Cheers! :-)

haha John - the Linn is perfect - you will love it. I am 60 and also started at 16 - first a Rhodes - than Korg Delta and Juno 60. And well than all the rest ;-)

❤ I came certainly months ago to listen your takes on Vangelis on the CS80, but today, I have a special idea. As I'm 64 years old, Tangerine, Klaus Shulze, at their beginnings, Vangelis, we were buying their music , and listening to a mastered engraved version on a 33 rpm. But, the actual technology, lets Us listening your versions, so better than what we listened at the time, and this is precious and amazing, to listen your instrument from that time, and your proper listening. I have only a Juno 6 and an SH2000, as original instruments, but I know well this difference between what we listen through technology, and what we listen at home. I have also some 33rpm origi:als from JM Jarre, Tangerine Dreams (Rubycon is still my favorite!), Moon down (from Klaus Chulze), Opera Sauvage, or other musics, my conclusion is that the player and the instrument, in a relative simplicity, matters a lot in the listening pleasure. I plays Hymn and the Orchestra under the rain on all my synths, and never the same version, I found with you how the CS80 is a so great instrument, so expressive, must be played only by creators, and you are part of this country where electronics gives life to sounds.

    Great channel, congrats.
Love how having amazing analog stuff, finally somebody put out good music with it, and not just show off them as collectible toys only.
Synths are musical instruments for expression, not just mere cool boxes with lot of colourful lights on.
    Kudos.

I will have a cs80 one day.. :) As usual great video. My favorite of yours is the EXIT cover.
It sounds so cool, and it was also the video that introduced me to EXIT. So thanks for that :D

There's a song I heard recently by Riccardo Cocciante, it's called ''Au Fond De Mon Coeur'' (it has to be the French version as it's mixed longer). Honestly, the CS-80 orchestration (all synths, no actual strings involved!) in it is jaw-dropping, take a listen to it all. It starts before 2:00 seconds.

    Nice choices!
Of course covers do better than improvisations in numbers, but nothing beats variety on the long run.
Also good titles and mentioning the gear helps viewers to find you I imagine.
    My replacing VP-330 arrived yesterday.
Would you consider singing the Jon and Vangelis song though yours?

Ah, I'm a total amateur now. But I am connected to music because I deal with servicing guitars and equipment around them. I had two Korg synths: MS20 and Polysix and some of my auxiliary devices for them. I'm talking about the mid-80s. Later I had fun with plugin synths. I can only dream of CS-80 :)) I have some my little works on my YT channel.
Yes, be sure to find Hugo. An exceptional synth player. Also, you can find some my little works on my YT channel.

Love your channel, it's so full of goodies! Although I have nowhere near the views that you have, I, too, wonder how some of my uploads get virtually no views whilst others get loads. I have to admit to being more than a little envious of your setup, especially as showcased in the last few minutes of this video - even Dr Mix was taken aback, and that's no small achievement! Keep 'em coming 🙂

@@josesvintagekeys Thanks very much, much appreciated! Yes, I have thought about filming myself but most of the demos are cobbled together from hours of noodling. Plus, I'm not out to get a large following, just like to post the demos as I make them. It's just interesting and a bit curious to see which demos attract the largest audiences 🙂

Excellent presentation and fantastic choice of music...I am doing a similar project with retro instrumentals...I only wish I could play live like you cos I rely heavily on sequencing and entering notes one by one through a 49 midi keyboard...Amazing vid ...I have to ask but do you play professionally?...Cheers Les🙂👍
