This and Scrape Away are in my Top 5 Jam songs. Where are song's like this in these troubled times, the youth of today need to get their heads out of their arses and this sham celebrity culture and do something meaningful. We need another music revolution in this country(UK) like Punk/New Wave/Mod and shake things up.
this is one of my frave songs....but I ask you where has all the tallent gone?....I mean The Jam put so much into their songs its unbeliavable and where has all that gone?....sort of sucks with the music of today :(
truly great.saw them at bingley hall stafford and bingley hall birmingham in march 82 and on the farewell tour on dec 8th 82.fond memories.of all the gigs i have been to over the years from ac to u2 the jam were number 1 to see live but i must admit pink at the ricoh arena in june 2010 came very close to knocking them off this top spot.
the problem with music these days is, its all people from x-factor, and people don't listen to songs because they like it, they listen to them because everyone else likes them, and the singers themselves only sing about their ex-girlfriends/boyfriends, im not saying that older musicians never sang about love, cause there is a crap ton of classic songs that are about girlfriends, but there was also the part of music were people had passion for their music, and wrote songs to send a message, these days they just want money, they send no message at all, and the songs are crap. I'm only 15, and i love playing guitar, so if I ever start a band, I want to be like the Jam, sending strong, angry messages through music, and tell everyone how this country is crapped up, Paul Weller has even said he doesn't write songs about politics anymore because he'd write the same crap he wrote 30 years ago, but that's another point that i didn't intend to say here, i just drifted into it XD
2nd only 2the Human League. The Jam r so good. I do my drum kit inpression sound affect impression 2 thier gr8 music on my i pod, Paul Weller is fantastic. The Butterfly Collector and That's Entertainment 1word Ace. 2 ace songs. from Paul Eyles from Portsmouth
Second only to The Human League who only made it when the girls joined in.Such an amusing comment. In the end it's all subjective. Is Phil still around today. Weller is.😉
