I'm going to try this with a white chocolate strawberry flavored coating. My dad used to love the strawberry milkshake whoppers, but I haven't seen them in years. With his birthday coming up, this could be perfect!
I've never seen strawberry whoppers, loved strawberry KitKat though! Ground freeze dried berries are great for flavoring, they won't look entirely homogenous but they look and taste special!
Amazing video. I love Maltesers most of all of the sweets. I admire you for your hard work of trying so many different methods, this is the way people come up with great inventions😉. I'd probably gave up after first try. But now I'll try to copy you🤭 Thank you so much, lots of love💗
I'm a chef and currently trying to work out a recipe for a dispensary. I'm going to take your 3rd method, making a merengue with malt powder, but instead of directly piping onto a sheet tray and baking, I'm going to first pipe it into a silicone cakepop mold, which is about 4/5 of a sphere, then freeze, then de-mold and bake. Hoping they hold their shape :P Thank you for taking the time to make the video
I tried this recipe it was soo tasty I didnt knew such less ingredients would make such a good thing I didn't had malt powder so I added almond powder it was so delicious. Thank you so much ❤❤
It's easier to crunch up the meringue in food processor or blender then add 1 cup to your regular malted milk ball recipe & they come out truer to the malteser candy 🍬
U present a more realistic actions that what most ppl do at home, if they date to try anything. Thank U for a great video. Now I know what to do& what not to do.
I have been looking for how to make these with the light crunch. thanks so much for sharing. Too bad you have to get to the very last partof the video to see how to make them correctly but mine turned out just as i like and whoppers are just not good if you're a big malt ball fan like me. Need better chocolate around it. thanks thanks thanks. great video
thank you for all your work in discovering the best way to make it at home! I find the chocolate coating too sweet, I just want the centre malt balls but can't find them anywhere at all! just bought malt powder today, will try to make the meringue
Malt meringue indeed requires no chocolate coating! I snacked on my test batches without the chocolate. Though bitterness from dark chocolate actually makes the overall taste less sweet. You don't have to use the same sweet coating chocolate 😁
I priced Maltesers at 12.95 for six 37g bags through Walmart. Whoppers used to be better but are just sugar bombs now. I recently bought the same malted milk powder to make my own chocolate malts with Boost glucose control shakes because everything is oversweetened these days.
You could also use Dry Malt Extract for an extra boost of malty flavor - I only discovered it after getting hooked on homebrew & mycology. Now I can make my own malted milk!
I like the inside of the seafoam version - but there's no easy way to shape it, and the outside is quite hard. Taking the overall texture into consideration, the meringue is probably the best bet.
I don't know that malt syrup will stand heat as well without affecting flavor. From purely cost perspective I would expect the bulk of the syrup to come from plain sugar, with malt extract added later.
Though (malt) balls are gluten balls, has anyone heard of gluten free chocolate ball that thoughly look like malt balls even on the inside? There's Doisy & Dam Ballers, Creative Nature Gnawbles Creamy Mylk chocolate, and Schar Delishios. Those are the only Known brands of gluten free malt balls that are thoughly Rice and Corn Balls with those flours. I think malted milk could've just included wheat starch and wheat starch only (as a real milk product).
Great that you showed how you failed (or what not to do) - maybe next time just show what did work and state that you tried other methods but all failed lol...we'll take you're word for it
Never seen the, strawberry ones, but im addicted to both already !!!😂 thanks

Update? How did it go!!
This girl needs alot more subs :”(
Just subbed because of this plus I'm here because I got a Halloween candy sized whopper.
Thanks for going through the process. I tried the third method and it was great. Used about 1/5th cup of sugar.
Thank you for the update! Glad it worked out for you 😄

The freezing idea is brilliant! Would love to know if that works out!
@@workdaygourmet I'll let you know ! I might try French Vs Italian Vs Swiss merengue as well, maybe aquafaba merengue too
Thank you for sharing all your experimentation ! This is exactly what I was looking for- though it seems quite laborious. :-)
Haha I got a little obsessed :P individually each recipe isn't too much work (I hope)
I love Maltesers. Its so tasty and it just melts in my mouth, definitely my favorite candy
I tried this recipe it was soo tasty I didnt knew such less ingredients would make such a good thing I didn't had malt powder so I added almond powder it was so delicious. Thank you so much ❤❤
Dried malt extract is a good sub to add malty flavor, but yeah any nut powder will do well for adding flavor, have fun trying out different flavors!
@@workdaygourmetsure I will experiment with new flavour thank you for this amazing recepie❤❤
bro i LOVED gonna make these for valentines hehe
I'm sure it'll impress! 😁

Which is the regular malted milk ball recipe?
I was thinking the same, tnx :)
Like 1 wow that looks delicious and very yummy thanks for sharing 🌻🌻🌻👍👍👍👍👈👈👈
Malted meringue is definitely worth a try imo. Feel free to pipe them into any shape you like 🙂

Try taking the last batch of candy filling and put it in a food processor and make it into powder. Then mix that into the meringue

I will be making these for the holidays ❤
Excellent video dude
This stuff would be awesome in chocolate covered wafer form. Two long wafer thin bars stacked with caramel between them and covered in chocolate
Excellent video 👏 very well explained. Thank you 😊
So good!
Can't wait to try this recipe.
You’re doing gods work 🙏
meringue looks fullproof. what If I baked the meringues in a spherical container with the lid on?
A lid would probably trap too much moisture and the meringue won't be crispy inside
Wow!! This video was amazing amazing 🤩🤩🤩
Totally great! Thank you! 🥰
Thank you!
Thankyou for sharing have a gret day
❤
I love maltesers
Which one turned out the closest to maltesers?
I like the inside of the seafoam version - but there's no easy way to shape it, and the outside is quite hard. Taking the overall texture into consideration, the meringue is probably the best bet.
I had often thought that they used malt syrup and bicarbonate to make Malteser centres.
I don't know that malt syrup will stand heat as well without affecting flavor. From purely cost perspective I would expect the bulk of the syrup to come from plain sugar, with malt extract added later.
🤣" let me just say don't do this"

This might work if you follow the video but if you go by her recipe written I wasted money and ingredients
AMAZING MALT BALLS WHOPPERS THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟❤️🖤💚🤎 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME BEAUTIFUL ✨,
Hola buenas tardes rico rico si traduces si me suscribo a tu canal
Whopper whopper whopper whopper.
Whopper!
Great that you showed how you failed (or what not to do) - maybe next time just show what did work and state that you tried other methods but all failed lol...we'll take you're word for it
Or you can just spend a dollar and get the real ones 🤣
People want to make their own malt balls so they can coat them with higher quality chocolate.
Nope not worth the headaches
